Speaking of Tibetan dishes, how can we forget yak meat, butter tea and tsampas? After saying goodbye to Lu, we went to the Jidi Village Pasture of Shangri-La. Besides yaks and goats, this place is also famous for its fragrance tsampa and delicious butter tea.
Between March to September, the elders usually herd the cattle in the pasture. They will collect milk and make butter daily. It's my first time seeing how the butter is made. I also had a try at the freshest butter tea. I bought a butter cake and some yak before leaving. The old man also gave me some hulless barley powder as a gift. I made some real Tibetan dishes at home. Besides butter tea and tsampa, I also made a Tibetan yak hot pot and some dried yak meat. It's very delicious.

You can tell how much grandma loves Dawag by how often she gives him food, and the gentle looks she gives him. It really warms my heart because especially in China a lot of the older generations don’t really think of animals as pets rather than tools. So to see her treat Dawag as a pet and love on him makes me happy.

Description: On the topic of tibetan food, how can we skip out on yak beef, buttered tea and zanba? After saying goodbye to Lurong, I went to the grazing fields of a shangri-la village. Besides raising cows and sheep, there's also aromatic zanbas and sweet buttered tea. The village elders let the cows graze from march to september and collect milk to make butter everyday. This was the first time I saw the butter-making process in action, and I got to taste the freshest buttered tea. I bought a block of butter and some yak from the elders, he also gave me some barley flour. When I got home I made an authentic meal. Aside from the buttered tea and the zanbas, I made a hotpot and yak jerky, which were both delicious too!

I think Shangrila is actually in Yunnan province, not Tibet. There are many Tibetan autonomous prefectures distributed in some provinces in China.

Hence why i also love watching her an many others is because they all are so different an share different things. Seeing her an her family eat together reminds me of all the family dinners as a kid before my gram passed. We would have so many big meals an fam jams an just all hang out for a whole day with food an music. So nice to see them together an wish i could do the same more often with my family

@@juliacarrasco8687 It is a good question, I know to you guys who don't never ever eat chillies often, all chillies are hot. But to us, some of the chillies are cultivated to have a mild taste of hotness but a stronger fragrance. This fragrance will be amplified when you pour hot oil on them. And this kind of chillies is very good for making chilly oil or chilly sauce. Usually we mix two or even three kinds of chillies together. Some have stronger taste/fragrance, some are just simply very hot.
