Kim Woj no just no that’s gross and very wrong. You have to add Clamato(clam juice with tomato juice) ketchup is good in it and some Serrano peppers not jalapeños
Nah, mexican cocktails are made just like that, it just depends on people’s preferences. Some people add serranos or jalapeños, some people add a different hot sauce, other people add octopus or some other fish.
This looks amazing! I watched your video and decided to make it tonight for my daughter's Nineteenth Birthday. I think it's going to be a big hit!!! Thx for sharing!!!
Got here a few years late (ok, 4!) doing a search of your videos for the Vodka Caesar which is fricking awesome, I am totally going to try this recipe ASAP. Thank you for your videos and for your love of good food!
C'mon man... I was raised and lived in Mexican neighborhoods for over 60 years... I tend to pronounce the words "ethnically"... Although it does irk me when the burb people do it... I'll be trying this...
I'd love to see mexican Ceviche recipe, the best I ever had was in your neck of the woods on Coranado Miguel's Cocina. If memory serves it was more than fish, it had calamari and shrimp the flavor was excellent.
Yes…anybody can make it…..you have to make it….do not use pre cooked shrimp …has to be raw shrimp that you cook yourself…don’t worry about the cost of your ingredients, think it will cost 10 times more in a Mexican restaurant and you will not get near as much food as if you do it yourself….
HELP... IF I WANT TO INCREASE THIS RECIPE TO FEED 35 TO 50 PEOPLE CAN YOU TELL ME HOW MANY TIMES WOULD NEED TO DUPLICATE YOUR RECIPE? THOUGHT I'D SERVICE IT IN 2 TO 3 OUNCE CUPS WITH SMALL SERVING SPOONS. WHAT YA THINK?
I love how sometimes he a bit disorganized. Even the most prepared chef has left sheit out. I like his banter and he has adaptability. He's a natural on camera. Reminds me of my cocky brother in law. Xoxo Sam! I enjoy his dirty mouth from time to time. Haha!
Ceviche is pretty much the same but without the clamato and the ketchup. Just a lot of lime juice and there you go. You have Ceviche. Trust me, I'm Mexican. 😉
this looks like you are trying to make ceviche. which you cook the shrimp in the lemon or lime juice and never eat with saltines!!! eat with a little bit of mayonnaise on a tortilla chip. that is traditional mexican. I'm not sure how this is traditional mexican. no offense. I love u r show and recipes!!! but when I saw this I could only shake my head. lol! have a wonderful day and God bless!
Shannon Ford Respectfully, I have to defend Sam here. This recipe is extremely authentic but it is regional to the coastal cities. He made the "slightly gringo" version using Clamato which is a bit of a shortcut. That replaces lime juice and straight clam juice. Most South Americans would still add some fresh lime at least at presentation. It really lifts all the flavors. Otherwise, Sam nailed this dish including the saltines, which started (for whatever reason) in the Yucatan.
Yu can probably say this is like a sinaloence version. Sinaloences have the habit of doing everything with clamato which guvesba good tastes even tho im not a big fan of clamato. But yu leave the water were yu boiled the shrimp. And thats it
Please Sam, PLEASE get back to your complete meal cooking! Please! This stuff is not useful at all. Bring back the soups, steaks & pasta with brats! Please!
My dad was born and raised in Mexico and this is pretty close to his shrimp cocktail recipe I grew up on which was a family tradition 😀
Yup, I travel to Guadalajara a lot and this is pretty much how they make it.
Bro relax this isn’t anything groundbreaking where do you live Wisconsin?
My daughter is at the store right now getting everything for that shrimp cocktail...
Thanks for sharing recipe ! Im making some shrimp cocktail today
Try adding orange juice ,V8 , jalapeños, and ketchup, minus the celery salt.
Kim Woj no just no that’s gross and very wrong. You have to add Clamato(clam juice with tomato juice) ketchup is good in it and some Serrano peppers not jalapeños
Never ketchup. Gross. Use the shrimp water.
Made this last night, it was DELICIOUS!!! Chilled it for about 5 hours, AMAZING!!!
The cocktail that you ate that had mixed seafood in it was a Vuelva De Vida.
I like your idea adding celery salt 👍
We make it just like that but add a dash of Worcestershire sauce and Serranos! Served with ice cold Coronas..
I love Mexican shrimp cocktail, going to definitely make this. Thanks Sam
You’re missing a long neck cold beer (corona) to accompany that coctel😉 🇲🇽 nothing like Mexican food. Provecho!
My all time favorite thing to get when i go to the mexican restaurant
I’m Mexican and my mom makes it pretty much the same way.
when i make ceviche, i use tajin for seasoning comes out great.
Red Onion homie . . . ALWAYS red onion
❤red onions
you could also use some of the water the shrimp was boiled in.
You mean broth?
Yess I'm Mexican and that's how I make mine! Adds a little more depth of flavor to it!
Nah, mexican cocktails are made just like that, it just depends on people’s preferences. Some people add serranos or jalapeños, some people add a different hot sauce, other people add octopus or some other fish.
"Would anyone call this a shrimp cocktail? Probably not." This part killed me at the end lmao
Many recipes out there but this is definitely an easy assumingly tasty one.
this is simply a mexican ceviche, and i love ceviche
LOVE IT~!!!!!!
Awesome as usual Sam
I didn't had clamato juice soo i did it with V8 juice can juice ..and it came out super good .... 😊
Man I love the older vids where we can see baby maxxy
Yum! Also great with crab instead of shrimp. :)
That’s a great idea

