    My doctor tested me and they said I can’t have the same things listed here! But I also can’t eat fruit it’s too much sugar and especially mango for other skin issues. I can’t eat raw vegetables ether because my digestive system cannot process it and it hurts so bad. I don’t consume seed oils ether. After using this diet I was cured from all my skin conditions and my inflammation got less!! This diet literally saved my life

    100% sustainable, it just takes dedication. Why would anyone ever want to reintroduce foods that your body is clearly telling you not to consume?

    • @Faithandseekerofchrist

      I agree 100% with what you're saying because why change something that is working for you? For some people it's the keto diet and for some it is the paleo diet or for some people it is being a vegetarian. I wouldn't want to consume those Foods on the daily basis if they are giving me reactions. Not everyone is meant to eat grains and fried foods and fruits. I mean fruits are good but they have a lot of sugar and if you eat too much of it it could be a bad thing. As of this year, I don't eat pork which means I stay away from it and I don't eat it at all. I did it because I want to, not because somebody forced me to do it. I also want to limit my grain intake and eventually stop having it all together. I have gluten-free rolled oatmeal but I'm not sure if it will be safe for me to eat still but it hasn't really done anything to me negatively. I don't eat it on the regular basis

    10 years ago I did an elimination diet via my naturopathic doctor. Took an entire year for me to finish. Then I followed an. AIP diet for 8 weeks avoiding all the foods I knew I had reactions to. Over the past 6 years I have had to do repeats and also followed the whole30 diet. My sister was just recently diagnosed with Hashimoto. Doctors have checked my TSH but never did an Anti-TG or TPO.

      Removing skins and seeds will reduce inflammatory lectins, and for cooked things, Dr. Gundry says pressure cooking can greatly reduce them (especially for legumes). One trick I use is roasting, then peeling peppers and tomatoes, which can then still be used in salads. I make roasted veg. gazpacho using raw, but peeled/seeded cucumber and onion plus roasted tomato, garlic and peppers. It's yummy.

    I just got diagnosed with Hashimoto's but not hypothyroidism. I struggle so bad to lose weight. I have tried it all. Vegan was the worst. Gained 8 pounds in three months and can't get it off. I am a fitness instructor too! My Dr. diagnosed me and said to go on a Paleo diet. I see this is a little stricter as Paleo also allows eggs, nuts and seeds. At this point I am willing to try anything. my main symptoms are weight and stiffness and pain. muscles fatigue easy. Hair and nails are fine. fatigue also but doesn't really stop me. I have EBV too.

      @@DrJinSung I agree. When I got diagnosed my EBV was very active. But I worked hard over the 10 years to get better. And I have to say it doesn’t bother me much. Just on occasion after waking up
      I really want to go back to sleep. And I am fortunate that if I am tried I can usually sneak in a nap. I am on day three of AIP. Breakfast is the biggest challenge right now. Funny thing is on day one I ate some AIP foods that I reacted too. Sweet potatoes, plantains, bananas, beets, strawberries and blueberries. Some of those are high histamine foods which also effect me. I coughed most of the day that first day. The next day I eliminated high histamine also and was fine. Hopefully if I can get my histamine down enough I can tolerate in small amounts. It is a guessing game.

I realize through a beginning phase,8 weeks, it would be sensible to eliminate ferments and later reintroduce perhaps rotationally to better identify tolerances and add back beneficial effects and nutritional uptake along with additional benefit for he gut health. If not previously spoken of would much appreciate including these points of input as well. Many thanks.... over 10 years down the road from a graves diagnosis here.

Before anyone mentions JUST egg, it is made from the legumes on his no-no list and also contains transglutaminase, which I just recently found out can be bad for celiacs--which I am. Something about it interacting with intestinal villi in a similar way to gluten and increasing gut permeability. 😢 I am thinking of experimenting with making something from konjac starch. After much testing on my own, I found that it was dairy that drove up my antibodies. It went down when I stopped. I am figuring by the end of this year that my TPO antibodies will be within normal range. After that, I am going to wean myself off thyroid pills. Hi! Does anyone knows if we have to cut gluten forever? Honestly, gluten foods like bread pasta are part of my culture and identity, and of course I am ready to give them up for my health... but going out with friends, eating my grandma pasta are also things that are important. Do any of you guys do this diet with once in a while eating gluten without bad consequences?

    • @Suzitao
      @Suzitao Рік тому +1

      I would say yes if you have any autoimmune condition sadly. Avoid gluten grains for life. I don't know where you live but if you can tolerate buckwheat (a seed) you could ask Grandma to try making pasta with that?. It wouldn't work for certain pasta types..but..Worth a try. Soba noodles are 80% buckwheat. Also sainsburys (uk) sells..pea fusilli, buckwheat penne, lentil and chickpea pastas but this would only be OK to try after the elimination phase diet. Otherwise I would stick with sweet potatoes and other starchy (non nightshade) veg. Hope some of that maybe helpful.

      AIP eliminates nightshades. With that being said, the 2 biggest culprits are gluten and dairy. Usually we start patients on an AIP diet but will add foods, in the lectin and nightshade family and observe to see any adverse reactions. The key is to add only 1 food at a time for 3-5 days and look for any adverse reactions. The other way to determine food sensitivities is through testing. I use CyrexLabs and/or KMBO. Best.

      Many patients will feel better on a strict AIP diet but it's important to add other foods at the 2-3 month period, not to lose oral tolerance for foods. Food diversity, especially vegetable diversity, is important to heal. With regards to medications speak to your doctor. I find that it's difficult to get off thyroid medications if a patient has been on them for years.

      The AIP diet is meant to be used for the initial phases for about 6-8 weeks then you should add some foods. Try increasing quality fats such as cold pressed olive oil, egg yolk, avocados, almonds, grassfed beef etc. Add one food item a time to make sure you don't have a reaction. Weight loss can be due overmedication(T4), malabsorption, low calorie intake etc. You need to someone to help guide you if you continue to lose weight. Recheck your thyroid with an ultrasound. I suggest working with a qualified practitioner to help you. Best, Dr. Jin
