- music of the original soundtrack of the movie The Running Man composed by Harold Faltermeyer 1987
starring Arnold Schwarzenegger in a kick-ass flick from the 80s
This is the best repusentation ofna movie sound track iv ever heard! Period!!! Thank you!!!!!
Incredible soundtrack! One of my all time favourite movies!!
"Killian." "Yeah?" "I'll be back!" "Only in reruns". Love that bit.
+P Ferreira He is the only person to this day in a movie who can dodge an Arnie 1-liner and KO him with the counter one liner.
Red and White Warriors of Sevilla. Yep that's why it's a great bit.
Yeah I love that bit lol. And yes Killian is definitely the only guy to hit Schwarzenegger with a killer return one liner.
I think its Arnies best "I'll be back"
uhh palangana!!
I saw this movie in theaters when I was a kid. This is a pretty action packed movie.
MDthornton83 Same Here Classic
"I can pick anyone I want! And I choose...Ben Richards. That man's a meeean motherf*cker!!"
Most memorable line from this classic!
I listen to this while I'm doing my school work!! AMAZING!!!
"Here is Sub-zero,..now plain zero"
+alex riggs never understood that pun
Obviously, as you are a yankee.
Sub-zero = below 0 e.g. -5 Celsius
Plain zero = 0 Celsius
+MacGovernor BOOM! Science Bitch.
Obviously you have a lack of int.
Arnie and his puns and one-liners. Another memorable line from "The Running Man" is one about the villain called Buzz-Saw. Amber asks Ben Richards: "What happened to Buzz-Saw?" Richards replies: "Aw, he had to split." Talk about "cutting-edge humour", eh!?
Film + soundtrack = 80s cool!
"Don't touch that dial!"
Love that Dweezil Zappa was in this flick. A true classic with quality tunes by the one & only Harold F.
I've been jamming with this sound track from running man ,and it's the antiapation of the time feel which gives way for polly rhythms with in its self .
Absaloutly brilliant writing from these musicians. Thank you .
love this 80s tune...
love my 80s childhood
What a master piece, I remember just playing the vhs video just to hear the music back in 88 when I was 12... "You're getting old John" ( That's a line from Commando, I know :P )
This is so amazing.
This music always sounds futuristic to me because I heard it when I was a kid.
the 80s were the best and beats all the rest!!
Very true
Damn straight!
No other era that had this much testosterone for sure!!!
Nobody seems to talk about the message of this film..
benito lopera perrote jeah the film was his time ahead...now in 2017 the tv shows are so crazy like the show in running man ..and most of the people like those dumb shows...greets from germany sry for my english
What is the message of the film?
I absolutely agree, however being stupid is far more popular and sells better, perhaps that's a reflection of the society we are now in lol.
Not everyone.
there's no message in this movie at all, the only thing I see is one the greatest action movie star: Arnold; at the top of his form in a 1987 sci-fi action movie about an imagined 2017 world with the greatest movie intro ever with a guy trying to cross an electronic fence, there's action, there's gadgets, Mick Fleetwood in his greatest role, there's futuristic tech, iconic actors, there's explosions and fights and a great soundtrack so... it means that if you're a man there is an immense possibility you will want to see this from time to time and I know some women who will too... so here you go that's the message!
The battle theme that begins around 1:10 is the most underrated, pure uncut 80s movie score theme of all time. It’s like Axel F in the minor key. The prefect theme song for 2020
What is title of this song?
This guy did all the cool films!
these sounds are awesome like the 80's
i ll be back💪 arnie you are a legend showtime. thanks for memories of this amazing track from running man everyone enjoy.
HEY, LIGHTBULB!! CHRISTMAS TREE!!! OVER HERE!!!
Still gives me goose pimples ❤
great sound treks on here
Such a Tune!
