I'm back from Worlds & ready to dive into Regulation H with all of you! Battling content will start very shortly, but to get started, I wanted to look at the results of the largest Reg H tournament to date and analyze them.
I just wanna say Aaron Cybertron is amazing in competitive Pokémon I in 2015 through 2024 I’ve been watching you in gen 6 when I was 9 years old and you never gave up on your competitive career and how amazing you were and watching your videos helped me into competitive Pokémon glad to see you back
Analysis videos like this are right up your alley and I hope you continue to do more as they become relevant, and I'm always down for a CybertronVGC video no matter the type of content
@@himmyturnerinc that was really fun. I loved pointing out to my kids, "That's CybertronVGC, where we got all our competitive team building ideas!" Yeah, basically I got into Pokemon for my kids because I couldn't share my hobby of fantasy football with them. I'm a naturally competitive person, but I was surprised with how much I could relate VGC and football strategically.
Regulation H feels like a great place to jump in if you haven't played competitive before/ in a while. I think analyses like this are super important and interesting, and I always appreciate them! It reminds me of your team building guides from the beginning of seasons/ regulations. Getting insight from veteran players is great for people learning, and seeing resources like this I think will help people take the plunge. I think branching out just from battles is a great move, just make sure you stick with it: so many UA-cam channels end up pigeon-holing themselves into one type of content, and any deviations from that content don't do well. I think this is similar enough to your battle videos that given enough time and frequency the views will balance out. Like I said earlier, I think videos like your team building guides and tournament analyses like this being sprinkled in frequently would be really cool. Thanks for what you do, you're a great resource for all of VGC!
It was so amazing to get to meet you at worlds, I appreciate you taking the time to take a photo, and I cant wait go see what great things you'll do next, cheers!
This was awesome Aaron! I think having like a monthly analysis video going over meta trends, things to watch out for, event results, and your thoughts would be an amazing resource!
You are an expert on VGC Doubles and I would love to see more insight videos, including popular cores, unique pokemon, what makes them good, what weaknesses players are currently exploring and more. I don't play doubles much, being more of a singles player, but I find this kind of content very interesting and can imagine a natural teacher like you putting forward the information in a very accessible way. I recognize that this is a lot of the point of your typical videos, but as they are focused on a particular team the bigger picture may be lost somewhere in the granular detail you are able to share.
35:43 Yo that's my pledge team right there! It's a really fun team to use and i have updated it a couple of times since, it now has weezing ability shield indeedee-M for sneasler matchups. But yea the main focus is trigger Swamp pledge and let indeedee-M and sylveon to sweep. you can even use trick room if there is 1 turn of pledge left! So far i have won 6 Other tournaments with this team and it's really strong. I even went undefeated in 2 of those tournaments. Anyways to those curious yes i do have a paste (with ev's) of the team in my twitter, and i might post an updated version soon too! (Might also make a video on it since it's doing so well)
IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS REG. this is the second time im watching this... i have alrdy whipped bruxish back out, ive been playing around with SO many of my older teams. i personally dont find the game enjoyable once the power lvl scales too high myself, so this is like, peak gaming for me. this vid was so helpful, and prepared me (a lil bit) for all the arc/peli i been seeing, its everywhere. or maybe we see palafin and meow again, they fell off the face of the earth so fast rip. BUT ANYWAYS, im glad i can actually find success with my silly goofy quirky teams, instead of them just being immediately outscaled by the power mons. even tho i havent been as active these last few regs, ive still absolutely loved your content, thank you SO much. also, i think the reason this video is so nice is bc your regular videos capture a lot of the mechanics we can see. so we learn by the showcase, etc. but this vid is more about the theory, the potential of what is to come, what we HAVENT seen or be showcased. its a different kind of learning, im not sure im putting it into words correctly but the potential for variety is the highest its been in AWHILE, and its enthralling to see where everyone's currently at VS where this reg is headed. also, concerning chin-po (or chi-yu) partners, ive been messing around with stonejournr, and it catches people off guard. also uses focus sash extremely well AND gets wide guard. its been an MvP for sure, heavy slam for fairies, or rock slide with its decent speed for flinches. ive used it before (on a gravity team of all things) so maybe its just cause im comfortable with it, but i like it! low kick/sweep also good for stuff like ursa or gambit. it does run into the murkrow problem sometimes tho where you are just out on the field not being targeted while ur team dies around you so0o0o anywho enough rambling, but i just had to comment something cause im too excited, i cannot contain the thoughts.
