Hey everyone!! How long has it been since we've done a video with Sharla?! Where is that Notification and Comment squad? --- **BONUS POINTS IF YOU CATCH THE SURPRISE** lol its honestly pretty hard to miss... Thank you all and see you again.... Real soon!
The surprise was the river running down so beautiful. So nice to see you and sharla together again, you have so much funny together laughing. That milkshakes sharla got you I'm sorry I could try it 😱🤮. Lived the view so beautiful. 😀😍💙💖🌸🌸⛩🎎🗼XXXXXXX
I love how contrasting my favorite living in Japan UA-camrs content are: Here it's like, a nice hike in some hidden Japanese forest, a tour to thrift shops, a very relaxing evening around Sendai with Sharla... Meanwhile, Chris Broad, Abroad in Japan be like: "OY GUV, IMMA TAKE CONNOR, THAT FOKIN WELSH CUNT, INTO A YAKUZA FILLED HALF STAR MOTEL IN HELL. WHO WILL ACTUALLY DIE THIS TIME??" *queue upbeat copyright free song*. I love it!
Rain just has that feel to it. Having lived most of my life in a country where monsoons and typhoons are quite common, you'd think I'd hate the rain. But no, I love walking down the urban sidewalks while I shield myself from the rain with my personal umbrella. The sound of car wheels going through rain-soaked asphalt and the pitter-patter of the rain on concrete just...* chef's kiss *
For anyone that's curious, that first moth was a female gypsy moth laying eggs. That tan-colored egg casing is actually made with the scales of her abdomen. The males fly and the females don't. They are an invasive species here in the northeastern United States, established since the early 1900s. They can be incredibly destructive and this year has been particularly bad but I have to admit that the infestation gave the forests west of the White Mountains a hauntingly ethereal vibe when I visited in July.
It's such a wild coincidence that every location in this video(apart from that Tokio department store) I've been to back in 2018. Spending a day (and night) in Akiu onsen, having a walk through the Rairaikyo gorge, taking in a panoramic view of the entire Sendai City up the Aoba Castle ruins, and looking out from the observatory during golden hour. It almost felt like a trip back in time!
It made me laugh when you had to beeeeeep Sharla over and over and over lol. She's always been my favorite UA-camr. She's such a kind and genuine person and I've always respected and liked that about her :) And Norm, congratulations on getting the shoes. They suit you very well. Speaking of suits, that Pokemon suit is great :)
The Canadian Buddies are back, and today they are trying the most hip drink in Sendai .... Edamame Smoothie chunky edition 🥤 Sharla's reaction to hornets besides being hilarious is super relatable 🤣🤣 Love the video as always, wish you both the best and stay safe 😘
Oh Norm, you made me spit out my coffee when you showed up in the suit Sharla gifted you...that's amazing! Love it! You totally need to show up to a meeting in it! :D
Today I learned that if a path only looks moderately sketchy you should still follow it. Jokes aside, I loved having a video with you and Sharla again, it was a lotta fun! Sendai seems so nice, I hope i can go there one day ~ ((Also I almost choked on my noodles when the Pokemon suit appeared help xD))
Seeing Sendai from a different perspective instead of the one I saw from Abroad in Japan was a welcome experience! Btw that view from the mountaintop is AAAAMMMAAAZZZZZZINNNNGGGG!!!!
I love your videos, especially those that feature Sharla. The views you give us are spectacular, and the music reminded me of the movie "Terms of Endearment." Totally enjoyed this outing - thanks for taking us along!
There's definitely something about watching a video like this and going "I recognize that, I've been there!" that gives you the warm fuzzies. Can't wait to go back.
This video was so nostalgic for me! I lived in Sendai (right down the street from Sendai station and AER building) for 3 years and that view from Aoba-Jo takes me right back! How many Date Masamune did you see while you were there? If you ever go back, you should head to Jozenji-dori and see the Mediatheque all lit up at night. It's a great place to relax or get some work done.
Sharla is always a great addition to any video, but what got my attention the most was actually the car rental service you mentioned. Sounds both handy and clever!
So many beautiful views, I really liked those driving shots too.... as I was typing this that last scene with the pokemon suit... new favorite thing right there
Gorges always look amazing. Clothing combo at the end should be a MUST wear in every meeting going forward, unless something more colorful comes along.
this is wholesome man, love your videos, been watching your videos since just now, ady done few almost 30 mins video, never tired of it. keep it up man.
