I have to disagree with you on your assesment of Veron. IMO his time at United is misunderstood by people who did not watch those seasons closely. His first season was a mixed bag - Our biggest issue that year, however, was selling Stam so Verons form coincided with the team just not being solid enough. His second season however, not only in the UCL in which he was (along with RVN) genuinely United's best player, he really picked up form in the Prem. He ran the show vs Arsenal and Chelsea and was really picking up to the pace of the Prem around xmas that year. If I remember correctly he got injured vs Leeds and although Ferguson put him back in the team over Beckham vs Real Madrid in the QTR final - he never regained his fitness nor his place in the team. In any case, if you watch the games he played I really don't see how he can be considered bad. Did he live up to his massive expectation? No, maybe not. But I still would not consider him a terrible signing and without his contribution to United in the 03 season I really think they would not have won the title. Injury and circumstance shortened his career at United. I think it was a mistake selling him to Chelsea.
Taibi was a bit of a car crash at United but was a good gloveman, ask anyone who was into Italian football back in the day. Can't help but wonder if he'd been given a few months to acclimatise and learn fluent English, could it have ended differently.
I don't think it's accurate to say Utd we're not big spenders prior to 2000. Their 1990 FA Cup winning squad was the most expensively assembled squad in history at the time. They regularly broke transfer records with likes of Hughes and Ince and Keane and Cole etc. Money wasn't the problem for Utd prior to '93.
I remember Sjemba Djemba and Liam Miller from the danish league they were both relatively sucessfull allthough Miller was only on loan (alonside Scott Sellars from Bolton) with AGF in Aarhus RIP Liam Miller
In defence of Kleberson for the discussion at least. £6.5mil (£10.5 in todays money) for a World Cup winner - who started in the final - isn't too bad. Plus they got near 50% of their fee back after 2 years so all in all not too bad a punt for one of the richest clubs in the world.
Veron was class. Ferguson just played him in the wrong position, on the left, when he had no pace. He was a footballer, not an athlete. Sadly, our current squad has far too many of the later.
Football business is crazy because owners don't make money. Alan Sugar repeatedly said he wasted his time and energy be the owner of Tottenham for ten years, which means Mike Ashely is a very strong man owns Newcastle United for about 15 years.

What do you mean liam miller as an honourable mention??
Jumped ship when he saw city coming
Top premier league scorer over the age of 35 every season. Sure Kevin Phillips will top that league
Cr7 might have summin to say lol
Arsene wengers worst 7 signings, should be a challenge considering he signed a number of duds
Oleg Luzhny at number one
Commenting before watching. Massimo Taibi.
Alfie, can you please do Sam Allardyce's 7 best and worst signings?
Even the Goat of managers can make mistakes
7 best players in porto who won 🏆in 2004
i would like to see a list like "best english players that thrived outside UK"
Sancho is right up there
Steve mcmanaman would probably top that list
Sancho is quite obvious even if we need some time to validate our opinion
Jonathan Woodgate 😆
_- Beckham_
_- Owen_
_- McManaman_
_- Keegan_
_- Lineker_
Need I go on?
I remember Sjemba Djemba and Liam Miller from the danish league they were both relatively sucessfull allthough Miller was only on loan (alonside Scott Sellars from Bolton) with AGF in Aarhus RIP Liam Miller
Rodrigo Possebon....need I say more
Just realized Ruud looks like Jerry Seinfeld
Thomas tuchel best xi of all time
A non league documentary on how Sutton united won the league last season and how the league started in October 2020 last year.
Forlan was pretty good
Bebe come outside, we just want to talk 🤣
Kleberson's story is a bit "what the fuck"...
Oh come on worst signings where was the signing of the 45 year old scottish keeper in Andy Goram or burger boy mark bosnic
Veron was there one season…he was good.
Anderson was there maybe a few years to long, but those first 2-3 years, he was amaszing.
Veron is world class player. But British football just didn’t suit him.
In defence of Kleberson for the discussion at least. £6.5mil (£10.5 in todays money) for a World Cup winner - who started in the final - isn't too bad. Plus they got near 50% of their fee back after 2 years so all in all not too bad a punt for one of the richest clubs in the world.
All these dont actually look so bad when you compare it to the load of tripe signings that happened post Fergie
The veron signing worked. Both Keane and Scholes upped their game to keep their place in the squad
Day 5: Best non-FIFA affiliated ant, teams eg I’ve had Martinique are quite good
Does Catalonia count?
