I would ask, “What is one thing you want me to know more than anything else that I don’t know already?” God in His infinite wisdom is aware of what I need to know, and what I should not know (yet or ever), and I would rather trust his judgement than my own on what one thing I should be told 😊

Do you not love your pets, even though they are stupid? Same with your own children. Your love for them is not dependent on them. It is from you, regardless of how stupid or awful they are. If anything, it is what they do with their limitations that gives meaning to their relatively small accomplishments. (I.e. first steps of a baby, dog sits on command, kid tells you they love you unprompted, etc)

Yes this is a good question and so hard to understand. My brother in law is severely autistic and one of my sisters has down syndrome. To know God's plans and purposes for doing what He does and allowing what He does is one of my top missions in life. I think there are many things that may be beyond our understanding in this physical body and the limited cognitive capacity we posses. I do know this, God will bring Himself glory and through our suffering and hardships others may see His light through us, we never know what even the smallest light may do to someone's life. So rest assured, He is using you if you allow Him to.

    • @JessicaSunlight
      @JessicaSunlight 7 місяців тому

@@ChoweyPlown It does exist. Jesus taught not only about karma but about reincarnation as well, this was cut off from his teachings for the sole purpose to control people and take their opportunity to learn about the reality of life, so that they will never be able to follow in Jesus footsteps.
Every action has a reaction, everything you do produces a result, every choice you make has a consequence, any idea you accept into your mind has a consequence - this is a karma. If you believe you are a miserable person, this belief will make you more easily find yourself in miserable situations. As you sow you reap, this is the law of God.
This is why Jesus taught about multiplying your talents and turning the other cheek because he knew, if you respond with violence you will have further violence in the future. As you sow you reap.
Even physics teaches you about the reality of action and reaction.
What you cited is a special case when some people voluntarily take on karma of other people before they come into the human body. This karma was still made by some one, God does not push anyone - this is simply a satanic lie promoted by Antichrist or people who partially accepted lies of antichrist.
If what I am saying is not enough for you then you're free to connect to Jesus Christ as he is available to you any moment, since he is the one who taught me the reality of life, including how karma works. You are of course free to wait till your physical life is going to be over to face Jesus to hear exactly the same thing if that's the way you want it. The choice is yours.
O Jesus, I now clearly see,
the Key of Knowledge given me,
my Christ self I hereby embrace,

I feel the same way brother, honestly, almost everyday I pray and ask Him to forgive my wretched, athiest past. My blasphemy. I was so hardcore atheist I grabbed a bible during a thunderstorm during a party (pretty drunk) and screamed at the thunder and lightening, "God, IF YOU EXIST, STRIKE ME DOWN. STRIKE ME DOWN RIGHT NOW, IF YOU DONT I WILL NEVER BELIEVE!!!". Lightening struck, but not at me, I now see, after 15 years of athiesm, that I WAS struck down that night. My family fell apart soon after, my dreams fell away, my heart sealed itself to a woman who used me for 8 years, and STILL I didn't get it.
About 3 years ago, I wanted to refute the Bible UTTERLY. To demonstrate God was an evil concept (I had not realized morality played a part yet) and started studying the historicity of Jesus Christ, after about a year of this project, I realized I was the wretched one, the sinner, the men who dragged Him to the cross. THAT WAS ME. And the historical evidence was icing on the cake, I could not find any reasonable reason that Christ didn't THINK he was what he said he was.
So after a year and some change studying the history of Jesus, the sacrifice which now made COMPLETE sense to me, I knelt and prayed for the first time ever. I couldn't hold back the frustration that I WAS MY OWN WORST ENEMY.
I pray everyday now, and I do believe Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. That supernatural (unprovable by science) things are sometimes a trap, a logical loophole fallacy in the perfect word.