I got goosebumps just by seeing Sharla's reaction plus all the blips of censorship. Then you showed the hornets nest, and I understood why she got so scared.
Super happy to see you do another vid with Sharla. Bonus for it being in Sendai. That was the last stop on my time in Japan with work. Brought back all the feels and memories of walking around the station every day. Even that tunnel in your opening shot was part of a regular route for me. Such a great and underrated city. Thanks again for drawing me into your world and keeping me smiling.
Sendai is a great city. I was surprised the first time by how hilly it can be in places. I had always assumed it was flat. What also impressed me were the cherry blossom trees everywhere and the broad tree lined streets that create a nice canopy. Before my last visit there, I spent the weekend at Yunushi Ichijo, a ryokan in a mountain hotspring town just outside Shiroishi. One day I went into Shiroishi to see its castle. It was the first time I saw a large town in Japan where literally half the buildings were gone because the population had shrunk so much. This is a town that is on the main line from Sendai to Tokyo too. I wasn't expecting that at all.
I've been following both Sharla and Chris for so long (and now more recently; last five years or so, the guys on trash taste), I'm so surprised UA-cam never recommended your channel to me! I love your content!
Norm & Sharla! I absolutely love when y’all do videos together!! You both are my favorite UA-camrs right now! Norm your videos are so beautiful & calming. I got happy chills watching this one! My dream is to one day be able to have a camera like yours & travel around Japan my birth place. I just got back from hiking & camping out in Estes Park, CO! My body is kind of dead, lol! 🤪✌️
This was awesome. From surprising Sharla when you met up to the beautiful clouds toward the end. I’m glad someone shares my sentiments when it comes to hornets…even here in the states, they are just one species I’m not fond of…then again every year where I live we have nests of dirts daubers which are not very nice. I’d much prefer bumble bees lol. I did love that moth Sharla found! Such pretty colors.
The little exploration part of the video is nice. The place looks beautiful. Nice outfit at the end by the way! I'm curious as to what others would think if you did appear somewhere in that entire outfit.
Nice to see you out and about with Sharla. When I was in Sendai, I had the chance to see Sendai from Mt. Aoba. That was a nice view of the city. You really need a pair of sunglasses to look at you in that suit.😂😂
I don't know which is funnier; Sharla panicking/singing a melody of f*cks in the background or Norm saying: "Nuuoohhhh", then proceeds to pace forward whilst being calm *10 mins later* Norm: I wanna go back and get a shot of it now *5 mins later* Sharla: *shows Norm the nest* Norm: *realizes how serious and dangerous it could have actually been* *laughs nervously* -- Really love the Norm-Sharla dynamics here hahaha please do more videos in Sendai together pleaseeeee; and as always, great content, Norm!
ah, the view of Sandai is really nice :) I also like the sound of cicadas, but they are so loud! We have some similar bugs, crickets, they also made some noise but are not THAT loud and way smaller.
Nice video .... Good to see Sharla in one again. Almost went to Sendai in 2012 but ended up going to Sapporo instead. Probably will end up going there trip after next (although hornets are a reason to avoid anywhere!)
Sendai seems like such a cool city. I hope I can visit one day. Also, I always enjoy it when Sharla makes an appearance. She seems super chill. P.S. You have to wear the suit with the pump shoes. Anything less would look ridiculous.
So jealous of those shoes man. Those are awesome. Reminds me of my childhood when I had a pair of high-top pumps. Now u just need and auto-sizing/built-in air dry jacket.
Man, I miss Sendai so much! For 3 years I lived in Kasugamachi, right near Kokubuncho, so I love to see glimpses of the downtown area that I knew and loved so much! One of the English conversation schools I work for was in the covered shopping arcade near the AER building. That was 20 years ago, now I'm back in Canada, but since my wife is Japanese, I get to visit now and then! Anyways, enjoyed this video, keep up the great work!
Omg that Pokemon suit at the end is so epic awesome! And those nerf shoes go soooo well with it! I've had always wanted to visit Sendai one day. I haven't been anywhere else in Japan except Tokyo, Chiba, Sapporo, Yokohama, Kamakura and Kawaguchiko. I hoping to be able to go back to Japan next year!