Really feel like I have a good grasp on the early meta thanks to this vid. You know, sometimes when people do explainer or recap vids like this, they're hard to focus on, but when you do them, you're quick, knowledgable, and engaging, so I watch and learn the whole way through. I hope you keep doing them when you feel like it! Maybe you could put an icon in the thumbnail to distinguish them from battle vids. Maybe a chibi Aaron with a clipboard?
Love seeing our friend LabMaus and his work highlighted here, truly a powerful tool! Love the coverage, this Reg is gonna be incredible! Loved the video. :)
i love this stuff, even on the battle videos i usually like the team analysis part even more than the actual battles (which makes it funny when you say "you can skip to the battles") -- would love to see more of it.
Thanks for the input and welcome back! Unfortunately, I didn't run into you during Worlds, would have loves a brief chat/ photo. Maybe in Anaheim then :D Looking forward to the upcoming Reg H videos!!
Commenting to say please keep doing breakdown videos and other styles of content you enjoy. Battles are great and informative but this style works great!
I really enjoy getting your perspective on things, and having some videos without love battling as a distraction from that would actually be really refreshing.
I LOVE this! I would love to see more tournament breakdowns, analysis on the meta, best of threes, and or exhibition matches with other content creators!
This kind of content is just what i need at the moment! Battle content was good for me in the past because i could watch it while doing housework. But now with so much more less time and work, analysis or podcast-like videos are what i need now. Plus, i have been starving for regulation H content because everyone was focused on worlds 😅 Just do what you like and want, i am sure there will be an audience for different things. I have been following you since 2014 or 2015. I got to know VGC because of you, and then met other great VGC content creators. Some of them which no longer upload like Markus or Baz anderson. It would be great if you could make again draft leagues or vgc tournaments with other content creators, those days are ingraved in my memory with joy. Would be great to see again Team cyberbaz, team dreamball, team jamie or new teams. I miss those kind of collaborations which further make us know even more VGC players or people from this community
A "How to put together a team from scratch" kinda video or maybe a playlist (i think its called) of videos with team building tips would be awesome man! I love playing competitive with my friends making different teams like all poison teams, all fish, must have Wings teams etc. And honestly i kinda suck at team building. I know theres content out there from other creators but honestly i always come back to you.
Hi Aaron, I really love the match breakdown that you did during the wcs of sword and shield, I hope to see them more. Thank you for the wonderful content
Really liked this more analytic/informative version of your content as much as I love your normal RtR contents:) Sometimes I just want something to tune into without full focusing every turn of events that are happening while still being informative. Been having a lot of fun in the format without watching any deep dives, so something like this is still very much appreciated it actually is really interesting to have the power level lowered so introduced mons like archaludon have the time to shine they probably would have back if they were included when SV launched
Really glad Cybertron meta analysis is back. These styles of videos were some of my favorites back in the swsh era! Still doesn’t beat the PowerPoints though!
WE’RE SO BACK (also you should you look at Charizard and Sunny day whims. Charizard can ohko Archaladon with heat wave, and ohko palafin with over heat)
I love tournament breakdowns. I also really like you taking “your top 10 teams” at the moment or something like that. And explaining why the team is good or bad.
I'm glad you covered the team with H=Zoroark. Zoroark is my favorite mon, and I'm considering getting into VGC and in game battles with reg H, Worlds got me fired up. In my eyes, H-Zoroark kinda walls Annihalape, at least common sets that only run fighting and ghost moves. Looking forward to what this format has to offer!
This honestly feels like a long standing video series you've been running for a few formats. Would say you are really close on a final version of the format! Looks like that time at the commentator's desk really lvld you up :D
This was a really interesting video, would like to see more things like this perhaps inter cut with some showdown team builder footage to show possible more development on thr team
I’m really hype for the new format it just kinda sucks that it seems like things are going to stay the same as how they did in the beginning of SV.
