  • Actor/Inuit mask carver/writer Eric Schweig and his friend Rolf Bouman are discussing, at the Friends United International Convention Centre, Eric’s life and upbringing. Eric talks about his forced adoption, violent upbringing, resulting emotional scars, and how he was completely disconnected from his Inuit roots and family. Eric discusses with Rolf his alcohol addiction up until 25 years ago and how he rebuilt his life afterwards. When Eric is not acting, he is mentoring children and helping homeless people living on the streets, as he shared the same fate as a teenager. Eric’s story brings much hope, and this is why his friend Rolf asked him to have this camera talk. A truly inspiring story with many highs and lows of Eric’s life. When not acting, Eric is living with Rolf and other Indigenous artists. He created many masks and sculptures during this time which are being featured in the interview and can be viewed at the Friends United International Convention Centre in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada.
