Hey CovertGoBlue. Just getting into your videos and gotta say I just love how methodically you go through your plays as you play them. Most comprehensive MTG streamer/UA-camr. Thanks
Hey CGB, I like your content. And I love the Molderhulkstrategie. As I am more a fan of BestOf3 I adapted your Deck a little bit to Bo3, mainly added a Sideboard and Priest of the forgotten Gods, which is really great in this Deck. It provides Card Draw, Removal and Ramp, while filling your Graveyard and has exciting Synergy with the green Cavalier (draw what ever you need out of your graveyard, when sacrificing the Cavalier with Priest. Here's the List, which has given me a lot of success in the current Ranked Bo3 at Mythic level, beating a lot of the common Tier 1 decks in the current format multiple times: 4 Blood for Bones (M20) 89 4 Woodland Cemetery (DAR) 248 3 Cavalier of Thorns (M20) 167 4 Llanowar Elves (M19) 314 2 Ravenous Chupacabra (RIX) 82 5 Forest (RIX) 196 4 Gorging Vulture (M20) 102 3 Temple of Malady (M20) 254 4 Molderhulk (GRN) 190 4 Memorial to Folly (DAR) 242 2 Lotleth Giant (GRN) 74 4 Overgrown Tomb (GRN) 253 4 Stitcher's Supplier (M19) 121 2 Swamp (RIX) 194 2 Jadelight Ranger (RIX) 136 4 Glowspore Shaman (GRN) 173 4 Priest of Forgotten Gods (RNA) 83 1 Doom Whisperer (GRN) 69 2 Plague Mare (M19) 114 3 Thrashing Brontodon (M20) 197 2 Massacre Girl (WAR) 99 1 Noxious Grasp (M20) 110 1 Kraul Foragers (GRN) 135 2 Golgari Raiders (GRN) 130 1 Izoni, Thousand-Eyed (GRN) 180 3 Veil of Summer (M20) 198 Doom Whisperer maybe should be an other Cavalier, but I think the Card selection, filling your Graveyard + Big Flyer Aspekt isn't to bad, so I will test it a little bit more. the hardes Matchup seems to be Scapeshift, which is currently played a lot, but even this feels like a winnable matchup thanks to Massacre Girl killing the Zombies consistently
This is a sweet build. You're back at the top of your deckbuilding game, lately! You also seem to enjoy Magic more. War of the Spark's meta-annihilating power level created some fatigue in everyone that I think M20 and Throne of Eldraine are going to mitigate.
Thanks for the video and the deck! Played it for quiet some time! Its hillarious! Fininshing your opponents by dealing 12+ damage reanimating the giant. Just GREAT!
I'm really not a fan of ranked since I can't just build what I want being behind an entire set and all. What really irks me, is when people bring ranked decks into un ranked play.
I made this deck yesterday from seeing it in the crossover with MTG Jeff. I had to make substitutions but this is my jam, I love playing this deck so much thanks
This is the best video ever! Not because it is your best deck yet (it is not) but it's full of UNCOMMONS which makes it very cheap to build and it is really really good, even in ranked!
I'm not a fan of Ranked. You play against the same decks over and over again, as to be expected. I come from a casual background from the Ice Age/Alliances block where my friends and I put together decks that were fun to us to play. In regular play, you come across more homebrew decks and to me, that's the fun in MtG. We never went out and bought single cards to make a competitive deck in the old days, we played what we opened or traded with each other for. My hat's off to the players who crush it in competition, it's just not my jive. By the way I am saving up my wildcards to build an Undergrowth-type deck like the one featured here, so it's great to see it on the channel!
I was playing similar version with Ashiok, instead of the vulture, but when I saw your decklist i tried it and fount it super good, also you don't need the 5 mana 4/4 that gains you life with undergrowth. Thank you for the awesome video, this deck is a lot of fun 😀
My ranked experience is beating meta decks with my budget non-meta decks getting to gold 1 then falling to gold 4 repeatedly once I hit gruul deck spam, grixis, or 14 oozes or worse by turn 5. Lacking rare lands sucks too but I have fun ( : Edit: considering running dimir again since I got my two copies of unmoored ego I needed.
Too bad Ixalan will be rotating, because in this type of Golgari deck, Journey to Eternity is always shining. You could also get it back from the graveyard with a Findbroker, if you accidentally mill it.
Alot of Blue Tempo? Well, of course. Blue is likely the MOST OP color, with all its Counter spells, and spells/creatures that simply take everything from your opponent. Counterspells, I think, need an absolute rework, as they are far to OP, and very VERY unpleasent to play against. Blue, in general, is not very fun to play against.
Counter spells in a limited shell like draft are fine. The problem is when they accumulate with new sets and old ones not rotating and hence you can build a deck with 16 counters. The fact that recently there are new good flash creatures that as an archetype is interesting but coupled with a lot of counters make gameplay very awful as they can always left mana open to counter and if not play a creature.
@@Angel24Marin Exactly, so Wizards needs to put a rule, that limits the number of total Counter effects in a deck. OR, make it so players can always pay X to allow the spell to go through.
I will be SOOO glad to see the explore creatures go away. So boring. I'd just ditch them, add more Chups and the Rotting Dino in their place. Way more fun!
I hate Risen Reef meta, fkn broken shit is what that is... So what if it's 1/1 for 3 mana, before I can answer it is already duplicated and they drawn million cards and lands within one turn, gg And Simic Flash while fun to play as, and super fun to watch mirror match happen, it's fkn atrocious to play against
Ah yes, the azorious deck that's Golgari in disguise
Doesn't that fit the Azorius guild perfectly?
(Lazav is dimir, I know)
T3feri is so strong that I wouldn't be surprised for this deck to be Azorius.
Not sure it would have mattered but the best block at 16:55 would have been the marshal so you could take it out with chuppa the turn after
You have blue white in the picture but black green in the deck
It's a trick to throw off his opponents.
@@themayorbear87 lmao
It’s to see if you know your colors :)

