Man, I still can't believe "Daddy's Home" was more popular and had a sequel and this freaking masterpiece didn't.
this movie had a lot of subtle humor too. Like, how Mark Wahlberg had a lion as his pc wallpaper before the School of Tuna vs Lion monologue, to learn that Tuna wins vs Lion so he changes it into a shark xD.

Let me start off by saying I love this movie. With that said, this movie cost 100 million to make. Plus marketing. It only made 170 million. After the the theaters cut, and what not that’s not allot of profit.
Daddy’s home cost 50 million and made 242 million, those are better numbers. That’s probably why the studio decided not to.
Who knows maybe the creative team behind it didn’t want to.
The lines, the acting... It's the most underrated comedy ever made

I had to pause that scene, I was about to vomit from laughing so hard at the entire buildup with possibly the greatest payoff I've ever seen.
Still can’t see a single fucking bush within 100 yards/meters of them
I still remember watching the first time when they went for the bushes and was like "WTF!!!??" I was so confused at first. It took a few watches to really get the joke

This is one of the best lines in a movie.
Especially since peacocks can't fly. Or at least not very high.

I still think they missed a trick with this by not doing a prequel to it starring Samuel Jackson and Dwayne Johnson called "The Main Guys."

Because that's missing the point of the movie. The Other Guys is specifically about, you guessed it, the "other guys", the non action heros. It's the whole point of the movie's existence. The Main Guys is just every buddy cop action movie out there, which this movie is parodying.

When the hot dog stand owner says "No Drinks, No drinks I can't do it" after giving free hot dogs for life I lose it. That's what this movie is all about. At face value it's a typical comedy movie, but you grow to attach significance to almost every single line of dialogue in this film. There is a scene later in the movie where Allen and Terry get jumped in a parking lot and terry goes "columbian drug lords" and I crack up every-time. Such a subtle line and you might not register it at first, but then you learn more about Terry's character and can't help but laugh. There are so many intricate details added into pieces of dialogue with each character that it warrants a rewatch to pick them all up. From Terry's recurring theme of learning various activities to bully kids, to Allen's wife and pimping past, and the captains references to TLC tracks this movie is so full of connected dialogues. I love this film, a top 5 comedy in my opinion.

@@sumedhvaidya3019 Sure! the hot dog stand owner announces to the crowd that the officers are allowed free hot dogs at his stand, but then follows it by saying no drinks. It displays how the hot dog stand owner still needs the money made from drinks even though he's giving them free food. A subtle joke and not too deep, but just a funny comment to add about how cheap the owner is (but could be a nod to the high cost of living). Also there is a scene later in the movie where Terry and Allen get jumped in a parking lot and Terry first instinct is to say that they are drug lords attacking them. In reality, it wasn't drug lords but it just adds to Terry's character as he just spews words out without any real idea of whats going on.

Keaton started as a comedy actor. He is a natural. Beetlejuice is a amazing classic. And he carried all the comedy the entire movie.
Danson and Highsmith killed half a bus of tourists and blew up a bank to stop a few homies who just wanted to smoke a blunt. They gave them free hotdogs (no drinks) for life, a press conference and all the sex they don't want to have but have to. They're kind of a public menace.
