Great video. I'm a Westerner, married a Western women, both worked, had kids, house etc. After 17 years it ended. Before I meet my wife I traveled a lot and went to Thailand when I was young and single, 26... Always loved the people. 8 years ago I was back and ended up meeting the love of my life. Yeah she's 23 years younger but I brought her to California to try a new life(with her daughter). She's amazing and the term I'd use that makes her different than Western women, she's respectfully strong. And I'm happy to let her make decisions, I would rather to just be happy and make her happy. Life is too valuable. 🙏
Having being married to my Thai wife for over 25 years and having many (failed) relationships with western women I can say that western women are always trying to mould you into something they want, where as Thai women let you be as you are. But Thai women are very strong willed and as tough as old boots. I wouldn't want to get int a fight with my wife even if she is half my weight!
My Thai wife is one strong woman she will tell me straight what she thinks She loves me 100% and looks after me l am the centre of her life but has no problem telling me her thoughts and feelings We have had some huge arguments over the years but she is mostly right now l look back on things She respects me but she is tough and puts our family first before everything else So don't expect to have a Thai partner who just dots on your every word they have a big say on the future of the family and the relationship It took me a while to understand my wife l thought she was just wanting things her way but understand now she has our relationship as her number one priority Don't worry life is a journey and we are more of a team now more than ever l appreciate her opinion her point of view
27 years in Thailand. never knew any men who would even date a Western woman. Most had been married to one and when they find Thai women and the culture, they do not go back. I know Western women who make friends with Thai women to even meet Western men. I have never heard of a Thai man marrying a Western woman. I feel sorry for Western women. Was married twice to them. So I am glad I know better now. My Thai wife from Buriram helped make her families house, brick by brick by hand. That's a pretty grounded person.
Thai ladies are tough! I have yet to see a job in Thailand that is Male only. Concrete work, AC installer, road work, delivery driver, lawyer, the list goes on and on. I have been living here for 3 months, and I swear on a everyday basis, i see more hard working Thai woman than Thai man.
Pushing street carts to sell items in the blazing sun. Working 15 days on for every one off. They have to be tough- they've been seated on the fronts of motorbikes in heavy Thai traffic since they were too young to remember.
I always laugh when Western women say they are strong and independent. When there are equal men and women tarring roofs in summer heat we will be equal.
@@noneyabizness7288 Bro. Those aren't even traits most Western males seek in a mate. WE look to provide that. Also, not one lady has made a Premier League team, NHL club, major league baseball roster, NFL lineup, NBA, or U.S.major college sports team in the popular sports. Not a single, solitary soul in 120 years.
@@bijanbayne3259 I'm not looking for those traits, I was making a comment on Western women claiming they want to be equal. They actually only want to cherry pick the best things and leave everything else to men. I don't want an equal woman, I want someone who can complement my strengths and weaknesses and I can do the same for her. I've found Thai women to be strong and feminine at the same time which is a great change from the US.
This should be interesting!!! 28 minutes and 4 seconds later…you did not disappoint. Very interesting topic that is so relevant in today’s state of the world. I won’t get into the debate but I will say this….I boarded an Atlanta to Chiang Mai flight in January 2005 for my first trip to Thailand. As is the custom for all international flights, announcements are made in multiple languages. When the Thai flight attendant made the announcement in Thai, I immediately fell in love; not with the flight attendant but with the soft female voice speaking the beautiful tonal Thai language. It took the 21 hours of flying from tolerable to enjoyably relaxing. I actually looked forward to turbulence because I knew the fasten seat belt announcement was on the way. Nineteen years and 30 trips later…I’m still in love. If I were to ever remarry, I would marry a Thai woman with a prenup agreement that she read me bed time stories each night in Thai. That’s all I’ve got to say about this topic.
As a late 30s guy who has been living in Asia (Japan, Korea, Thailand) for the past 13 years and who has been around the dating scene quite a bit, I can tell you that 99% of the Western women living in Asia are sexually frustrated and angry that they're being ignored by men. Dating apps are too funny when you read their profiles; these ladies actually think they are hot shit when in reality, nobody wants to deal with their BS. Losing control of the narrative and the power of using sex as rare gratification drives them crazy.
I was once told a Thai marriage is as follows. The man is the front two legs of an elephant, stood up tall, leading the family. The woman is the back two legs, seen to be following her husband's lead. But the reality that nobody sees is the man can make the decisions, but if she does not agree with those decisions, the back legs dig in and the elephant won't move. The elephant will only move once the front legs have made the decision that the back legs agree with.