I've been thinking about this question recently, since when i became concious about the reality of being, the reality of tragedy and malevolence. I've read about numerous historal literatures such as the rape of nanking and other historical atrocities, i would cry on how such horrendous acts like that could possibly exist. I started looking for answers to great questions i could not answer, I've even looked from the great philosophical minds of the past, and even now (like jordan peterson, etc), but theres always something missing, and their answers never really gave me a divine revalatory experience. As this questions progress in time and space without being answered, my heart grew cold away from God, filled with bitterness and resentment, questioning him the reality of being.
    Here's the question:
Why is mankind created? I dont want to be born at all. Is being alive justified when people are born in pain and suffering, and then after their death there is judgment that sets them apart for eternity in burning, torments, screaming forevermore? Did God just created so we could burn forever? Not even all christians that are created are going to heaven, because only a tiny proportion of people is going to be saved(God even stated this in the new testament). My heart aches so much, and i would only cry, but i could not do something about it. Recently, i've read a statement that resonated with me, its written by enoch himself, saying: blessed is the man who is not been born, theres also statements akin to these that are also stated by biblical characters like solomon and job.
God never realy answered them precisely.
I have to get this question out of my chest. Because even now its always painful to imagine. Thank you to whom might be reading this.

I've noticed two common answers to this question in my life, -neither will you like:
1.) Personal sin really does keep the Holy Spirit from filling us.
2.) God pours out His Holy Spirit in His timing. If He was constantly filling you then you would notice it less. But sometimes (and it is the most random and unpredictable times) God will suddenly fill you with the Holy Spirit, bursting you to life, motivating you to take action, filling your heart with joy, turning your life around, and putting God's transforming power in somebody's life on display.
The better question then is what to do in between the times God's Spirit falls upon you. Practice skills He has given you, study Him and His Word, build friendships, and make yourself ready for His coming (you won't be ready, for the greatness of that time is beyond all preparation, only with the power of God can you accomplish it).

Apologies for such a long quote but I think that G.K. Chesterton deals with the mystery of freewill, that is the mystery of real love quite well….
“Mysticism keeps men sane. As long as you have mystery you have health; when you destroy mystery you create morbidity. The ordinary man has always been sane because the ordinary man has always been a mystic. He has permitted the twilight. He has always had one foot in earth and the other in fairyland. He has always left himself free to doubt his gods; but (unlike the agnostic of to-day) free also to believe in them. He has always cared more for truth than for consistency. If he saw two truths that seemed to contradict each other, he would take the two truths and the contradiction along with them.
His spiritual sight is stereoscopic, like his physical sight: he sees two different pictures at once and yet sees all the better for that. Thus he has always believed that there was such a thing as fate, but such a thing as free will also. Thus he believed that children were indeed the kingdom of heaven, but nevertheless ought to be obedient to the kingdom of earth. He admired youth because it was young and age because it was not. It is exactly this balance of apparent contradictions that has been the whole buoyancy of the healthy man.
The whole secret of mysticism is this: that man can understand everything by the help of what he does not understand. The morbid logician seeks to make everything lucid, and succeeds in making everything mysterious. The mystic allows one thing to be mysterious, and everything else becomes lucid. The determinist makes the theory of causation quite clear, and then finds that he cannot say "if you please" to the housemaid. The Christian permits free will to remain a sacred mystery; but because of this his relations with the housemaid become of a sparkling and crystal clearness. He puts the seed of dogma in a central darkness; but it branches forth in all directions with abounding natural health.
As we have taken the circle as the symbol of reason and madness, we may very well take the cross as the symbol at once of mystery and of health. Buddhism is centripetal, but Christianity is centrifugal: it breaks out. For the circle is perfect and infinite in its nature; but it is fixed for ever in its size; it can never be larger or smaller. But the cross, though it has at its heart a collision and a contradiction, can extend its four arms for ever without altering its shape.
Because it has a paradox in its centre it can grow without changing. The circle returns upon itself and is bound. The cross opens its arms to the four winds; it is a signpost for free travellers. Symbols alone are of even a cloudy value in speaking of this deep matter; and another symbol from physical nature will express sufficiently well the real place of mysticism before mankind. The one created thing which we cannot look at is the one thing in the light of which we look at everything -- Like the sun at noonday, mysticism explains everything else by the blaze of its own victorious invisibility -- Detached intellectualism is (in the exact sense of a popular phrase) all moonshine; for it is light without heat, and it is secondary light, reflected from a dead world.
But the Greeks were right when they made Apollo the god both of imagination and of sanity; for he was both the patron of poetry and the patron of healing. Of necessary dogmas and a special creed I shall speak later. But that transcendentalism by which all men live has primarily much the position of the sun in the sky.
We are conscious of it as of a kind of splendid confusion; it is something both shining and shapeless, at once a blaze and a blur. But the circle of the moon is as clear and unmistakable, as recurrent and inevitable, as the circle of Euclid on a blackboard. For the moon is utterly reasonable; and the moon is the mother of lunatics and has given to them all her name.” (G.K. Chesterton)

Keeping in mind that God Is perfect Love, as well as perfect Justice, can help us understand a lot, although certainly some of the applications of this will remain a mystery. We know that in the Bible God said that anyone who believes in God through His Son will receive Eternal Life. He also wishes that none should perish, but that all will come to repentance. Love and Justice met on the Cross in Jesus. He can't, due to His Nature, force anyone to believe, although He can certainly influence, as was the case with Saul/Paul, and a fair amount of Muslims who had dreams and visions of Jesus, to the point of believing and being saved.

