I love the detail of how the Thinner paths are easier than the Paint paths and give more rewards, but aren’t as satisfying, giving the impression that, if Mickey chooses to use Thinner, he just wants to get it over with and is only thinking of himself, whereas if he chooses to use Paint, he’s empathizing with his opponent and helping them in a way that makes the outcome work for both sides, even if it takes more work. It just goes to show that the quickest solution isn’t always the right one.
Like undertale with the geno and pacifist run
The clocktower is the only thinner path boss that is cannon according to Epic Mickey 2, while some small choices such as the safe being held up was thinned out and hitting moody
@@aqwanouk2209isn’t the genocide route even more work compared to pacifist
@@larsthememelord3383 After reflexion i was more thinking the neutral route (of undertale) is the most similar to the thinner route (in epic mickey), because you didn't have to lisen to everyone to become you friend, you just kill everyone that go one you path
@@nekogamer2508
For what it's worth, I feel like a lot of folks didn't even think on it being possible to use paint on the Clocktower
At face value, you're in a boss fight, its arms look very thinner-able, and you wouldn't really expect paint to do anything to it given that, as far as I remember, the only things you can use paint on until that point are select parts of the world, which have a clear kind of highlight, and Blotlings, which the Clocktower doesn't look like...heck, thinking about it, it's really basically only a few steps removed from being a Beetleworx
Speaking of the Beetleworx, I do remember the last time I played the game learning the hard way that you really should deal with one or two bosses with thinner, because in taking the paint route with every boss, the harder Beetleworx enemies were _miserable_ to deal with because I only had the starting thinner capacity
The coolest Paint Path have got to be Captain Hook, the music sort of sync along well as you move toward Tinkerbell.
That was really great and it's the only boss battle with three outcomes in the game
CLOCK TOWER: Oh, dear. It seems my time has come.
Ugh, I'm not feeling too well.
(PARTS SPLASH)
The thinner route is surprisingly visceral! They really made it look like that stuff hurts.
Did... did you just color me blue with my own attack? That can't count, right? Surely that doesn't count!
Hat kid: u are my friend now. We are having sift tacos later
It really just is surprising how the end of a boss dependent if you use normal or thinner paint
It's a game about how the morality you chose affects the outcome of life. It even has a further effect on the whole world, so I included the ending cutscene post-game to show that. What I found fascinating was there were two thinner routes for the hook fight.
Games in that time really focused on the good/evil path of choices. Like Infamous
When I first played this game I remember doing all the paint stuff like activating or repairing some stuff with paint instead of thinner and of course redeem some bosses, specially enemies like slobbers, but when I did the thinner route all the things changed my perspective a lot, this game surely knew how to play with decisions trough the whole adventure
EPIC MICKEY IS BACK 🗣🔥🔥🔥
Funny how despite everything you can’t choose to spare the final boss
Not everyone’s gonna like the blue coat. Sometimes being mean and thinning green is the best they’ve got. But it’s not all bad, they just have to choose whether or not to do so.
i like how paint is more puzzle and thinner is more to the point
Easier to destroy than build 🤗
This was my first introduction to undertale like decisions.
I’m happy this game is getting a remake now a new gen can enjoy this masterpiece
It is?!
@@josephstalin8217 yes it’s going to be in the switch
@@blueengineer4554 that’s amazing. It also said it’s gonna be on PS five and PS4 as well if those rumors are confirmed to be true then I cannot wait for my brother and I to replay this game and we live both our memories. I bet you’re excited as I am.
Cant wait to see how the water the light physics look when the remake finally arrives
The thinner ending where you just bully hook until he literally falls apart is so brutal.
That's the 3rd secret ending that most people don't know about
Watching this years later after I remember playing this game, I had no idea you could even paint/redeem the clock tower, cause when I tried painting him, I just thought the blue was just the marks of the paint not realising you could paralyse his arms and paint his face to redeem him, I felt like a fool
Every boss has a paint and a thinner path. Hook is the only with two thinner routes
Nah man everyone felt that, myself included. It's the only part of the game where you can paint over paint. In my opinion that's bad game design, and should have been better explained.
Yeah i remember thinking there was some obligatory thinner bosses (like clocktower) to balance the game, it seems i was wrong
clocktower boss and backround theme is so nostalgic
Remember the time tron was cool enough to be in another game/concept? I miss those times
This and kingdom hearts 2 and tron legacy all around the same time. I'd love a new tron
They need to revisit this idea of horror that is epic Micky
It’s surprising to see Mickey nod his head in disappointment upon defeating the Shadow Blot using Thinner. It really makes you wonder if he’s regretting what he did or not.
Good ending versus bad ending
I didn’t know that there was two alternative endings it remindeds me of undertale
Lots of games out there with alterate paths. Makes replaying them more fun, but 100%ing them a nightmare
To make it simple, you can see the "Paint path" as the HERO path and the "Thinner path" as the VILLAIN path.
I really hope the remake fixes the sound quality, because *damn,* the sound is distractingly crunchy.
Gutted the real shadow blot wasn’t a real boss. Just getting the heart felt a bit anticlimactic
With the Remake comming, this has me excited now!
For the Captain Hook fight I love to do the Thinner path because it's satisfying to me.
Which of the two thinner paths?
The first one.
Soomethinf that's interesting about the captn' hook boss is that there are 3 ways to defeat him
does the clock tower boss have an ending where you use paint thinner on one arm and paint on the other?
The only boss with an alternate route ending is Captain Hook which I showed in the video.
Epick Mickey Rebrushed
alt endings love it
I am a paint guy, you are a thinner guy
We arent the same
I'm a hybrid
so to save everyone you have to paint them all gotcha
Bit of a shame how much the bosses' creativity fall off after Clock Tower. Pete in a costume that just throws shit at you. Hook's fight is at least interesting but Hook isn't a forgotten character at all so it doesn't feel the same. Mad Doctor got completely wasted and is just a glorified level. By the time the bosses pick themselves back up with the Shadow Blot, the game is nearly over.
Here's hoping the remake fixes up the bosses!
The petronica fight is one of my favorites since they use the tron discs
rw:eventhough there were some bosses i dont like, but i rather befriend them for the good ending.
The mad Doctor boss is not impacted at all by how you do it?
Pretty much. They were likely already planning the second game at the time, so they had to keep him the same.

Wouldn’t the real Shadow Blot count as a boss?
You never fought them. You just destroyed the roots to the heart
Mutch they remake the first game
*Sees you fighting the bosses instead of healing them*