My Thai wife is super strong. She grew up in the jungle and in financially poor conditions. That teached her some humble values and she wants to work hard for a better life, not only for her but also for her mother and 7 siblings. In my eyes she's a superhero. She protects me from wild animals and all sorts of nature-related dangers. She is very adventerous and not scared of anything except ghosts. Western woman start panicly screaming when an insect flys around... Western woman are not strong, they just have an inflated ego. They are rude towards men and that makes them think they are "strong".
Why would a western independent woman even care what we prefer? Loss of control of the narrative in their own mind? I personally could care less what they think and this is where their issue lies. I wish them the best as long as it doesn't include me.
A Western women is still high value to guys in her own country. It's males who generally become invisible after middle age in Canada, the UK, the US and Australia. An attractive, or even mid- looking (by Western beauty standards) woman can always find an interested male. Probably even in Hua Hin
Thanks. A very good video 👍 I’ve met some amazing women from my country (Australia). I was never interested in Asian women, but now married to a Thai woman. I believe that lady will do well in Thailand due to her ability to hold intelligent conversations. Where l live in rural Thailand, l’ve noticed a major communication problem between expat husband and Thai wife.
I spent 25 years in daily battles with a western woman. Why would I subject myself to that till the end of my life. I found a wonderful 58 year old Thai lady with a quiet and kind disposition who makes her position known without a battle now our life together is amazing and stress free.
Finally, a reality-based comparison of Thai and Western women. I love how the comments from western women just prove the points that are discussed. They can't help exposing themselves when triggered.
Your channel is high calibre with great content. I remember when you got stuck in the UK then returned to Thailand to go on the "Johnny there's something out there" channel. It's been a great journey.
This was a great video, Ryan. Quite a Pandora’s Box you opened. It’s great you took the time to explain a balanced viewpoint. However, if anyone, regardless of sexual identity, feel they may be ignored, solely based on race, then they have low self-esteem and confidence issues to resolve before they decide to make that move.

I (Brit) married a Thai woman in Switzerland and then moved with her to Thailand. Unfortunately she doesn't understand the word 'faithful'. I suspected many times, when she went out and came home late that she was f-ing around; but when I visited my sick father in England, received a message that she was pregnant. (She'd had ligation and I was vasectomised). Obviously we divorced. After a few years, I went on a Thai dating site, dated a few Thai women (all younger than me) but then met a Burmese woman living in Thailand, also younger than me. I had no intention of getting married, but we have now been married for five years. She has her opinions and I have mine, but we are able to discuss problems / ideas and always manage to reach a solution that is reasonable for both of us. If I'm being an ass, she will tell me and vise-versa. We are very happy together.
i gave up on the western women a long time ago(they are not all bad) but most have forgotten how to behave like ladys i like the way that Asian ladys behave the culture is so different and i like the respect they have for the family and helping each other its something we have forgotten in the west its just dog eat dog here in the UK our society is failing and its no place to grow old they don't respect or support them.
I was taken to Koh Phayam for my 60th birthday. From my experience there was no shortage of male and female interest. The Thai women said that I was very beautiful, I think that white hair, golden tan and blue eyes was just different. I was cat called by groups of young Asian men, one older Spanish man wouldn't stop staring at me even though he was with a young Thai massage girl. I had quite a few interesting conversations with older ex-pats who lived there, all in all it's a friendly country so I don't think that the lady will have any problems.
Interesting topic.. I married a Thai woman after being single for over ten years… It’s was a minefield trying to find the ideal woman for myself in Australia. Some had children had little time for a man and others worked to much and some had hangups so called red flags…The list just went on.. My wife now, wow who would have known, she’s a trouper.Im a working man myself only my Thai wife stands with me 100%.love Thailand the culture and I hope to live there someday soon myself.
Omg my thai wife is very strong she will work 12 hour's a day no problem and her friend who is thai works 12 hour's then works with my wife for 5 hour's 😮 they never stop all they want is to work hard and be happy ....
I haven't commented before but am a regular viewer. I think the problem with modern feminists is that it is no longer about equality but more about control. In addition , men are seen as the enemy for a lot of feminists and I am aware of one man who appears to have been brainwashed by his partner into believing all men are bad. The feminist partner is the most sexist person I have ever met. Unfortunately men today in the west are unsure of their role when it comes to dating and relationships due to the new role of women and their expectations. Many women we see on social media are only there to take advantage of men and their situation. Men are now aware of the situation and no longer want to take part in the dating game and its current pitfalls. There are still good men and women all over the world I only have to look at the friends around me. I think that the media and especially social media are responsible for a downturn in the way we all live. I know that I have to take a break from social media every now and then to retain my sanity. I hope you are all well and look forward to the next video
The following quote I saved because for me at least, it 'hits the nail on the heads: "Men are not intimidated by strong women. But far too many women believe that being aggressive, rude and generally unpleasant makes them strong. No, it makes you insufferable. It's not that we 'can't handle you' but that we'd prefer not to, in light of better options.'- Marcus Gregory." Most men I know (including myself) are seeking someone who will make it a priority to create a refuge for us to come home to. For the most part Western Women are just not interested in this traditional role anymore. That's cool, but some of us will seek it somewhere else.
