    Hmmm....???
    OK, speaking from experience...first do not try and clean the nozzle holes with anything but either carb spray or a sonic cleaner. Never use a wire brush on the nozzles as it will deform and or close up the holes, ask me how I learned this lesson. The seals can be reused and heated and cooled down to bring them back to the same as , or almost the same as they were when new. Also only use the original thickness seals as original seals, never buy thicker ones as it positions the injectors from sending the fuel spray to the incorrect areas in the cylinder and this results in poor performance and hard starting. Also do not take the body of the injector apart just the nozzle tips as the inside is set up using a specialized machine. It must be set up correctly or the car will not run properly. I have never tried richer injectors but the correct new nozzles work as they should.
    I'm not trying to be a dick but I have learned all this the hard way, $$$ it cost me plenty of money learning what you shouldn't do.
    The seat reaming tool to make the seal surface like new is cheap off Amazon, $39. and it needs just one size of the 6 in the kit. Use plenty of grease on the cutting tool to keep all cuttings from falling into the bore.
    When the car is running you can check also using plastic water bottles to collect the return fuel from the top of each injector to compare them against each other. Too much or too little will tell you which needs to be replaced. The leakage is caused by the inside parts mentioned above, worn out inside parts.
    Again, not trying to be a dick just trying to maybe help others with the same problems.

      Better spray pattern or more flow? Do you have the part # to post. How did it effect your economy?

      Thanks for the info, I didn't think about trying any other injectors. When I have more time to fiddle with car I will have to take your advice & check it out. I am putting a trailer hitch on the car, different injectors might help make for a better tow rig. :)

      @@manbuilds1587 Just buy the replacement tips for a 2007 sprinter van I bought the ones off eBay. They work fine from what I can tell the vw jetta ones aren’t much different

    Do i need to recode the injector after install or is it good to go?

    • @manbuilds1587
      @manbuilds1587  5 днів тому

      @@Reiginleaf good to go. Smart 450 2002-2006 is not that complicated. The tip can be plugged or worn out, or the driver to open injector can be weak. I never heard about re-coding injectors, I will have to google that tern.

    I gotta change mine got code p0133, tried the sensor already n nothing

    • @manbuilds1587
      @manbuilds1587  2 роки тому

      On the gas engine there is a sensor on the turbo & a sensor in the muffler. P0133 could be either of the 2.

      @@manbuilds1587 I have the 453 it has a sensor on after the turbo and one directly on the Catalytic converter. But I changed both and nothing. Also didn't know they made a diesel smart with such great mpg 😮 I thought 39 was good on the mine but 70 something wow

      yah the diesel model is pretty cool. But they can be stinky. Once the tail pipe is extended out to the back from under the rear body work then they are a pretty cool little car.

      The diesels are the 450 model. not as nice of interior as the 453. but not too bad, still can get heated seats & air conditioning.

      @@manbuilds1587 how's the shift in gears on the 450 diesel? Because the 451 were so hard it feels like you're driving a stick shift and throwing the gears late in between gears lol