I have been reading the Running Man book and playing this theme from 3:20 to 7:30. And Faltermeyer's heavy piano and edgy synth chords, really reflect the dark desperation that Richards is feeling as a man on the run from Evan McCone's professional Hunter Squad. Ben's body is seriously jacked up. He is wounded, and bleeding, but he keeps on going. He won't stop, and refuses to give in. He is tenacious, resourceful, and unorthodox, which is why he is playing this deadly game so well despite the overwhelming nightmare odds.
The world is watching him on the Free Vee. And while the elites fear him, salivating like jackals at the idea of seeing him eviscerated live on camera, the poor and downtrodden, who are dying in the housing developments, see Ben as a hero, a man who isn't intimidated by the Games Federation, a man who says fuck you to the ivory tower aristocracy sitting in the clouds, a total and complete baddass. Ben fuckin' Richards.
Running Man is a dystopian sci-fi setting wrapped around a comically self-serious 80’s action movie and it’s unironically one of my favorite movies in the world.
Un Clásico Álbum, Siempre será un deleite, Así pasen 100 años, será Imborrable.
В конце 80-х годов прошлого столетия. В фильмах,была использована очень красивая и немного футуристическая музыка. Очень люблю фильмы той поры и саундтреки к ним!
perimeter deactivated, perimeter deactivated, perimeter deactivated
This quote is ingrained in my brain from watching this movie too often.
❤️😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sonic Deadline is up! Sonic Deadline is up! Prisoner restraint collars armed. Prisoner restraint collars armed. Love that "computer" voice.
Chico!!!! Come baaaack !!! The deadline still up!
Restraint collars armed
It’s show time
I totaly agree! The new movies have bad music and bad plots. The thing I hate most about new movies is how every action sene the camera is all shakey and you can even see what is going on! Another great 80s track is the Escape from New Yorks soundtrack.
And the music is just chord progressions with strings and a percussive synth sample every now and then or a bwaaaaaaaaaaaa. I miss melodies. Memorable you could hum when leaving the theatre.
Thank you for this
The Great Harold Faltermeyer :o)!
03:29 a classic
AMAZING !
The 80's was THE decade for action movies. Action movies today suck.
Came for 1:10 - 3:32
The whole time?
I was expecting Axel Foley to jump out and join us.
Fantastic flick!
If feel like I'm being chased through the 80's listening to this

much good song for this movie and the movie is great!
This is awesome!
OMG THIS SOUNDTRACK RULES!!!
1:10 I’m instantly transported back to the 80’s
It's Showtime!

Nothing else needs to said really.
ITS SHOWTIME!
80s Synth, imagine being a kid in the 80s (moi) and grow up with this stuff, then you are destined to have only love for electronic music. :-)
to hell with you, for making a remake....arhrrrrrrr!
It's showtime!
1:10 - 3:21 sounds almost exactly like Beverly Hills Cop II Intro Scene (Jewelry Robbery).
Same composer
It's time to start - RUNNING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Love It!!!!!!!!!!!!
the Soundtrack was used by an old 80s TV Station TELECLUB Info Show
top of the top
A real cult movie ! Love the movie and the OST.
IT'S SHOWTIME!
6:33Killian "You look pissed Ben. Believe me you got every right to be.But Hey, will ya will ya let me explain. This is television, that's all it is. It's nothing to do with people, it's to do with the ratings. For 50 years we told em what to eat, what to drink, what to wear. For Christ sake Ben don't you understand, Americans love television. They ween their kids on it. Listen they love game shows, they love wrestling, they sports, violence. So what do we do? We give em what they want! We're number one Ben, that's all that counts. Believe me I been in the business 30 years". Ben Richards " while I haven't been in show business for as long as you have Killian, But I'm quick learner. So I'm gonna give the audience what I think they want".
Bullshit, this movie was the product of rising crime wave in the 80s and beginning of the 90s. Like Escape from New York. As usual, they just projected the rise in crime into future and came to scenarios like these, but what they did not anticipate was that after mid 90s crime rates started to fall all over the world and we entered the age of reducing level of crime and less tolerance to violence.
ich komme wieder, dieser Spruch ist unvergessen
Whitman Price and Haddad here they are Enjoying the sun in Malibu.