I agree I have been married to my Thai wife for over 6 years now and she definitely expresses her feelings, desires and opinions. We view our relationship as partnership when it comes to family dynamics. She backs my decision and I back her decision.
i am moving to the Philippines in 2025. my yearly income is around 80k,i sell my House,my car...just everything.I am 190cm (6 foot 3) Average Austrian Face and Fit and still single. I am done with Western Women
Great vlog Ryan as usual, wish more people like you with a good balanced views make comments on your vlogs. I remember going to Morocco on holiday with my ex wife from the UK when she pointed out to me nearly all the passengers were single middle aged women going there for relationships with Moroccan men but no one talks about that in the UK do they😂
Did your wife 'interview' a lot of those women on that flight? I'm just wondering how she knew so many were going for that reason. It seems unusual, too my way of thinking, that one would talk to do many people on a flight, but then somewhat private information shared by so many.
@@rogertaylor6901 you talked about a "balanced view", I responded with a simple, reasonable question and you come back with an aggressive response 🤔 talk about unbalanced 🤷🏼
Not planning on knocking my Thai wife off just yet 😮 I have 2 ex English partners who I'm still friends with but their is no way on earth that I'd date a western women again, The thought process and happiness of asian ladies is sublime 🎉
Good discussion. Yes there are major cultural differences. My observation is that life is more stressful in many parts of the west. In my view Thai women are (in general) lower stress people. Western women (on occasion) can seem like you are part owner of a high permanence car that you not allowed to drive but are required to perform constant maintenance on demand.
Started listening to this vlog and thought I could hear the sound of a can opener. Opening a 'can of worms' , Ryan? Like myself, you have a very balanced view of most, if not all things in life. The world has lost it's balance in the past few decades, if it ever was balanced. Facebook, where your topic of discussion came from really highlights that. Another vlog from you that I enjoyed 🙏
The comment that contained the word 'femnazy' uses the word as slang, pronounced and often spelled 'feminazi'...The term feminazi is used to characterize feminist perspectives as extreme in order to discredit feminist arguments...Feminazis" are often described as dangerous, strident, man-hating, prudish, humorless, and overly sensitive.
Thai women are good wifes. It is because of the importance we place on the family, our natural warmth, and hospitality, Thai wives are known to be faithful partners who are devoted to taking care of their husbands and children. A Thai woman is a nurturing wife who will make your home a place you always want to return to.
One of the greatest things Thailand and my Thai wife as well has taught me is, to stop being judgmental. As a 58.5 yr old American, I’m ashamed I had not adopted this philosophy sooner. So freeing to stop worrying what others do and think. Especially when it’s baseless. I can’t speak for all Thai women but my wife is smart, very smart. Cheers 🍻
I'm staying out of this one 😂😂 It's nice to know that I'm not the only one that trys to understand other people's thinking from their perspective and circumstances. I wonder how many people bother to do that ? I'm guessing over half either don't think to do it or can't be bothered 😂😂 It shows flexibility in interlect which I think can assist with spiritual growth. I hope.
spot on, on the political situation today. I am a relative newcomer and not a suitable boyfriend or hubby, not looking or hoping. and, I have the utmost respect for Thai women, they do not occur to me as subservient or docile at all. the culture centering around family is wonderful!
RE my earlier missive: My comments come from my background. In spite of my Chinese name I am a Westerner, but married happily twice: 20 years to a lovely Thai woman and 40 years with a lovely Chinese lady.
Plenty of young British and German and other European / American Girls come to Thailand looking for a man as well. I’ve met loads of them in my time in Thailand, some with success and some with not so much success.
I’ve been married for 25 years to a Thai woman. Believe me she is no pushover . She is strong , clever, and takes no nonsense. But she is also feminine, loyal, caring, trustworthy, patient, loving, great cook,, even greater mother, and loves hers and my family.
I've been following your videos since you had the invasive PCR test and quarantine many years ago. I like listening to your perspective on so many different topics! Just one little gripe if I may? Don't add the sound effects, please. Cheers
I agree with your advice for her. If she is friendly and non standoff-ish she will be okay meeting people in Thailand. I’m a 40yr old man that’s been traveling to Thailand for years and have no problems talking to western women in Thailand (Bangkok) that portray themselves as friendly and non standoff-ish.
