- Actor/Inuit mask carver/writer Eric Schweig and his friend Rolf Bouman are discussing, at the Friends United International Convention Centre, Eric’s life and upbringing. Eric talks about his forced adoption, violent upbringing, resulting emotional scars, and how he was completely disconnected from his Inuit roots and family. Eric discusses with Rolf his alcohol addiction up until 25 years ago and how he rebuilt his life afterwards. When Eric is not acting, he is mentoring children and helping homeless people living on the streets, as he shared the same fate as a teenager. Eric’s story brings much hope, and this is why his friend Rolf asked him to have this camera talk. A truly inspiring story with many highs and lows of Eric’s life. When not acting, Eric is living with Rolf and other Indigenous artists. He created many masks and sculptures during this time which are being featured in the interview and can be viewed at the Friends United International Convention Centre in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada.

So great to see and hear him speak of helping the kids. The masks are so incredible beautiful!! Much respect to you and hope you're having a good year for 2024.
Lovely to know more about this talented actor’s offscreen life and about his art and community involvement. His perspective on helping young people explore their creativity is powerful.
This was an awesome interview! Loved and admired this man for 30 yrs. Wish him, his kids and family the best. Would be cool to meet him just once. He over came a lot and is a good man!
Honestly have so much admiration for him. I wish him all the best.
Greatest regard to this lovely man. Can truly say that i love this man, especially his mind. Physically he is also gorgeous. Wish his work would be shown more to the main stream. Ps: I am 81 yo half Cherokee. I relate to much that has been said. Hugs always.
🙏Thanks GOD for you RAY DEAN THRASHER!

Amazing, talented, profound spiritual person. My admiration and respect to him. ❤
It has been a pleasure to learn about this man, ray dean thrasher. This man is clearly a beautiful soul and has made the world a brighter place just by his souls incarnation in this life❤
He is a beautiful human being through and through. Thank you for featuring him and his art. Art for me personally (painting), allows me to express what I try to write, but never manage to truly say.
Beautiful work with children and animals, the biggest victims of chaos in the world.
It's good to see how happy he is doing what he likes a hug from a brazilian admirer of your work.
It's nice to hear about Eric out of the movie industry, being generous with all of us by sharing his life experience. I'm truly touched.
Be still my beating heart! I adored this man 30 years ago, and still do. Even more gorgeous now!
Desde que assistir o filme o último dos moicanos , sou apaixonada por ele até hoje❤
I have admired Eric's work for some time and have heard him speak of his childhood and life's battles. It's great to see him creating such beautiful work. My sisters and I are reconnecting with our maternal heritage after our mom passed as family issues subverted much of what our grandmother was able to pass down before her death. Not having a connection to your heritage often feels like a boat with a broken rudder. We take connection as it comes. Blessings!
Admirable!

Ammirevole 💞
Wonderful and touching words! Thank you! ❤
Es un hombre guapo, fuerte. Con una historia de vida desgarradora 😭pero a ayudado tanto. Es admirable 🤗 como no enamorarse de el 🥰😍
Hola, desde Oaxaca, México. Extraordinario actor y mejor persona. Un ejemplo de resiliencia. Greetings from México to this extraordinary actor and wonderful human being. A model to follow
Thank you for Tillicum's piece. And people used to say what's wrong with that thing.
God bless you Mr. Eric and to those who overcome shall be given the Tree of Life.
I did not realize that “The Sixties Scoop” Eric referred to was where Indigenous children were taken away from their birth families and adopted out to (primarily white) strangers.
This is an unthinkable atrocity, and I look forward to future updates on his collaboration.
Love Eric.
Wonderful interview and incredible masks. I love the power of masks. Eric is doing so much good work. Are there social media platforms where we can follow him and support his work? There are currently two Instagram accounts claiming to be him, and couldn't find him on Twitter. I'd love to be able to share links and awareness about his art and charitable causes
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🌹👏
Te Amo

His masks used to look terrifying, now they are less so. Hopefully it means he heals
