  • Josh gives an honest and unbiased review of the Atlantis Handmade's "Minimalists" -- barefoot leather slip-on shoes for Men or Women. Semi-dress/”Office casual” styling barefoot loafers, hand-made in Gaziantep, Turkey. Beautiful leather, easy-in/easy-out, stylish slip-on low tops suitable for the office or a night out on the town! Check these out!
    Atlantis Handmade offers MANY different styles and colors, for both men and women. I highly recommend scrolling through the many options on their website and seeing what grabs you. The models I have here are called "Minimalists" (note the squarish shape of the "tongue" area). They also have a model called "Barefoots" with a curved tongue area. I like the squarish better myself; but to each their own. They also have oxfords/lace-ups, slippers, and other models to explore.

    You just saved me a bunch of $$. Atlantis is offering a buy one get one 50% off deal for Valentine's Day. I'm glad I saw this video before buying from the higher priced competitor brand. Thanks!

      Awesome to hear! They're really nice shoes. I've also reviewed their Chelsea boots--all good stuff! There are lots of competitors out there making similar shoes. Some are just US-based companies that buy them and resell them at 2x the price. Crazy. But yeah these are lovely. I hope you like them!

    Hey, cool channel! Just discovered it! Reminds me of walletopia! I'm wondering how these are for real wide feet? Like, even Hey Dudes are SLIGHTLY not big enough. Or if that won't be a problem, you know? I wanna wear these barefoot shoes!

    • @barefootshoejosh
      @barefootshoejosh  2 роки тому

      Glad you're enjoying the channel. Pretty much all barefoot shoes are wider than "conventional" shoes.. but even within the barefoot shoe companies, some are wider than others. Scan the videos for shoes you like, and feel free to ask questions! Please use my affiliate links if/when you decide to buy something. Most of them give you a discount, as well as helping me out too! Thanks again!

    Josh…great review. The shoes look amazing. I assume these are mainly for casual uses? My problem is I live in the country in the Midwest…almost all my walking is in the light hiking category, including wet grass. So I assume these are not going to work for that. However, they would make a great casual going to town shoe or for slippers! Right now I am looking for a fall/winter type boot to replace my current toe crunching boots. Been looking at Belenka Ranger.

    • @barefootshoejosh
      @barefootshoejosh  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks.. they can be casual, or "office casual" or "night out" kind of shoes. They do have water buffalo leather soles, so wet grass probably wouldn't be the right environment.. but they do add 2mm rubber soles if you want them.. If you're wanting fall/winter boots with great toe space, I have just recorded 2 reviews you'll like. They should probably be posted within a month or so.. right now I'm trying to put out the sandal reviews because it's summer.

      @@barefootshoejosh Thanks Josh. Keep the great reviews coming! I was checking out some Freet boots…they are looking good for wide feet!

      @@mamabear9389 yes one of the boots I just recorded a review for is the Freet Tundra. They are in my top widest barefoot shoe company list.. the boots are great! If you decide to buy something from Freet, here's my link: bit.ly/joshfreet .. they have two boots that are identical except material/color/price. The Ibex is brown, leather, $230. The Tundra is black, microfiber, $162. Other than that, those two boots are identical in design, cut, etc. They're very nice. They both have a flexible sole with big lugs on it that are great for tougher hikes, mud, etc.
      I also have done avideo for the Magical Shoes Alaskan.. which are amazing. These are not hiking boots, but they are definitely super cozy for cold weather, and are the most flexible, comfortable boots I've ever seen. Since I know you're a fan of the fit of Splays, etc.. I know these will have more than enough volume for you too...they also zip on/off which I *LOVE* .. but importantly, you need to size up on them. I normally wear 44 or 45 in all barefoot shoes. For the Magical Shoes, I'm at a 46, in spite of what it says on the sizing guide.

    Josh, I have similar shoes that I have ordered and I use them inside and outside. Have you tried using them outside. I notice that the heel area can hurt after a while since there isnt a lot of cushion. They are good for casual walking and going out to dinner but I wouldnt walk for miles in them. Your feedback ?

    • @barefootshoejosh
      @barefootshoejosh  Рік тому +3

      Greg--I can't think of an instance where I would want to wear a semi-dress/office casual type shoe like this where I would be walking for miles... like you said, a night out, or working at an office or something. That said, I've been wearing barefoot shoes for around a decade, and some of my shoes have like 2-4mm soles and I do walk miles in them frequently. Because of the long-term conditioning, it's not a problem for my feet really. Also, if it's your heel that's hurting, I'm wondering if you've been wearing barefoot shoes for a relatively short time, as most people adopt less of a heel striking gait as they adapt to barefoot shoes and develop more of a forefoot or whole-foot striking gait. Lastly, you can also order these with a 2mm rubber sole added onto the buffalo leather, which might help. Anyway, that's just a few thoughts off the cuff without knowing you or your barefoot shoe experience, etc.

    I can’t find men’s barefoot slippers which are warm for winter and are not made from wool? I have problems with clothes moths and silverfish on occasions, so wool isn’t an option. I’m in the U.K..

    Do NOT buy shoes from here if they are made wrong you yes you have to pay to return them !!!!

    • @barefootshoejosh
      @barefootshoejosh  Рік тому +1

      I mean, to say they are "made wrong" is a pretty broad statement. I have two pairs, and they are both fantastic, so maybe you could offer some more specific critique about what didn't work for you?