CONGRATULATIONS YOU PASSED

What doesn't kill me at least makes my Lotleth Giant stronger...

I'm with ya started just before WAR built a pretty good rav block collection awaiting rotation. Still manage to get diamond though.
Build jank budget versions of fun decks and run em it will be like being in mythic it'll be great.
I dreamed I was forced to eat a giant marshmallow, but when I woke up my pillow was gone!

I made this deck yesterday from seeing it in the crossover with MTG Jeff. I had to make substitutions but this is my jam, I love playing this deck so much thanks
@ 7:50, why didn't you attack first? Opponent was out of mana and couldn't kill it.

7:47 why didn't you attack with the 3/2 before using Blood for Bones?
to assert dominance
I'd go something like -1 cavalier -1 bird +2 find//finality for something vs wide boards game 1
Breathe of fresh air. Enjoyed
Double history of benalia is so sick...
17:06 why didn't you block the Benalish Marshal with the Moulderhulk?
cause he was protected by the 2/1 guy.
actually it blocked the same amount of damage, and then he could've killed it with the chupacabra surviving the next attack

Added Yarok and risen reef, and it worked pretty well \o/
I really enjoyed this one..Thank you
Creeping chill is a must have in this deck :)
Ah yes, a 3 damage dead draw. THATS what this deck needs.
Azorious reanimation
Temple of Ma'lady
*tips fedora*
I was hoping for an abzan giant tribal, but this is fine too LUL

Sees UW colors on thumb nail but sees BG creatures also, expect spice. Gets disappointment.
this is why i mainboard leyline of the void
Think this deck really needs some disfigure or moment of craving to hold off annoyances, otherwise pretty awesome!
They take away from the creature count
@@covertgoblue Alas the deadly creature vs removal paradox, I'm not very good at it myself hard to find the right balance
Why WB ?
I'm still into it

Damn and here I Was hoping to see viable white blue deck.

I was expecting azorius zombies. Now I'm disappointed.
just got my ass kicked by somebody playing this deck so thanks for that lmao

Dimir is the new Golgari.
Dimir is fun but horrible in the ladder past Gold.

So much misplays nowadays. What's going on?
It’s the new normal - blame the long recording sessions
Probably ranked fatigue
No worries. Was just worried. Always rooting for a fellow blue player.
So many bad grammar nowadays. What’s going on?
Even cgb seems bored with this one...
You didn’t see the lotleth
Nothing like 12 dmg and a 6/5 for 4 mana :^)

To be fair I didn’t watch past the deck tech part 🤷♂️
