Not enough amps Dave but good job for what you have millwrightmac at Las Vegas millwrights I wish I was there with you dude ( jimmy mac ) welder for 40 years , thanks for videos buddy
when we welded on a truck with any equipment on it we always disconnected the battery in case the welding current killed the alternator. welding anything rusty with a wire feed is always dicey. use 6x6 angle iron inside layed flat to support the floor to the sides
You made it….made the customer happy….that’s all that matters. Get paid and move on and upward👍🙏 Find our Lord and Father. You’ll notice over time your life will get easier my friend…I promise. With a sincere heart!❤️ I learned the hard way grinding for 50yrs😐
Is not worth cutting holes at the bottom of the channels in 3 spot to let it drain? Or does it not supply enough strength? I think 6” channel a 2” hole at the floor would be strong enough?
watched about 10 of your videos I like your style. your editing has gotten really good. can you say the profit you make when fixing up trucks or will the tax man get you? only bad I can say is always use a mask even when tacking up! I have arc eye from 3 years of welding and its photophobia every day.
dave you might find a twisted wire wheel better for removing the paint and rust for weld prep on the metal bins there but nice work saving pennies is always good
@@Dumpster_Dave They're called a 'cup brush'. You can get them with a M14 thread, that just screws straight on your grinder (- they're viscous though - keep them away from you!).
I almost never have a negative comment but this is so bad that you can use or rent out something in such bad condition.. there is far from enough welding.. you should have been fined or lost your business license for a period sometimes it is better to say no to a job.. and think about the safety of you, the customers, others on the road and the garbage facility, there is not much that holds this together
Love your “can do” attitude. No whining, no begging for customers, no ads, and finally no swearing. Wish you all the best. Hard work does pay off.
No Adam-bum79 crap
Always wondered who did all your patches, now I know.
Nice quick repair , like you say at least you didn't lose the job. Further repairs can wait lol .
Dumpster welding is the best welding!🫡
keep on grindin! that dumpster is gonna need a lot of love but youll get it
DOT would pull you over in a heartbeat with that container on a truck!
DOT really only pulls us over if there’s stuff falling out of the door but never got pulled over for a rusty dumpster.
But to be honest I haven’t been back to pick it up so not sure what it looks like lol
Another great video, thank you for sharing, i learn a lot 👍👍👍👍

Thanks for the info
I turned the battery switch off. Do you think thats enough or should I disconnect the battery terminals?
lots of trucks don't have a night switch, your good. it was always a pain in the ass to get all the connections you had to take off.

That dumpster has about had it? Cut it up for parts on others 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧
recycle - reuse. Way to go.
If waste management is calling it scrap, it's definitely scrap
Lol

Most dumpsters have little holes at the bottom of the channels to let the water out
You should really wear a mask when welding
what kind of welder do you use
Are use a Lincoln welder I also have a Hobart but the Lincoln is way better
What do you recommend for severe rotted gaps between plates on the bevel floor of a dumpster. Where the plate has nothing but rust to fuse to
To be honest probably have to cut all the rusted metal out and replace with new metal.
if you were to come in from up the hill, rather than from down the hill probably would work better.
Yeah I tried the other way, it was super tight. I pulled 8 out of there.
