Care for doing a frequency response in REW in a few different rooms at normal and max level to give us an indication of the linearity and compression when things get going?
Why didn't you choose wireless lamp system from IKEA to be able to control your light from SONOS app, Amazon Alexa or IKEA's own app? You seem to want it
Other than pride of ownership kind of makes you question owning a 5-10K hifi system. Why are they so much cheaper than Sonos Play5? Is it because they sound inferior and look like a lamp or because of Ikea mega purchasing/distribution power?
It’s always been a question in this hobby because when you go up on higher price point, we’re not always going get the best price to performance ratio.
@@Tharbamar It would be quite a lesson in humility for any diehard audiophile to admit they traded in their 10k system for a pair of Ikea lamps because they sounded as good if not better. The emperor has no clothes?
@@mikecees2230 These Symfonisk speakers aren't as good as the Play5 in general and possibly even the Play3. In terms of performance, they won't trouble actual hifi systems with carefully selected components. But they have a very pleasing frequency range and decent enough dynamics to keep people entertained, which is all most non-audiophiles require. Audiophiles will be intrigued to know how they sound when in a stereo pair, just to see if they can give a holographic sound stage.
@@mrpositronia ''keep people entertained'' that's what hi-fi should be about. With the exception of a few systems heard at audio shows most are anything but entertaining and when you read reviews it's all about how deep the bass can go or how detailed a component is but ''entertaining'' is one spec that can't be quantified. Most dealers will have you going around in circles swapping components instead of offering well curated, affordable, turnkey packages that just ''work'' together. They'll ask you what amp or speakers you own then proposition what they think might work. Some will ask you to bring your amp in store(in their listening room) to try out with different speakers or vice versa. Borrowing a number of components from different stores or internet vendors for in home comparative almost impossible unless you are a reviewer. This is why I think all-in-one products with built in DSP will become more and more the norm for regular audio consumers and diehard audiophiles alike who are just tired of spending big money systems that require stands and racks and cables and room treatment etc only to end up sounding unmusical, sterile and boring. I'm not there yet but am seriously beginning to think about it.
@@mikecees2230 People can be entertained by watching someone cook, or by watching someone fix a watch. Some people can also be entertained by delighting in finely detailed sound reproduction, as well as just a good tune. It's each to their own. No one is wrong, on this occasion.
Sonos does not support Android 6.01. This reflects badly on the manufacturer, because after 3-4 years we are left with a useless system. I gave the equipment to IKEA - Sonos effectively discouraged me from solving: application - sound system. This solution brings profits only to the manufacturer.
I purchased the Lamp i am very happy with the sound .
Tharbamar rocking the bedroom will bass lamps. 11:30 you appear smiley/happy,good to see buddy. Thank you for the great review.

Very good item for bedrooms!
You should be able to connect wifi controlled led globes. Just keep the switch on & control through your phone.
That’s great idea 💡 thanks

Thanks for the review 🤘👍👍
You should definitely try Sonos ONE instead in the bedroom, you will be surprised ;)
Do you get stereo from two of them or just mono sound x 2? These would make great rears in a lounge cinema surround setup.
I haven’t try two of them yet.

because Ikea don't recommend it.
How is the sound disperced ? Is it 360 degrees or 180 or how?
It’s like 180.

EddieTours Sonos has been around a while with generally well received products.
