We just dealt with a leak in the bathroom that went on over night and flood the entire bathroom and part of the master bed room, about 16k in repairs and remodel due to it. So yes!!! get a leak detection!!! If we had one it would of woke me up and I could of turned off the angle stop right away before it got bad.

Great video! I use the YoLink water leak detector system and a lot of other YoLink sensors including motion sensor, door sensor, garage door sensor and controller. They all work great. Strongly recommend.

I have the same system installed. It has already paid for itself, there was a leak in one of my bathrooms and it saved the house from flooding by shutting off the main water valve instantly. The wireless connection between the sensors and the hub is based on LoRa technology. Unlike Wi-Fi, it has longer range and consumes very less power.

Literally 2 weeks ago my water heater started leaking in the garage and I got notified of it by the sensor.

I wish we had yolink available in the UK the range alone makes it a clear winner.

The ring flood sensor sends an email immediately to the user but at this time does not send a text message to the user's phone. The problem with this is the user may have his/her phone 24/7 but not read the email alert until hours later. It would be much better if there were text alerts in addition to the conventional Ring email alert

Yolink works for my personal residence. I am hesitant for rental because the functioning of the unit is dependent on the tennents choices.

True. It might be another thing to track and require.

Can I ask how the hub is powered. Is it a DC adapter or a usb 5v supply of some sort? Thanks

will this Yolink send a notification if power/wifi goes out? or simply ring loudly, and then send notification once connection is re-established?

As I understand it’s the latter. The hub must maintain internet connection. If the sensor is tripped, it will keep pinging the hub. Once the hub reconnects to the internet, it relays the signal.

@@Outlaw_SEO Without internet or power of the hub, the YoLink water sensor cannot send notification to smart phone. But the YoLink sensor will directly send signal to YoLink siren to trigger off the siren and also send the signal to YoLink valve controller to turn off the water when there is leak detected. As I know, it is the only solution in the market.

@@siriustechxu I have this exact setup and it works perfectly I've tested it without both power and without the Interset and it works perfectly. I replaced my SmartThings leak sensors for this reason.

So the water has to fall on top of those 2 small dots on the sensor to start or it wont work. Too risky. I would prefer the sensor to be on the bottom because when the water spreads it is more likely to go off and notify you.

It has sensors on the bottom, too!

There are sensors on both sides.
