Total Musicianship from the word Go. How can you go wrong? When you have an ensemble of technical great musicians you already have another musician astounded by this. I am and this is a very positive articulate arrangement from your vault of music. thank you for playing pro records. no loud loud metal sounds here Musicianship from the sound of first chair first class musicians. this is evident.
This is a great recording and a very impressive sound from a 78rpm record. I doubt this record has been played too much to sound this good. I cannot hear any surface noise. Few 45s or lp's sound any better.
Certes, mais il s'agit quand-même d'un 78 tours de 1950 (le premier microsillon date de 1948 aux USA, et vers 1951 en France), et les qualités techniques étaient meilleures que ceux de 1910 !
I would think it has to do with what type of record player a record is played on. 78's were made of shellac and were stronger and heavier than vinyl. They needed to be so they could be played with those strong diamond tipped phonograph needles. More modern record players had thinner more flexible needles. If the shellac 78's could take constant playings with those old needles, then these modern needles barely cause any wear and tear.
Hi. Thank you. When I found it the original magnetic cartridge was destroyed. I mounted there (only for the video) one GE VRII with a very high tracking force, 25 gr.!! I would like to find the original pickup.
78s Seem To Last Longer With Proper Care Than LPs.I Played A Few LPs 10 Times And There Was A Noticable Degration In Sound Quality,But I Played A Few 78s 20 Or 30 Times And There Was No Degration Of Sound Quality.
Beautiful arrangement.
The day i wasn't born -_- 2007
This is not the Popeye song. It’s the sailors hornpipe.
Extraordinaire! Merci!
Belíssimo!

Does not appear any date in the label but I think it´s about 1940´s. I´ll share more recordings of Wallberg orchestra.
Thank you.
It is 1946.
grandioso
I´ve played it only about five times!
They need this for the main theme in the new Popeye 3D movie they're making now

This song is also on Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" album.
Sailor's hornpipe.
Magical sound! The plate is in very good condition. May I ask: What kind of pickup in your record player? What used needle? Thanks in advance.
Wonderful recording! What year was this recorded? No later than the 50's I presume.
Recorded 10 January 1950 in the Theatre des Champs-Elysees, Paris, and originally issued as French Columbia BFX-29.

What is the label on this record?
Spanish Regal.
Hi! It was manufacturated from 1943 till...?
Yes, the changer system is better for the records than the Luxor robot. The shelf pusher.
Thank you!

This rendition has the most 'muskle' of any I've heard. What a great post! Please accept this raised can of spinach. Cheers!

La gomme-laque était certes, plus cassante, lourde et rugueuse, mais le sillon étant plus large était plus robuste... par rapport à un vynile.
Is this a 12" 78? I cannot find any information about this recording.