@@thenakedguru you are welcome. Your channel is an inspiration for me to get my sh!t together and relocate to Thailand. I appreciate your channel and wish you and the family all the best.
if my partner didn't challenge what i was doing, i would think something is completely wrong. my partner isn't rich, but wants no handout from me (its hard enough to buy her a 300baht dress). she works hard everyday in isan, but is patient enough for me to plan my move. she is one of the most independent and stoic people i have met and who is the sole provider of care and finances to her elderly parents. worked hard for a decade in bangkok to buy the land and build the house they now live in. i have never ever met someone who has gone through so much struggle and hardship and continues to smile about life, and maybe that is a defining factor of thai women. my experience might be a bit different as we are both in our early 30's and found her before i found thailand. happy mothers day!
I was married to a Chinese lady for 51 years until her death. She was wonderful - never yelled at me even once. I hope to marry again - a Western woman would never be considered by me.
We’ve been married for 43 years, and neither of us can imagine being with anybody else. We’re blended but we’re both independent too. Relationships are unique so it’s hard to talk about or empathise with anybody else’s experience. I’m a retired therapist and yes I also saw couples, mostly when they’d developed in different directions and no longer provided what the other needed. It depends on priorities and these certainly change over time. It’s a good exercise to write 0-10,11-20,21-30 etc and write down your top priorities for each decade to learn something about yourself.
You can't judge anybody. Whether they are Asian or Western women. Everyone is different, some are good, nice people. Some are mean and nasty. Same as us guys. So you can't generalise at all.
But you can generalize, you just shouldn’t judge specific individuals by the group average. generalizing comes from what is true in general. Ex, men generally are stronger than women. That doesn’t mean Bill Gates can beat up Gina Carano. In general, western women lean more into misandrist ideology than Asian women. That doesn’t mean every Asian woman avoids feminism and it doesn’t mean every western is bad. In general though your odds are better in Asia.
I think Thai women are very strong and smart they work so hard I think Damo is very hard working and a beautiful women and she is strong to be able to tell how she feels I love when Damo tells us her feelings and she has a good sense of humor also! You are very lucky!❤
@@thenakedguru I love your home, I live in Ratchaburi west of BKK and I hope to get a home somewhat like yours at some point. Currently renting in the city.
I do not hate my ex at all. I gave her everything and wished her the best. I am at an age where I need to think about my future. Yes, I have found a Thai woman. However she for sure speaks her mind. She is strong and definitely provides a balanced relationship. I would say, not because she is Thai, it just worked out for me.
The opening post doesn't mention if she's visited Thailand previously, if you're planning on living in Thailand you need to do your due diligence to find a part of the kingdom you would be happy living. During this time you will get a feel and understanding of if the area offers what you're looking for.
great vid ryan... i would love a video of you just showing all the animals you have on your farm... number of animals.. there names etc.. as a animal lover i would love that... i see so many dogs running around you.. introduce them all ❤
Interesting topic. I’m 49 from US, plan on retiring in Thailand eventually. But I have no idea if I could meet a Thai man. In US, I only date foreigners. For example, my ex husband is from Mexico. I’m super conservative with old fashioned values and their family values match my own. My question is, I’m nothing like the “typical” western woman, but are Thai men attracted to white women? We’re a lot bigger and not as cute as Thai women.
Yes I know about 12 couples where a Thai man is with a western woman- some are on UA-cam - you may check sweet life lanta, native farang or lilys expat life 👍
Thanks! Maybe I’ll have luck! Lol Funny thing, video mentions Western men like Asian women because of attitude. I’ve never heard anyone here say that. All the white men here like Asian women because they’re physically attractive. For me, Asian men are extremely attractive but I also love the family values they have.
You will have absolutely no trouble at all meeting a Thai man in Thailand 😊 My husband is Thai and almost everywhere we go out here we get asked by Thai men "How did you get a white woman?", "Where can I find a foreign woman?" etc. I think it's just a lot less common than when it's the other way around. I met my husband in the UK, but there are plenty of Asian men all over the world who seek western women, believe it or not 😅🙏
When two people divorce and they both say their exes are jerks it often turns out they were both right. So, when they go looking for someone new, chances are good one of them needs evolving in order to have a better relationship no matter who they get with next.
I can imagine the uproar if as many videos were made in the US as in Thailand of the bargirl scene, go-go clubs and freelancers. Thai women are grossly misrepresented on the internet.
Boomers on Facebook being boomers.. what a shock! 😂 The thailand expat community groups on Facebook can be pretty awful places to hang about at the best of times.
Agree. Also, in my experience, expat groups in 'real life' are pretty toxic in general. Gossiping, back biting and unpleasant. Better to stick with a trusted couple of acquaintances' for occasional meetings (Not in a bar preferably) and integrate more in the Thai community.
