Haha, yeah in hindsight re-watching this I was like "Man I'm losing a lot of time...haha"😂 It's ok though, was worth it for the video and helping people learn.
Thanks for the ride along again Jeff and Drew. Lots of nice fish!! Using the Torqeedo as an anchor in the grass is how to use your head and keeping less items on the yak. Catch you guys soon.

Right on! I started releasing them at 7 am instead of 8. I realize that I am up against football this time of year, so giving more Sunday morning hours to watch made sense.
Again for anybody watching this is a multiple watch video with so many nuggets !! Just watch how he works the wood and even manages photos in library good stuff again guys Thanks mike
Wow Drew is Cool! 😂. Great Fishing and Filming 🎥(Drew you can tell your Kids I said you were Cool again 😂). What a day, I wish I had that problem that Drew had catching 18-1/2 inch fish after fish! Awesome job Jeff ! Great knowledge learned. Thanks for sharing!
It doesn’t know. But water temperature has bearing on how fast or slow your presentation is. It tells you if you should fish tight to wood or mostly the deeper water with slower current.
Actually, "it might know" in the sense that we as humans have learned that if we stand against a wall that is in the sun, and blocking the wind, it will be warmer than being out in the wind and/or under a shaded tree. And like Jeff said, if nothing else that water warms a little quicker and they may a little more active on that side of the river in those rare transition months when the water temp and a few degrees could make the difference.
Yeah that is a common phrase that bass fisherman use...but I feel like "kicker" really refers to one (or maybe two) true giants as opposed to FOS is just any fish that you can still be happy with, or live with, being anywhere on your 5 fish stringer if that makes sense? haha
13 Fishing Fate V3. 7'6 for long casts but at one point (not sure it made the edit) I made some comments I should have brought some 7'1's for those tighter casts under the trees but the 7'6 was better for Day 1's long casts with the Choppo and the long casts across the heads of islands on day 2. 🙌
Yes, straight braid. It's a style I've developed for rivers that fits my personality and fast paced fishing - spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, swimbaits, jigs etc. Almost always 90% of the time use large single hook moving baits. Lose less fish, can use straight braid (better hookups, feel, landing ratio etc). Even when throwing the occasional treble hook topwater I like straight braid and they don't see the line on the surface so you can go up to 40 or 50lb test if you want to. I usually throw 30...I feel it casts a little further and I use it for all the other baits so keeps it all consistent. MH action on the rods.
He feels that it’s clutter. He fishes with multiple rods out in front of him on a fairly narrow kayak. I think he’s nuts for not having the net as a tool to scoop up those barely hooked treble hooked fish, but he plays them well, really well. He makes it work.
You also have to realize that I use straight braid and despite seeing me use a topwater treble hook bait on day 1 I use large single hook baits 90% of the time with my "style" that I've developed for tournament fishing. Spinnerbaits, Chatterbaits, Swimbaits, Jigs etc and they RARELY ever come off when you hammer them on straight braid. Usually they're fought quickly (saves time), boat flipped in, on board and back in water super fast. And yes it does de-clutter my kayak with one less thing, but I've also lost fish trying to net them be it the net knocks the bait out or when reaching for the net the fish jumps or goes under a log etc and I was focused on reaching back for a net etc...I really don't think it affects my style but if I were fishing with small trebles I would bring one (and oscassionaly do!) Good comment/question! 👍
I feel as if them 19/20 inch fish may not be tall yet, but will grow taller the more the weight class they put on each year too come I feel as if a fish grows an inch every 2/3 years I could be wrong
It’s amazing that he takes the time to explain and give a clinic while competing. Thank you!
Great footage, Jeff!

Great video Jeff. I know it was a ton of work editing all of this. Thanks too Drew as well for bringing us along. Congrats on 6th place to Drew
Thanks for watching John!
Glad to do it and I agree thanks again to Jeff for doing the "not so fun part" of following along so you guys can enjoy the videos!

It’s a heavy edit and chews up big chunks of hard drive to produce these style videos. I’m glad you appreciate it Mike.

Great video. Unbelievable day! Classic Susky flurry. That place is just a Smallie wonderland
OTM...ones that matter! Great video!
Now, see, I like that. That is the in the running and may just overtake FOS. @jefflittle what do you think? I kind like it! 👏
Great video Jeff! Love these tournament videos!
It’s tough to put down the “angler” role to give full attention to telling a story. It’s worth doing several times a year.

Haha, I'll tell them again! Yeah it was a good problem to have on this day for sure!
I think I will go for the chunky Campbells during my next tournament! :)
No doubt the way to go!!! I know, it sounded bad to me at first but once you try it you won't eat on the river any other way during a tournament!
Nice finish. The Shoalie is featured in this month’s Georgia Outdoors News Magazine. Tyler Bean fishing the Georgia coast.
The edit is so GOOD. ty Bro's
Jeff did a great job both filming and editing, narrating etc...glad you got to come along for the ride!
Thanks!
Good job
congrats!
Coffee Jeff and Drew lol
Great video! What type of navigation lights does he have attached to his hatch bungee cords? Slick way to do it!

Riddle me this.... How does a fish know what the temp is on the other side since he's not there????

Drew how do you rig your diesel minnow on chatter bait ? Tail up ? Or normal ?
Which torqueedo set up does Drew use and does he use the same for rivers vs. lakes?
It’s the Ultralight 1103. Same rig lake and river. Rock guard from Innovative Sportsman is a must!
Greg Blanchard refers to the FOS as a Kicker Fish.

How does drew store his motor reverse lock and pull up pulleys?
I rigged that boat. Standard rigging as far as lift line and reverse lock.

Never knew inflatable dams were a thing!
First one I'd ever seen too. very cool concept!

@@RiverBasserDrew thanks for the info
I’ve heard Drew uses straight braid, no leader. Can you confirm?
That is what I observed. He fishes fast with lots of bait contact with wood, rock, etc.
Rods and reels Drew uses?