I'd ask the same question. There's so many denominations nowadays, each one believes it's the true one, to the point that some churches say that salvation is only found in them. This is a scary thought.
For me it's impossible to tell which church has the fullness of truth - I'm not a theologian or a historian.
I just hope that Jesus is not a legalist and that he won't condemn me to hell, simply because I wasn't baptized in the "correct" church.

I guess what I’m getting at, is it seems like several denominations like to emphasize religious practices or rituals, things not taught by Jesus or the disciples. Maybe those help some people, but I think overall they are a distraction from what’s important… knowing God more and becoming more like Him. I think the best church for someone would be one that helps them do that best (while following what the Bible actually teaches). Learning that takes a little investigation into the church statement of faith. Does it all align with the Bible? Is there biblical support for a doctrine? I see your point though, like what is Gods best choice of a church for YOU. Since your concern is doctrine, I think one that is true to the Bible’s teaching is best.

      Romans 5:3-5 states:
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
1 Corinthians 2:10 says "But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God."
There is nothing so secret and hidden in God, but the Spirit of God penetrates it.
I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. (Proverbs 8:17)
That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. (Proverbs 8:21)
Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins. (Proverbs 10:12)
God is creating a divine Family, composed of spirit beings who have free will, A family of children, immortal children who could think like him and would choose Him, those who will be regenerated (by the power of God’s Holy Spirit) - the holy, righteous character of Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 2:10-11)
He wants beings that would love him. Love is possible only among free-will beings. Hence, God created us with the freedom to choose who we want to relate to. We all get to choose whether we want to spend eternity in a relationship with God or without God. And, God could have gotten a larger percentage of humans, even close to 100%, to become Christians simply by endowing us with weak free will. However, weak free will means we would be limited in the degree of love we could express to others and the degree of love we could receive from others. God’s goal was for as many humans as possible to experience strong love. For strong love to be possible we must possess strong free will.
      Jeremiah 29:11 states:
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Deuteronomy 4:29 proclaims, “But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul.”
      Matthew 22:37-40 states:
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

My current meditations on the topic is: the elixir to suffering is love. My parents would suffer almost anything without complaining, for the sake of their kids. My mother in particular, would not suffer anything without complaining other wise. Ask her to push a bolder like Sisyphus up a hill and she complain non-stop and at great amplitude, but if she thought pushing a bolder uphill got her kids whatever they needed she'd do it with enormous and largely quiet determination.
The opposite of love is violence. It is difficult to measure or portray love in narrative form (where as poetry and especially music is much more powerful conveyer of emotion, especially love). Jesus is able to bear the cross and endure crucifixion because his love for us is greater. So suffering is trivialized by love, and God is love.

If I was suffering this much from the accidental loss of a child, how much more would these women suffer that had done it on purpose. And that viewpoint was important to nail down because I now have 2 friends that have had abortions and they are suffering terribly from the loss.

@NellieNeedsMeat thank you - i have also had 2 miscarriages so i understand those feelings of betrayal too. Both were painful but the more recent one was quite traumatic because it was early in the 2nd trimester. So even though God has given me much comfort and I've managed remarkably well due to Him, I know I will carry the pain of it with me until I finally am reunited with my child in heaven.
Having had a late miscarriage and seeing my baby's body at 14 weeks old has given me a lot to say when it comes to defending preborn babies. And I do think that's one small part of God's plan - or at least how he is working out all things for the good of one who loves him. I also think the Lord has used it to strengthen my faith in him - I clung even more tightly to God because I felt like I would fall apart if I didn't.