100%. My perspective on expat groups never ending bitterness, anger, need to be right, and general douchebaggery. Boredom with nothing to do all day, anxiety and despair for making the ¨wrong¨ decision and seeing out their final chapter in an imperfect country, and lots, and lots of alcohol. Toxic level 10.
@@Whatdoesitreallymatterspot on! I've been in the "Australians in Thailand" Facebook group for a little over 18 months with the intention of learning as much as possible in preparation for moving to Thailand to live with my Thai fiancee in the near future. Sometimes, I think about leaving this group and occasionally another group because of exactly what you describe.
There are plethora of very judgmental people in the world who believe every sterotype they hear. Im 45 and my wife is 26. She's Vietnamese and we live in a smaller province in Vietnam. The people that live around us always assume that I'm very wealthy and pay for everything. The truth is that my wife makes about the same salary as I do. We both work remote jobs for United States companies. We earn what would be middle class salaries in someplace like Ohio or Kentucky, but it puts us in the top 1 to 2% around here. My wife comes from a welloff family and doesnt need me to support herself. We work together as a team like you mentioned. We met organically and neither one of us was even looking for a relationship at the time. That was about 8 years ago. I dont really know where Im going with this story, but people need open their minds and look a little deeper. Not everything is the sterotype they saw one social media.
People are the same the world over. They want love and prosperity. They may express these desires in different ways and different people have different priorities regardless of race but inside we are all the same.
For me the question is choice, are we chosing the right partner? Most of the horror stories of men getting ripped off by thai woman are no different to men getting ripped off by western women. Relationships based on looks alone or money alone will eventually come unstuck. Men like to have a beautiful woman they can parade in front of their friends. Women like to have a rich man they can show off to their friends, this is always short term thinking. The lucky ones are those that find someone who ticks most of their own boxes in some way. If this happens to two people at the same time it can result in a lasting relationship. It all comes down to choice, if an older man choses a young girl because of how she looks, he should expect difficulties as time progresses, if a woman choses a man because he has money, she cannot expect the relationship to last.
I lived with a phillippina woman for a couple of years, they are definitley not weak, if anything they are stronger than western women and if you think they will be silent, you are in for a shock.
Interesting video. It is fine if a foreigner meets someone of similar age, but it is questionable if an older man or woman take up with a younger person. Despite what you said, I can't remember the last time I saw an older male or female, with a younger person. I wouldn't enter a relationship with a much older or younger person myself.
Anyone who thinks Thai women are push overs don't "know" amy thai women, Thai ladys have and speak they're minds. The difference is that Thai women value the traditional family, while many white women are rejecting because they've been told the are strong and independent. My thai misses IS strong and can be independent but doesnt want ti be, she wants to be with me, look after me, help me as it helps us as a family unit. I wanted her to stay home and relax while i went to work but she insisted to come to work amd help the business. She's more of a woman than any white ive had a relationship with.
Just a clarification. If the calculation is based on the adult population and supposedly in Thailand there are 54 million, that would make it 4.5 to 5%. Regardless, I agree with you on all your points.
Met my fiancee in Bangkok. Nothing weak about her. She is the youngest daughter and supports the family. As far as western women go, they are not for me.
Bravo mate! I have mates in Thailand who are butterflies. They were furious when I announced I’ve met a Thai woman who is simply gorgeous. Gorgeous as in her heart. Strong as in her heart. We lived in Australia for 10 years, Thanya is an Aussie citizen and bloody proud of it. Now we live here in Thailand and we still laugh and have fun every day. Now all of my mates refer to Thanya as their sister. It’s all about THE PERSON and not where you were born. We are very lucky nowadays, we are far from rich financially but we are a TEAM and always have been, so our life is easy. Respect of each other is our platform. Not feminism, not me being a male butterfly and certainly not listen to the media and the standards that they bat on about..
The only "group" who brings division and disrespect to this equation .. are western women. No Thai woman I have ever known has had any sour issue or talked badly about western women. And though some western men (typically younger) look to exploit Thai women for sex (though they have to pay for it .. very common also in the western world), the vast majority of any older (40+ .. ?) western man I've come across is simply attracted to Thai women and culture because of the relatively stress-free lifestyle she and it brings. I'm not sure why that's confusing to any western woman .. that a man would not want to have to deal with a "strong" western woman, when that typically only means constant bickering, prodding, testing and a non-supportive relationship. If that's "strong", then yes, count me out. I'll take the laid-back Thai woman, taught culturally largely by the laid-back Buddhist philosophy, instead of the stress riddled, go go go, capitalist mind-set. And as for any age differences, again, many Asian cultures are taught to respect and look up to older and "wiser" people. Again, why wouldn't any person, man or woman, want to be in a relationship and culture of respect, support, fairness, etc? I had an old western girlfriend accuse me of liking Asian women because I "wanted a submissive girlfriend". Laughable. Not any Thai girl or girlfriend I've ever known!