Around 1:20 it hits Depeche Mode territory. Very nice.
"It's showtime!"
1.55 hi cuteypie...one of us is in deep trouble
Peter Price 1:09 It's showtime
One always gets that impression when comparing the present to past glory. This is because one tends to forget the rubbish which for a good reason disappears, and the 80ies had their good share of that as well. In 2020 one won't remember the 00s and early 10s for the 13th sequal of the fast and the furious but praise this time as the glorious age LOTR, Children Of Men and Michael Clayton were made. If anything has changed then it is the balance between brains and budget.
No one has been able to pull of the one liners like good old Arnold
yes!
6:30-7:57
"I'm going somewhere, but not with you. Buzzsaw took care of my... traveling arrangements...........
The underground has a broadcast center, in quadrant four. Take her, take her and the code.. to Mic.
Dont let us die for nothing... listen, we're countin' on you, don't let us down......
I don't wanna be the only...... asshole in heaven..... Ben...................."
You saved my life. It should be me down there.
Where is buzzsaw? oh he got the split
Its showtime
Good Stuff !
I need this on vinyl O_O
Killian, I´ll be Back.
1:30 almost identical to the opening scene of Beverly Hills cop 2
Same composer
3:25 is where it's at
Best Part
Killian ! I'll be back
Bad ass. Cyberpunk was/is my favorite genre, especially the great 80's epics. What happened, Hollywood?
"That hit the spot."
Running Man 2: No Man Left Behind
best scene from the movie for me was , when arnold sign this contract on the back on that guy....and rams that pencil his back.
a shame that this scene is censored in german tv :D
motivation
I hate Arnold now but I used to watch this movie 3 times a day in 89, no joke, I also stole the vhs movie from walmart when I was 13, stealing is wrong but I don't regret it if it was from Walmart. Watch the movie again, see how it relates to the world today. 6:41 to 7:58 was my favorite part.
definitely
ITZ SHO TIMEEE
"Don't touch that dial".... In my Stevie voice!!
Uplink underground, uplink underground. If you say that one more time, I'll uplink your ass, and you'll be underground!-one of my favorite bad lines ever!
There are some dated 80s parts of the soundtrack unfortunately. The first part of the track is ok/good, but I came for 3:28 onward. That unforgettable 14-note two-part, repeated synth riff. Against the background bass, it's haunting - keep listening to it almost to end of the track, against the atmospherics. Great arranging for the most part.
The guitar towards the end unfortunately is an example of clichéd 80s rock riff, but the rest of that part of the track is spellbinding.
Love that part
@DIGITALSCREAMS completely agree, 80's and early 90's was a golden are for film. Films had character back then. for instance the new predator and the new terminator dont even compare to the old ones. when they remake total recall next year it will be the exact same outcome. shit.
A very good sf action film from the 80's..realisation by paul micheal glaser (starsky of starsky and hutch serie).
this film is a adaptation of the french film 'le prix du dangers' of yves boisset (1983) with gerard lanvin, michel piccoli, bruno cremer (sorcerer of friedkin) and a lot of good french actor.
+Deplancke Flavien
No, it is a book by Stephen King under the pen name Richard Bachman.
+Krasnaja Zvezda
king, for his running man book, was inspired by the novel of robert senchkley, prize of the peril.
le prix du danger is a french adaptation of prize of the peril.
1983 for le prix du danger and 1987 for the running man...
+Krasnaja Zvezda GOOOOO ON!!!!!! good answer ;) its one of the only sifi storys he did really amazing !!
Badass
God the movie scared the shit out of me. In a physiological way.
I still love it after all these decades.
Who loves you and who do you love!!!
There's a Bachesque feel to some parts.
Last season's winners.
You know someone made a remix of this audio
