  • Photos can be cluttered and lack form in trees, rocks or shrubbery, so it helps to be able to know where the light is coming from, simplify the shapes and values to create more form and suggest the plane that they are on and then use color temperature to create depth in the painting.

    I’m so glad to have found you. Your explanations are amazing. Even though I do watercolor, I have subscribed because it all seems universal. What program is that being used to create the colors you use to overwrite on your photos? Thanks!

      He uses photoshop

      He recommends 'GIMP' which is free and can do almost as much as Photoshop. Check it out.