Hi A very good topic that you covered in this video. There are so many parts to this, but I conclude that a working relationship is based on respect and that you complement each other. For my own part, it works so that I may make bigger decisions, but it's not about me deciding in the family. It's largely because I find it easier to come to a decision, it usually takes a few minutes while my wife goes back and forth. My wife usually says that I am the head of the elephant, to which I usually reply that I feel like the butt :-) Another reason why I get to make bigger decisions is largely because my wife is incredibly afraid of making a decision that she maybe will regret, she really feels bad about having to make decisions. It's much easier if I make the decision and then she can complain if the decision is wrong :-) backseat driver Otherwise, I take care of everything in terms of numbers, bills, budget etc. and she takes care of alot other things i our daily life. In summary, we complement each other and respect what we are good at and bad at. It has been working for the last 22 years. Best regards Mathias
Thai village women and Thai women in Bangkok TOTALLY different mind frames and goals in life ! Reason why most farang with low paying retirements end up in some village because to live a life compared to Western life in Bangkok is NOT cheap unless you live like a local Thai and they DEFINITELY can’t afford to date Thai women who want more out of life then village provides
Bit of a generalization, many women that work in Bangkok come from the villages and the guys meet them there (as I did my wife who was an international banker) and end up wanting a more peaceful life. Most the guys I talk to round here have money but don’t like city life. When I lived in Bangko I would spend about 50/60k a month - here I spend 100-120k a month easy, however i have kids now and inflation etc
@@thenakedguru just 1 of my condos in Bangkok is 50k baht a month (only $1400usd ) that’s why in last comment I said to live a western life in Bangkok “ not live like a local with ok job I’m speaking on a different lifestyle then you were living … I have purchased condos in 3 different parts of Thailand and Bangkok is BY FAR where the wealthiest Thai men reside ! 24:31 Summary & Stats
Thanks for sharing 🙏
Having being married to my Thai wife for over 25 years and having many (failed) relationships with western women I can say that western women are always trying to mould you into something they want, where as Thai women let you be as you are. But Thai women are very strong willed and as tough as old boots. I wouldn't want to get int a fight with my wife even if she is half my weight!
And the problem is when you do bend and become what they want they see you as weak and don't want you anymore. Many Western women are a strange lot.
Brilliant well put
My Thai wife is one strong woman she will tell me straight what she thinks
She loves me 100% and looks after me l am the centre of her life but has no problem telling me her thoughts and feelings
We have had some huge arguments over the years but she is mostly right now l look back on things
She respects me but she is tough and puts our family first before everything else
So don't expect to have a Thai partner who just dots on your every word they have a big say on the future of the family and the relationship
It took me a while to understand my wife l thought she was just wanting things her way but understand now she has our relationship as her number one priority
Don't worry life is a journey and we are more of a team now more than ever l appreciate her opinion her point of view
bingo
Im the same, strong wife and 23 years of happy marrage, 2x great kids .
There are a few western women married to Thai men. One runs a restaurant on Koh Samui, another has a resort on Koh Lanta.
Well now you have, hello 😊👋
Amen...western women are a mess..especially middle-aged ones. 95% are flabby, self-centered and boring
Yeah I think I know about 6 other Thai husband farang wife couples - and they tell me they would never go back with farang men 👍😁
@@NativeFarang😂
Thanks for sharing William
Interesting - this has been my experience though I never heard the story 🙏
I am completely agree and the most of smart thai lady know how to use her brain as the westerner lady.
She is very strong thai lady and don't be fool with the wild thai lady :)))))
Why would a western independent woman even care what we prefer? Loss of control of the narrative in their own mind? I personally could care less what they think and this is where their issue lies. I wish them the best as long as it doesn't include me.
agree 100%
100% agree!!!!!

A Western women is still high value to guys in her own country. It's males who generally become invisible after middle age in Canada, the UK, the US and Australia. An attractive, or even mid- looking (by Western beauty standards) woman can always find an interested male. Probably even in Hua Hin
We don't. I'm grateful as hell for Thai women. In fact, that's one of the top 3 reasons I chose to sell out and come to Thailand. Peace is priceless.
Thanks.
A very good video 👍
I’ve met some amazing women from my country (Australia). I was never interested in Asian women, but now married to a Thai woman. I believe that lady will do well in Thailand due to her ability to hold intelligent conversations. Where l live in rural Thailand, l’ve noticed a major communication problem between expat husband and Thai wife.
Thanks for sharing!
23 years with my Thai partner who by example taught to be better person, and it still is evolving.
