- a Canadian Beekeeper’s Blog, processing beeswax into customer orders. November 18, 2017.
A low cost basic commercial method of processing beeswax into customer orders. The wax has been rendered through the same melter during the production season to remove the slum. This is the second time the wax has been sent through to further remove honey from that roughly rendered product.
Nice overview. Love the loaf tin molds.
Love watching people work....well done!
Another good video with common sense approach. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing this is very interesting. I often have a very hard time finding a small piece of beeswax for my furniture
I really enjoy rendering beeswax. I just find it so satisfying. But then, I'm just doing 10-20 pound unfiltered slabs.
Love the way of you melting wax. It really is very simple.
Thanks for sharing this.
I use an old electric fry pan , cheese cloth (muslin cloth) and buckets with 1kg butter containers as molds... that's low tech ahahaha
Has your wife asked you if you have seen her bread pans? :)
I use red disposable party cups as a mold. I can fit 4 of those into my electric wax melter.
Did you make the wax melting box yourself, or was it manufactured especially?
Спасибо за интересное видео.!!!👍👍👍
We use silicone cake baking moulds, they're very good
thank you
Do you make your foundation for frames?
Hm! I am curious, how do you get the wax and honey? Do you have to destroy the combs, or does the wax separate from the honey as you harvest it?
I have a question about whether or not it would be possible to reuse this wax in frames. And also I always see non-drawn out comb frames but is it possible to create completely drawn out frames ?
Nice job
In the States we use electric heat tape to keep water lines from freezing. Maybe you could wrap the valve and it will keep the pipes from getting too Cold to let the valve and wax to flow. It may keep you from fire up the torch every time you drain the wax. Thanks
nope it won't work. needs more heat then they put out.
@@jomase6154 have you tried it yet? Lol... Sorry I just thought once the wax was hot that it may help to keep it flowing in between use. Good luck
дякую за науку,thanks for sciense/ukraine
I know this is an old video, but just curious...do you have a valve on the tank at the bottom also to clean out the crud occasionally?
How many kg do you realise after using the two molds. The small and big molld
How can I order for beeswax. Thanks
Wow didn't know they were that big
We love wax videos!!!! Hahah
Hi I'm Kevin. I like your videos. I'm from Austria. I just want to know where you by the bigger wax molds? I can not find them. Thank you for your time.
woodspirit100 I buy them from
www.beemaid.com here out of Canada
Hi Woodspirit100, hope you are doing well. We are from India. We have pure IP grade Bee wax of highly natural products. Kindly contact exports@saieximart.com for more info regarding bee wax. Thank you!
You could use a centrifugal oil sediment cleaner OR (what we use) a large diesel oil filter (works MAGIC).
Would love to see a video of this
I like it 👍
i would love to buy some of that unfiltered wax. to filter it myself it's a hobby of mine lol
Same
It would be interesting to know how your neighbor presses out the wax. All the resources on UA-cam show really small scale and time consuming processes.
I bet the beeswax smells like maple syrup!
How much is per lb of clean wax. .Thanks
I would love to smell that wax, don't know why I always liked the smell of wax crayons, candles and wax products
How much does a wax melter cost
Hi. What kind honey extracting line do you have and how much money I will need to organised the same line?
$50-75000 for my complete set up of equipment
Good day, thanks for the video. I'm Augustus, South Africa, I'm researching the low tech production n wish to start a floor wax polish. Do you have any pointers for me, please?
I can't find the wax suppliers yet.
I'd say this is medium tech, pretty good stuff whereas some are doing it with a cheese cloth, pots and pans and used pepsi cans and cleaned old food containers as molds lol
СПАСИБО THANKS
what is the industrial heater you are using?
Nice job💖💖💖💖💖💖
Kindly tell me what your neighbour uses the slum for
they press what wax is still left in the slum, and they do old broken frames. as far as the slum itself, it can make for good burning fuel in the winter times. it's basically garbage.
Take a video review of the wax refinery, what is the principle of work. I am from Ukraine, I write through a translator)
Please make videos
Bee venom
Bee pollen
Parpollise etc
Thankx
Chris Isaak's brother?
What's "slum"?
There's a wikipedia article, "Slumgum in beekeeping is the residue of the beeswax rendering process. When the beeswax from brood comb is rendered to produce clean wax, it leaves behind the pupal lining, wax moth cocoons, excrement from larvae, and other residual debris included in the original material. "
Hi great video just wondering if I can buy wax from you I live in Ontario
Yes I do ship
Awsome how can we go about getting some off you and do you accept E-transfers?
Yes. Our website is under construction but www.stepplerfarms.com should get you my email address and we can proceed from there
now thats a lot of Bee fat...
Is it weird, that I want a 45LB block of wax, even though I would have absolutely ZERO ability to use it in any way?
You could make beeswax wraps with it. :)
Bonjour. Pouvez vous me donner le plan de votre chaudière svp. Merci.
Is kajal have beeswax on it...please reply me and give me answer fast. I want to make kajal at home so please
Anyone tell me What's uses of BeeWax ?
Seamstresses use it to toughen their thread. Archers use it on bow strings. There are hundreds of uses. There are some very high tech items that can't be made without bees wax. It's very special stuff.
Is there any money in bees wax?
Yes. Last time I looked it was around $8/#.
What percentage of your hives do you leave for environmental purposes - i.e. where you don't collect honey or bees wax?
0%. Would you part with $500 worth of equipment that you have to manage several times a year to prevent it from becoming a biosecurity risk?
Are there any beekeepers doing that? Makes no sense to me.
Do you mean how much to leave the bees for winter use? That's the only reason you'd not harvest as much as you can. During spring, summer, fall the bees will be producing. So you just leave the bees enough to sustain them thru winter. Environmental reasons? I can't think of any.
I have a couple 'wild' hives that I leave alone because they just won't die. They swarm and I've got traps in the trees. Call it me being lazy. One hive I just don't like it for some reason. They were mean 4 yrs ago. I'm certain that my bee club acquaintances would judge me hard. They judge everything hard and don't share much because they're afraid of being judged themselves. Those two hives made a lot of new colonies this year.
I would kickthose molds walking around no doubt hahaha
Good vid, nice and informative. Just when you're talking straight into the camera, please leave it on a tripod - the handheld wobbles too much and gives me a headache. Cheers!
Are you guys in Ontario
Southern Manitoba,
You have a flat tire in the ole shoe. You need to monetize your channel and use some proceeds for some new kicks! Enjoyed the vid.
pour wax out top by adding water
you have to sterilization. just add one step. you need 120 degre and 15 minute boil proses. use fry