    • @Hannodb1961
      @Hannodb1961 7 місяців тому

As a calvinist (And someone who has tested my believes against scripture), this is how I understand it:
      1) Out will is not free, there are limitations. If our will was truly free, we could simply choose to stop sinning al together, making the cross superfluous. We do have will, though, which I understand to be the capacity to choose.
      2) We can't choose our desires. If you want something, you want it. You cannot simply choose to stop wanting it. Rather, our desires determine our choices, not the other way arround.
      3) Due to our sinful nature, our desires are corrupted, causing us to desire things that is harmful to us and everyone around us. In fact, if you read Romans 7, sinful desires is not unlike drug addiction: The more you try to break free of them, the more you realise how much power it has over you. This is why Jesus says that no person can come to God unless they're born again. (Being born is not a choice, it is something that happens to you) Romans 1 also explains that these destructive sinful desires are God's wrath upon people because we all know God exists, but we suppress that knowledge because we suppress that knowledge in order to be our own god. So, basically we are all, by default, prisoners on death row.
      4) God has the right to choose whom He desires to save for His purposes. If God chooses to save someone, He will work in that person's heart, implanting it with new desires that is pleasing to God. That person will then respond to those desires, and eventually choose to repent and turn to Christ, and resist his sinful desires.
      5) When Jesus returns and the elect inherit eternal life, God will finally free us completely from sin, which is not just our evil deeds but also our evil desires. On the new earth, there will be no rules, and you will be able to do whatever you want, because your desires will be in perfect alignment with God's desire. Whatever you desire to do will be God's desire for you to do. Therefore, just like it is impossible for an unsaved person on earth to turn to God, because _he has no desire to do so,_ likewise, on the new earth, no one will have the ability to sin, because _we will not have the desire to do so._

When people say things like: " What if I really want to be saved, but can't because I was not elected", it shows an ignorance of how human will works. People are sold to the idea that we have free will, but they don't think very deeply about what that actually means, and the contradictions that leads to. I think the key to really understand reformed doctrine when it comes to human will, is to understand the relationship between our desires and our capacity to choose.

I have asked God a lot of questions in my 30 year Christian walk. But I learned not too long after being saved that I could always find His answer in the Bible. For the Bible is God's Word. Everything you would ever want to know about life and His will is in there. Sometimes I find it right off and other times I have to search. But it is always in there. God has always answered me that way and what He will do for one of His children He will do for all of them.

      @michaelroloson2389 7 місяців тому

@@Quekksilber : Those are two good questions and by the Word of God I hope to help you out. #1. Every book that is in the Bible from Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21 are the true books of the Bible. It was all given by the inspiration of God.( 2 Timothy 3:16.) Let no one ever tell you that parts or books do not belong. For if we take one part out the whole message would be lost. For example; In Genesis 3:15 God Himself makes the first prophecy of the first coming of His Son. Take that out and we miss how that from the very start God's love was so strong for us that He was already making a way for us to return to Him. Your #2 question. Our beliefs as christians must line up with God's Word. In 2Corinthians 13:5 it tells us to examine ourselves and the only way any of us can do that is to see how our lives and beliefs line up with His Word. From time to time I still remind our congregation of this for it is very important. One of the big ways someone may end up with a false belief is just taking someones word for something. Here again the Bible tells us in Acts 17:11 that the men of Berea received what Paul and Silas said. But, they searched the scriptures to see if what they were told was right. I was not trying to preach to you friend. I was only trying to help you with your questions. Take care and God bless.

Before you ask God for more precise guidance, make sure you sufficiently appreciate God's greatest gift - the gift of free will. It wouldn't please God at all if you wanted to avoid this responsibility. So, how to love God? "Thou shalt love your God with all your heart, soul and might". @@damnedmadman now I kind of disagree. I agree that we have free will, I agree it is a great gift - not sure why it should be the greatest of all, but it surely is a great gift. However, why not asking this question (the one I formulated in my initial post) if given the opportunity? What better question to ask?
My disagreement is not with us having free will (which implies both creativity as you say, and also responsibility), but with you apparently implying that we should not ask God how best to love Him if given the opportunity, because we have free will and the church's teachings. This is where I don't follow.
For example, if you are married then you have the Bible, the teachings of the church etc, telling you how to be a good spouse. And your free will. But isn't it good and even necessary also, to ask your spouse how best to serve and love him/her? Why not ask God the same question?
Oh, and I abide by most of the Catholic church's teachings but not all, as I reject the teachings about Mary, etc (my view is evangelical). But that is a separate discussion.