Yeah I guess if they are clawed a national team but not affiliated by FIFA I guess their eleiglibr
Could be a great shout! I understand the Scottish Islands have their own national teams that play against Monaco, Bonaire etc
In honour of Davies’ beauty of a goal against Panama, the seven hardest working goals since 2000.
I was crying laughing everytime he said Jemba Jemba lmao
Why? Its not that funny.
It’s Mikel SilvesTRE. Not Silvester :)
Kleberson.lol. looked Dynamite at 2002 World Cup,HILARIOUS he was so bad at Utd.
Respect to Bebe
Straight off the bat I can think of
Diawara
Chamahk
Frannie Jeffers
Richard Wright
Veron was class. Ferguson just played him in the wrong position, on the left, when he had no pace.
He was a footballer, not an athlete.
Sadly, our current squad has far too many of the later.
Even Ferguson is only human.
Who you personally think should have won the ballon dor for each year
HiTC sevens most random video ever about 10 years too late 😂
Can you do an episode of the seven worst signings made by my Sunday league footy manager?
No Owen Hargreaves?
I guess that Hargreaves was decent whenever he was fit to play..
Dummy
You should do 7 most under rated signs by sir Alex
Cantona 1.2 million!
Football business is crazy because owners don't make money. Alan Sugar repeatedly said he wasted his time and energy be the owner of Tottenham for ten years, which means Mike Ashely is a very strong man owns Newcastle United for about 15 years.
Day 2: Downfall of South African Football
Simple. Putting incompetent and people who know nothing about football in positions to make critical decisions. People who make crucial decisions. It's simple as that
Perhaps there could be the worst next big thing player.
I can't decide his worst signings ever, between Bebe and Moyes
Veron was brilliant when he was played in centre midfield, the problem was Ferguson didn't no how to fit him in..
Hm, no Dion Dublin? And I am a fan of Dion's too, but he didn't fit at Man U (old-fashioned battering ram forwards haven't worked there since the time of Matt Busby!)
Sorry Alfie..your introduction was WRONG. Sir Alex Ferguson is THE GREATEST manager of all time. He even topped you managers all time list video from last yr or something.
Sorry for being prickly abt this detail...but I am a UTD fan.
Also you left out Phil Jones...
Jones was decent under SAF
Saying the greatest is a matter of opinion. Bob Paisley won 3 European cups in a much shorter period of time. Had he managed q club for 27 years he could be considered the greatest.
It always baffles me when people say Man United are the biggest club in the world. What is that based on exactly?
Most successful English team ever, Always in the top 3 richest football teams in the world! Supporter base worldwide. Associated with excellent football ethics. Don't forget he said arguably!
@@polaris7122 they are of course a huge club, but certainly not the biggest. They definitely are not bigger than clubs like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in terms of achievements at least…
I like United, but I commented because I keep hearing this over and over, that they are arguably the biggest club in the world.
Fabien Barthez was a bad signing. Actually all post-Schmeichel gks were bad until VDS came.
It just goes to show no matter how good a player is,he might not be any good at a club whose just signed him, especially with foreign players they have to settle in learn the language and integrate into the team at the same time, for a lot of players it just doesn't work out for a multitude of reasons, every signing is a gamble many people in football have said that
Day 6: Top 7 protest clubs (FC United of Manchester, AFC Liverpool).
Does AFC Wimbledon count?
Before finishing video, I'm guessing Nick Powell and Wilfred Zaha
Prunier was only ever on loan, Milne was signed in Fergie's second summer.
Worse than Milne, bad reputation undeserved
european giants waiting for kleberson happily getting married with a sixteen to take him to europe was a thing
Best German players in the premier league of all time. (Day 210)
I will not give up until the video is made or Alfie himself tells me to stop. Everyone else telling me that will be ignored.
If you don't believe my number, just go back to the previous videos. I'm at the bottom most of the time, but I'm there.
o7 keep fighting the good fight
Respect, it’s gotta happen
Everyday for 7 months. Respect mate. You deserve a reply at least
Day 241: Ways to fix VAR with your suggestions
Isn’t varon colour blind and can’t see red properly. So struggled to see the difference between his teammates and the opponent in games
He doesn't say Moyes!
Verón wasn't "a worst buy". He was amazingly gifted player, maybe with Scholes the best in SAF's 'reign'. Maybe shoe-horning him into XI wasn't easily done. At least he got more minutes than
Solksjær misuse of Donny.
These signings are amazing compared to post fergie years. Maguire, wan bissaka spring to mind
