It makes me genuinely happy to watch him play guitar. I play with my pinky stuck out in "fancy position" too. It's a bad habit honestly, but I've been playing like that for like 16 years now so my pinky shall remain fancy for the rest of my life.
Another thing that I appreciate, is he's just playing the song as is. He's not trying to make his hands look like it's some super complicated spazztic playing. I hate watching that in music videos. It's the equivalent of watching someone play video games in a movie, and they're just mashing all the buttons.
