I wrote the drill for the 1992 BOA Grand Champion Centerville HS. Good, clean effect with proper musicality and instrument staging while creating correct flow, tension and velocity. That wins championships and best general effect awards.
I was in Carmel for a few of the winning years, holy shit they work is the fck out to get everything perfect, I’ve heard from my friend who works at Carmel that they’re gonna go Super fucking hard for 2024 because they got 2nd last year
My director who won several class A chips at nationals would always harp to us. Transitions are the difference in winning. You get your transitions visually correct you’re golden or at least have a really good shot. He’s since retired, and then came out retirement to lead another band, but it’s still true to this day. (Bourbon alum here).
It's an off-year for BA. They don't have internal state competition (Jenks and Union don't get close) so there's no point wasting perfectly designed shows for their Disney world trip. I think that might be why? Not sure.
The segment you are highlighting, although executed relatively cleanly, is not really the most challenging visual content. I think you're severely overhyping this performance clip.
Carmel takes no risk musically so those visuals will always be epic! At this point The Eagle is really between The Woodland (GE)) and Carmel (visuals) imo. Hebron takes music handown but In 3rd place? Solid possible podium programs are Avon and Pearland! It’s gonna be crazy and anything is possible.
Idk, this is not the same Hebron that preformed Among the Stars, their visuals are a lot crispier and they’ll also get a lot of credit for doing all the insane music they do on the move, something that you couldn’t say in 2019. Avon and Pearland are defo fire. Also keep an eye on Blue Springs for this year.
@@6band I absolutely agree. I completely forgot about BS, WM, CTJ and RR bringing it too. Im still trying to wrap up this first week of UIL sessions. UIL 6a State finals are going to be ridiculous!!!

Correct it is, its on and split not that hard to set up. What is hard to set up and what I was highlighting in the video is how hard it is to line up diagonals to not look like a mess going into it. So yes, it is a for step interval and yes it is very difficult to have everybody in the band do that perfectly. And this was in the first performance of the season. So yes, I am serious.
@@Crown_678when they scored 89.25 at Dallas Fort Worth earlier this season I’m going to guess now they score within 93-95 at grand nats they’ve had a good year and they’ve worked hard they just aren’t there visually everything else is great
Perhaps it didn't age perfectly, but it is true. Carmel is usually slow and methodical, with excellent spacing. I help with another band that plays faster while moving quickly, but usually loses visual to Carmel.
And they march EVERYBODY, nobody has to audition...I live near enough to listen everynight. love it.
Grand Nationals this year is going to be epic
Carmel is not the only group doing these simple formations but I’m happy for your enthusiasm
They just march straight lines i marched with carmel 4 years. Keep time march straight

Super fucking hard for 2024 because they got 2nd last year
And don't forget, they now have an INDOOR practice facility--no more weather interrupting drill rehearsal.
That’s new lmao that came after every championship
OH SHIT
My band always fangirled over Carmel.
The screaming at boa indy this year when they came out for finals was deafening

Carmel practiced 640 hours this season. They are awesome!
I got to watch them, I was at finals with my band as well, we got 11th
I got 2nd
Meanwhile my band of like 50 people struggling to stay in step and make any lines 🫠 I love being a band-addict in a tiny, failing band program
standing on yardlines 😱
If thats what you got out of this than you missed the point.
I almost went to Louisville for BOA but my high school cancelled for weather
Thank you
You should watch deer creeks show. We made semis
All of that you pointed to was low velocity and dirty, haha
lets talk about how tarpon full pointed broken arrow at regionals
wild stuff

This is half the marching bands in Texas……
Newsflash
What has been your favorite show from this year?
Probably Tarpon
@@6band love tarpon, them and vista ridge get praise but they sound so freaking full and clean and they honestly deserve more

Sorry but their shows are still boring
clean, but boring
Real, just watched it today, wasn’t even good
I watched it last night. Couldn’t believe they won semifinals..
@@PappyOdaniel669 I thought hebron was gonna win, and I was surprised when they said caramel.
Ye
I just competed against them today and I would say that my band is personally better in showing more emotion than Carmel
which band?

Tarpon Springs will win BOA. Carmel will be 2 or 3. Avon will be 3 or 2. 2024.
Well Carmel was 2, Avon swept
@ I was wrong about a lot. After watching finals. I thought 1. Avon 2. Broken Arrow 3. Tarpon Springs 4. Carmel
