I have a question ...hope it's ok to ask here. Sadly I'm unable to purchase your amazing patterns at this time so maybe the info comes with the patterns....I was wondering WHY the sleeve is set in and then the seam is sewn all the way from wrist to hip? Most commercial patterns I've seen do it the other way ...and this makes much more sense to me though I don't know why. I have knit a couple of sweaters and think that in knitting it is done the same way...sometimes :) Thanks so much for these great videos....though they make me REALLY want all your patterns ...especially since I've been weaving for 20 years+ and have yet to make anything fitted. :)

Please rewatch the video. I explain why a drop shoulder sleeve , with little or no cap, is installed with an open side seam/underarm seam, like a man's shirt sleeve. I demonstrate a set-in sleeve, inserted after the side seam and underarm seam are sewn, in a separate video. That link should be in the show notes. It all has to do with how much cap there is, or isn't. In the case of a drop shoulder sleeve, the cap is nearly flat and there is no additional ease built into the cap.
