Why Is The TSCHORN V2 Edge Finder So Sticky vs The V1? | CNC & Manual Mill 3D Taster like Haimer

I just got a new TSCHORN V2 SLIMplus 3D Taster, and wanted to see how it compares to the TSCHORN V1 Plus size. I had purchased the TSCHORN V1 Plus size as new old stock and it had sat in the box for about 4 years. I thought the motion of the probe tip had too much friction, but it did not seem to affect the accuracy. I purchased a brand new TSCHORN V2 SLIMplus which is supposed to be an improved model and expected it to be much smoother in XY motion. To my surprise, it was initially so difficult to move in XY that I was worried the tip would break. It was also not as smooth in Z as the Plus size version, and it also got stuck when returning in Z. After working it for a few minutes, the motion became smoother on all axis. It is as if it needs some breaking in to work smoothly.

I found this video because I was googling the exactly same issue - my tschorn V2 probe is sticky too. I don't think I can trust it setting anything more than raw stock. Really disappointing.

It has gotten less sticky and hasn't seemed to affect accuracy

Dear Friend when you use for the first time you need to remove the vaccum from the rubber seal and it become smooth without sticky as what you feel

Thanks for the advice, I did that when I got it, but made no difference. It has gotten smoother with use, and works very well now. So it needed to be broken in.
