I throw a spinner bait all summer and do very well I throw smaller spinner bait with a Colorado blade in the winter and do very well it's my go to search bait for shallow water fish 8 foot of water or less if the water is clear 15 foot I've hooked more fish on a spinner bait than all other lures combined. And with inline spinners under spins beetle spins and all the other spinner baits I've hooked just about every freshwater fish that swims everything from catfish to gar. For me I don't know a more versatile lure than spinner baits.

Great tip. I also like to fish the SV3 this way. Another favorite way, is to buzz it through openings in buck brush.

I like my SV3 spinnerbaits. On a whim, last week I bought two 1/2 oz War Eagle spinner baits. I wanted to fish with the light wire harness. It has been years since I used a War Eagle spinner bait. One was all white, the other white chartreuse. Anyhow, one of the spinnerbaits would not track. The willow blades overlapped and would not spin. The other bait ran perfect and I caught fish. I had never had a new spinnerbait run bad out of the package. I am going to swap out the blades to something smaller.

I used to rock bass on a Stanley Vibrashaft ( I believe that was the model) that I had customized with smaller blades and a thinned out skirt.

How do you measure water visibility, do you simply say I can see the bait through 12” of water so there is a foot of visibility or do you do the method where the visibility is double the distance that you can see the lure down?

I've actually only done this in a small pond w schools of golden shiner- I burn a spinnerbait through a golden shiner school if I see em' feeding on the surface- I'll get one or two good bass everytime I do. I gotta try that on bigger water if I see bait sippin' the surface some mornin'

There are docks on my lake but no floating docks. Does this mean I don’t bother with this technique? Will algae not grow under these types of docs? No bait fish under shaded docks in Texas does not pass my smell test, but what do I know?

Someone lied to you. I catch more fish on spinnerbait in the summer than in spring and fall put together. And it doesn’t have to be wind. All that trash talk is false. Spinnerbait is my #1 bait year round. It’s #2 in winter to a jig and pig. And I use a pork rind on back of a spinnerbait and a trailer hook in winter and early spring.

Same. I’ve always fished a spinnerbait. One thing I like to do in the summer is use a short arm one with a single blade Colorado or Indiana blade. I burn it just under the surface and real in directly into clumps of weeds. Most of the strikes come when I pop it free. They destroy it ! Same with a jerkbait. I’ll fish that during the summer just when it’s really windy out and work it really fast. I fish a lipless all through the summer too. A spinnerbait and lipless are my two search baits I use. Fish can’t read a calendar last time I checked so I couldn’t care less what I’m SUPPOSED to use.

Too bad he can't actually demonstrate catching '' 50 to 60 bass a day '' on video.