Interesting topic! Happy Mother’s Day, by the way! I wish you and your family are healthy and happy!
By the way Chinese take away curry
1 tbsp yellow curry paste
1 tsp red curry paste
1 tsp shrimp paste
1 tbsp curry powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
Roast coconut powder with chili until fragrant
Add onion
Add coconut milk
Stir for an hour
I just love your balanced approach to the topic! Somehow, you come across as a Psychologist, a good one, that is!
I often say to my Thai lady friend that she is lucky to find a farang who loves her so much, but unlucky for her that her farang has no money!!
I think some of Thai lady could not be married with anyone and she is only interesting in your wallet
I would not say my Thai wife is weak. She just has different priorities from western women.
i gave up on the western women a long time ago(they are not all bad) but most have forgotten how to behave like ladys i like the way that Asian ladys behave the culture is so different and i like the respect they have for the family and helping each other its something we have forgotten in the west its just dog eat dog here in the UK our society is failing and its no place to grow old they don't respect or support them.
How beautiful is Damo in the picture with that lovely dress on happy Mother’s Day Mo you are a beautiful graceful woman thank you Ryan for your vlog
i think its a 10 y old picture
I was taken to Koh Phayam for my 60th birthday. From my experience there was no shortage of male and female interest. The Thai women said that I was very beautiful, I think that white hair, golden tan and blue eyes was just different. I was cat called by groups of young Asian men, one older Spanish man wouldn't stop staring at me even though he was with a young Thai massage girl. I had quite a few interesting conversations with older ex-pats who lived there, all in all it's a friendly country so I don't think that the lady will have any problems.
Thanks for sharing Fiona, I was interested in hearing some female perspectives on this video, and anything you may have disagreed with in particular?
Men are generally the gender who approaches, she'll be ok
Thanks for sharing and completely agree!
The following quote I saved because for me at least, it 'hits the nail on the heads:
"Men are not intimidated by strong women. But far too many women believe that being aggressive, rude and generally unpleasant makes them strong. No, it makes you insufferable. It's not that we 'can't handle you' but that we'd prefer not to, in light of better options.'- Marcus Gregory."
Most men I know (including myself) are seeking someone who will make it a priority to create a refuge for us to come home to.

Great vlog Ryan as usual, wish more people like you with a good balanced views make comments on your vlogs. I remember going to Morocco on holiday with my ex wife from the UK when she pointed out to me nearly all the passengers were single middle aged women going there for relationships with Moroccan men but no one talks about that in the UK do they😂
Cheers Roger! exactly!
Did your wife 'interview' a lot of those women on that flight? I'm just wondering how she knew so many were going for that reason. It seems unusual, too my way of thinking, that one would talk to do many people on a flight, but then somewhat private information shared by so many.

Thanks Colin 🙏
The comment that contained the word 'femnazy' uses the word as slang, pronounced and often spelled 'feminazi'...The term feminazi is used to characterize feminist perspectives as extreme in order to discredit feminist arguments...Feminazis" are often described as dangerous, strident, man-hating, prudish, humorless, and overly sensitive.
Do they have a Facebook page? ;.)
Thai women are good wifes. It is because of the importance we place on the family, our natural warmth, and hospitality, Thai wives are known to be faithful partners who are devoted to taking care of their husbands and children. A Thai woman is a nurturing wife who will make your home a place you always want to return to.
some.
Cheers 🍻
I’ve been with my Thai wife for 2 years before marriage I knew her for 13 years she was 31 I was 28 when we met !
I'm staying out of this one 😂😂
It's nice to know that I'm not the only one that trys to understand other people's thinking from their perspective and circumstances. I wonder how many people bother to do that ? I'm guessing over half either don't think to do it or can't be bothered 😂😂
It shows flexibility in interlect which I think can assist with spiritual growth.
I hope.
spot on, on the political situation today. I am a relative newcomer and not a suitable boyfriend or hubby, not looking or hoping. and, I have the utmost respect for Thai women, they do not occur to me as subservient or docile at all. the culture centering around family is wonderful!
All I can say Thailand will change the way you look at the dating game and what you want in a woman to marry
They actually look ridiculous 😂
And a great video like always 👍
Lucky you.. my girl lynches me when tax comes around 😅
Well that was a lot to unpack...lol...and me being married to a Thai for 25yrs.....that pretty much can sum up the strength of a Thai woman...!..lol

I’ve been married for 25 years to a Thai woman. Believe me she is no pushover . She is strong , clever, and takes no nonsense. But she is also feminine, loyal, caring, trustworthy, patient, loving, great cook,, even greater mother, and loves hers and my family.
