  • Hughe thanks for 2000 subscribers!!! Tomorrow I will go to the garage and spend the weekend making youtube videos.
Untill then, here is a short youtube video of a broken 3d taster I bought. I thought I would post a video about it since I always wanted to know how they look inside. Tomorrow I will go to the post office and pick up a tip for it so that I can put it to test.
(I bought some large stuff for the garage lately. Garage was pretty full, so I decided to sell some stuff I did not need. Before I picked up the new stuff. It kept me busy for a couple of weeks. Therefore no youtube videos october / november)

Tomorrow I will go to the garage and continue to make youtube videos.
Hughe thanks for 2000 subscribers. Thanks to you I was able to buy this 3d taster with money generated from this youtube Chanel.
(Due to lack of space in the garage, I spent november selling stuff I had no use for.
So I could make place for stuff I will have use for. But now I am back at it making videos again

Amazing job getting that taster to work again. Those are so expensive and great tools. Thanks for sharing.

That looks like a very nice buy. They have the chinese versions sold as coaxial indicators for about 80bux. But this is much much better. Congrats in getting it to work.

Thank you! I have ordered a new probe tip for it and will test it out today. I did not expect much from the buy, but it is looking promising :)
I will check those co axial indicators out, 80 bucks feels lika a bargain.

Thx man! :D I actually bought two for a total of 40 bucks. The other one seem to work descent aswell. The probe needle / tip or what it is called was however not included to either of them. I bought one for 27 euros that I Will pick up tomorrow. I think 27 euros is expensive, so I will take some measurement and then attempt to turn a second one with my emcoturn. Think a turned probe tip will be good enough for me.

@@thechipwelder1253 you should have made them both on the emco bro, pretty high price for a tip imo

Congrats dude! Those things are pricey normally lol. Try not to crash it yourself lol. Maybe do some testing to see if it is fairly accurate, maybe with a jig of some kind that keeps the taster in place and you can deflect that business end with some Micrometers?

Hello mate! I have ordered a probe tip for it that I will pick up today. Will then go to the garage and have some fun with my machines. I plan to make several videos this weekend with my 6040 router and the emcoturn lathe, but I also think I will record a 3D Taster part 2, in which I will make some tests to see how good the 3d taster will function.
Honestly, I dont have a lot of use for the 3d taster at the moment. But if I can get it to function it will most likely become handy for my next cnc mill project. I think the following definition of a bargain could be applied for this buy: "A thing you dont need, to a price you cant resist." Bought it mostly because I wanted to know how they look inside. Very cool if it turns out that the precision is good enough to so it actually can be put to use :)
Hopefully I will be able to upload some nice videos during december.
      Take care

Wenn der 3 D Taster zusammengebaut in der WZ-Halterrung in der Spindel der Maschine ist, muß der Rundlauf mit den von dir verwendeten 4 Schrauben auf sauberen Rundlauf in der Maschine eingestellt werden. LG Geri

Good work, but that was way too much grease. A watchmakers oil would be better for this.

What's your spindle you have installed on this 6040?

Remove that grease from the clock, this is a wrong way to oil it. You must use special oil for clock mechanism, its a liquid, not consistent.

Correct! It was a bad idea to apply the grease. It most likely caused the movement to move with higher resistence. I have no experince with watch movements etc so I decided to see if some grease would help. Oil would have been better but I did not have any oil in my appartment. Grease did not help at all, what helped was to straighten up the piece of brass that was bent. Thank you for sharing knowledge. I will go to the garage today. Think that there is a tube of special oil for watch movements there. I will try and apply some this weekend. Hopefully the movement will work even better with some proper luberication. :)

I would also like to ask if you know the purpose / correct name for what I call the "spring" @2:10. It looks like a spring but there is hardly any tension at all in it. Feel free to share some knowledge on that if you like.

Did you through away a crashed 3d taster? If I had a buisness / was machining many / or expensive parts. I would definetly through away a crashed 3d taster as well. 500 bucks for a new one is expensive for a hobbyist like me but For a machineshop I think paying 500 bucks for a new one is "cheap" vs the amount of money it could potentially cost to scrap parts (and redo) due to a dysfunctioning 3d taster. But for a hobbyist like me, that cannot justify the cost buying a new one. A crashed one might serve me well. Thx for commenting man!