It looks like gazpacho with shrimp in it.
My favorite mexican restaurant serves this hot and its delicious.

Beer!!! You forgot the beer
Relax dude
You make it a delicious kotel , I loved it
This is driving me crazy!! Were you in the finlandia butter commercial?! Because you look just like him
I miss that red kitchen. This was years ago.
I think a diced jalapeño and a shot of tequila would go great in there
Damn this hot sauce has been sponsoring so many cooking shows lately, guess i gotta try it 😅😅
One more question... did you buy your shrimp precooked? Frozen and thawed? Oh my... that would be a blessing?
You have to buy them as eggs and raise them yourself, it’s the only way.
The only reason I dislike the video is because he did not use all of the ingredients on that plate. Damn that messes with me.
right! whata dick!
Tostadas
This guy personality reminds me of a mud fence ...

Nice!
Are you doing a Charles Grodin impression?
Not shrimp cocktail...Cocktail de Camaron
How much did you and Max smoke before this episode?
Cilantro = koreander

Is the Clamato juice equivalent to V8?
no. it's not quite.
. I made this for a get together and it was a huge hit. tastes almost like gazpacho. use the clamato.
Its tomato and clam juice. I know it sounds disgusting but it really is good, especially with beer!
lol too cute good job yummy
I'm also worried about the avocado turning brown... how do I prevent that from happening?
marshafisch i usually just keep mine covered up for like 2 days and the avocado is still nice and green
Use a lot of lemon juice or lime juice.
Lime juice
It will turn brown (oxidizes) when exposed to Oxygen.
The lemon in it will keep it good
Dude...just put actual celery in it!
Ceviche?
Ceviche is pretty much the same but without the clamato and the ketchup. Just a lot of lime juice and there you go. You have Ceviche. Trust me, I'm Mexican. 😉
I wonder if the avocado would still turn brown, even though it's in the sauce :P
Put it in as you eat it. But the line juice keeps it from turning
Some horseradish would be good in there.
You don't like adding a little more kick to it ??? Where's the jalapeños ese or serranos senior 🤔
You forgot to chill the cocktail in the fridge for a few hours.
That coctel de camarón is missing a splash of Squirt soda
Definitely Not mexican! But a delicious TexMex Shrimp Salad
lopas rokas explain how this defers from mexican ahrimp coctail
This is Mexican shrimp cocktail. Idk what your thinking of
In Baja this is a Mexican Shrimp cocktail depends on the region.
this looks like you are trying to make ceviche. which you cook the shrimp in the lemon or lime juice and never eat with saltines!!! eat with a little bit of mayonnaise on a tortilla chip. that is traditional mexican. Shannon Ford Lol he didnt invent this or something.
Shannon Ford I'm Mexican and that's how I make my shrimp cocktail exactly but I use Tabasco sauce instead..
Yu can probably say this is like a sinaloence version. Sinaloences have the habit of doing everything with clamato which guvesba good tastes even tho im not a big fan of clamato. But yu leave the water were yu boiled the shrimp. And thats it
I've never heard or math on a tortilla chip? Doesn't sound too appealing.
looks gross
Please Sam, PLEASE get back to your complete meal cooking! Please! This stuff is not useful at all. Bring back the soups, steaks & pasta with brats! Please!
Well fuck you if you don’t like Mexican food