To generalise across culture and Intelligence is a guarantee for failure😂😂
I've been following your videos since you had the invasive PCR test and quarantine many years ago. I like listening to your perspective on so many different topics! Just one little gripe if I may? Don't add the sound effects, please. Cheers
I agree with your advice for her. If she is friendly and non standoff-ish she will be okay meeting people in Thailand. I’m a 40yr old man that’s been traveling to Thailand for years and have no problems talking to western women in Thailand (Bangkok) that portray themselves as friendly and non standoff-ish.

Nice one mate 👍
Thai women are not weak they are just more traditional for the most part.
agree
we don't call "weak" but we calls Thai soft power :)))
if my partner didn't challenge what i was doing, i would think something is completely wrong. my partner isn't rich, but wants no handout from me (its hard enough to buy her a 300baht dress). she works hard everyday in isan, but is patient enough for me to plan my move. she is one of the most independent and stoic people i have met and who is the sole provider of care and finances to her elderly parents. worked hard for a decade in bangkok to buy the land and build the house they now live in. i have never ever met someone who has gone through so much struggle and hardship and continues to smile about life, and maybe that is a defining factor of thai women. my experience might be a bit different as we are both in our early 30's and found her before i found thailand.
happy mothers day!
thanks for sharing my friend

Lol
Funny thing, video mentions Western men like Asian women because of attitude.

A little add on to my last comment my lady friend is 55 years old
Boomers on Facebook being boomers.. what a shock! 😂
The thailand expat community groups on Facebook can be pretty awful places to hang about at the best of times.
Agree. Also, in my experience, expat groups in 'real life' are pretty toxic in general. Gossiping, back biting and unpleasant. Better to stick with a trusted couple of acquaintances' for occasional meetings (Not in a bar preferably) and integrate more in the Thai community.
You are not wrong!

Well done Ryan. On point content with a rounded overview. Your on a roll.
Thai woman are very strong
I haven’t found Thai women to be weak at all. It’s the women that keep Thailand running
yes this is my conclusion
Good points Martin
I lived with a phillippina woman for a couple of years, they are definitley not weak, if anything they are stronger than western women and if you think they will be silent, you are in for a shock.
Another great video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Definitely, those who know, know Thai woman are very independent.
Interesting video. It is fine if a foreigner meets someone of similar age, but it is questionable if an older man or woman take up with a younger person. Despite what you said, I can't remember the last time I saw an older male or female, with a younger person. I wouldn't enter a relationship with a much older or younger person myself.
Great vlog ❤
Anyone who thinks Thai women are push overs don't "know" amy thai women, Thai ladys have and speak they're minds. The difference is that Thai women value the traditional family, while many white women are rejecting because they've been told the are strong and independent. My thai misses IS strong and can be independent but doesnt want ti be, she wants to be with me, look after me, help me as it helps us as a family unit. I wanted her to stay home and relax while i went to work but she insisted to come to work amd help the business. She's more of a woman than any white ive had a relationship with.
Excellent commentary spot on! Love the thumb nail.

A strong Thai woman is just as strong as a strong woman in any country. I know this because I’m married to a strong Thai woman💪🏼
Just a clarification. If the calculation is based on the adult population and supposedly in Thailand there are 54 million, that would make it 4.5 to 5%. Regardless, I agree with you on all your points.
I read the same post!
Met my fiancee in Bangkok. Nothing weak about her. She is the youngest daughter and supports the family.
As far as western women go, they are not for me.
Dude! Yes!!!! Thank you ( v^-゜)♪
Isnt a strong Thai Woman the best of the four options? Hee hee ( v^-゜)♪
They definitely haven’t met Thai women 😂
I find many western women to be loud and misguided. Some mistake that for strong. And that's all I have to say about that.
Hi
A very good topic that you covered in this video.
My wife usually says that I am the head of the elephant, to which I usually reply that I feel like the butt :-)
Another reason why I get to make bigger decisions is largely because my wife is incredibly afraid of making a decision that she maybe will regret, she really feels bad about having to make decisions. It's much easier if I make the decision and then she can complain if the decision is wrong :-) backseat driver
Otherwise, I take care of everything in terms of numbers, bills, budget etc. and she takes care of alot other things i our daily life.
In summary, we complement each other and respect what we are good at and bad at. It has been working for the last 22 years.
Best regards
Mathias

Also a bank investment job is not the kind Thai wealth I’m speaking of as Bangkok has MANY Thai millionaires… good content and I respect your opinion
@@thenakedguru and yes MANY farang meet Thai women working in Bangkok because that’s where the money and resources reside in Thailand case and point of my comment 🙏🏽

@@thenakedguru no worries buddy I enjoy your content hope I don’t sound combative I’m just a direct speaking type guy 🙏🏽 blessings to your family
