Thank you for your channel. I noticed some time has passed since your last upload. I hope that youre well and we may see you soon, once again... for now I catch up on your previous videos. ✌️
Thank you! I am very well, but have been distracted from making videos by writing a biography of Robert Aickman, which will be announced very shortly. I'll get back to making videos as soon as I can!
I feel like you are likely a fan of A.E. Coppard. Love your channel and love your press. Thanks for the info on Aickman, I am an enormous fan but I only have first editions of his American collections. I'll for sure be buying your biography of him asap.
After reading 'The Trains' and 'The Insufficient Answer" I decided to buy and read the 8 volume hardcover Tartarus Complete Stories of Aickman. It was the best idea.
Thank you so much for your videos about Aickman, that I've only discovered recently thanks to the hppodcraft podcast ! Being French, I've been really surprised that an author of such quality had only a few short stories translated in French in the 70s and 80s and nothing else. I've struggled to find it all but now it's done. It's such a shame.
Thank you for this too. I wish when I met Barry Humphries we talked about Machen and Aickman, at the time I had no idea. Ian Miller is an odd choice of artist for the paperbacks.
So I don't buy the same stories twice, do the books Intrusions, Night Voices and Tales of Love and Death have different stories from the four Faber and Faber collections? Thank you for any guidance.
Faber have confused the issue by publishing The Wine Dark Sea and The Unsettled Dust, both of which were later "best of" collections, rather than original collections. If you want more stories than Faber offer, you will end up with some duplication.
Thanks, I recently read the four Faber and Faber collections and enjoyed all those short stories, thinking that's that; but then found The Fully-Conducted Tour audio on you tube, and then your video, which has now lead me to 5 new stories in We are for the dark, the 6th Trains I have already read in the Faber collection, so thank you again, will sift further through the link you kindly sent for any other RA short stories and form a personal list@@RBRussellTartarus
Thanks very informative. Could you maybe do me a favour and save me some research time? I've read the four faber and faber collections, approximately how many of the short stories have I not read?!

Excellent. Thanks Ray! Also this video reminds me that I should get back on my Aickman collection.
Wow, I love your videos. So much to learn. Thanks much.

The main thing that 'The Strangers' revealed was what a good reviewer RA was, and that it's our loss he didn't write more in that vein...

Does anyone have a simple list of all Aickman's short stories?...just in case I have missed any.
I'm not aware of a simple list, but one could be constructed from this page: tartaruspress.com//aickman/the-stories.html

Wonderful stuff! How do you acquire the facsimile dust jackets?

You will have read just over half of the short stories, leaving, perhaps, 40% unread...
Those Faber Finds plain white-covers are, in my opinion, as all covers should be. Gallimard got it right, as they usually do.
Fascinating!
for " Aickmanesque" read the world we live in......