I always get hit in the feels when I see a set of Japan I've been too, been meaning to go back for the longest time and spend some time photographing as many wonders of the country as possible. But with covid idk when that will be possible
Thanks for mentioning the music you use in the comments. Such brilliant choices! That Poke suit is tha bomb, bro. All serious business meetings must from now on be so attired, colorfully and vividly expressive. Imagine a G5 summit where only pop-culture theme suits are worn by all in attendance. Thank you all and see you again.... Real soon!
Crazy suit, skateboard and nerf shoes
Cool insoles, just don’t pump until the powder comes out like that movie lol
those shoes looked awesome, i would wear those
Was the surprise the pigeon socks? I didn't really notice anything else... hm...
Wow you were in Sendai! Glad that you liked the chunky weirdly good Zunda shake!
Ryotaro the man
glad to see you're doing well risottoro
Ryotaro, I've heard that there's a man in Sendai that has the best drip ever with the name of "Broad". Do you perhaps know someone like that?
Norm x Ryotaro collab onegai!
Eyyyy risottoro is here!
*Beeeeeeeeeeeeeep* 😂😂😂😅
😂 so vulgar today you are~
That pokemon suit you got for Norm's Bday is amazing, where'd you get it, if you don't mind telling us?
Yeah, going back at that time slowly, we can see those wasps at like 9:20 ... Brrr.
last time I hear Sharla swear so much she was on a rollercoaster with Chris ^_^
Sharla, I would have been the same if I saw them too!!!!!
Norm and Sharla together in a video is soooooo enjoyable, and uplifting.
I love how contrasting my favorite living in Japan UA-camrs content are:
Here it's like, a nice hike in some hidden Japanese forest, a tour to thrift shops, a very relaxing evening around Sendai with Sharla...

Beautiful comment 😂
I know everyone's talking about the hornets and beans, but can we appreciate the absolute drip with nerf kicks and pokemon suit
No joke. I now know what to wear during my PhD defense. Asserting dominance.
Major Drip on 💯
I know a lot of people hate the rain, but I would honestly love a japanese rainy day video.
rain is the most relaxing weather imo
though it would be a drag to have all your electronics out when the sky is having a water fight with you
I love the rain. I am not a sunny summer kind of person, at all.
Rain is only good if you are at home lol
Rain just has that feel to it. Having lived most of my life in a country where monsoons and typhoons are quite common, you'd think I'd hate the rain. But no, I love walking down the urban sidewalks while I shield myself from the rain with my personal umbrella. The sound of car wheels going through rain-soaked asphalt and the pitter-patter of the rain on concrete just...* chef's kiss *
It's 'bean' too long since we've seen Shar and you together.. yaaay!
LOL laughed out loud a little too hard there haha
For anyone that's curious, that first moth was a female gypsy moth laying eggs. That tan-colored egg casing is actually made with the scales of her abdomen. The males fly and the females don't. I just love how kind you was by helping the van driver. Mad respect
It's such a wild coincidence that every location in this video(apart from that Tokio department store) I've been to back in 2018. It almost felt like a trip back in time!
I can imagine Chris being all upset that he wasn't included. He'll probably make a video titled "I HAVE NO FRIENDS IN SENDAI!!" LOL
Love your work, the editing is always amazing. Always puts a smile on my face when I see your videos 😁
Cheers!!
The Canadian Buddies are back, and today they are trying the most hip drink in Sendai .... Edamame Smoothie chunky edition 🥤
Sharla's reaction to hornets besides being hilarious is super relatable 🤣🤣

Jokes aside, I loved having a video with you and Sharla again, it was a lotta fun! Sendai seems so nice, I hope i can go there one day ~
((Also I almost choked on my noodles when the Pokemon suit appeared help xD))
Yea….if the path is sketchy just send Norm first lol
@@rebeccakrupke8334 and let him bump into a wasp nest thingy xD
Seeing Sendai from a different perspective instead of the one I saw from Abroad in Japan was a welcome experience! Btw that view from the mountaintop is AAAAMMMAAAZZZZZZINNNNGGGG!!!!
Sendai is sooo beautiful!! It's always peaceful to live in a place which has a combination of everything in it...the weather, nature, city!
Editing workflow on point as usual 👌🏽
Haha thanks Nigel~
After all the very chill solo videos this was all chaos. So much fun.
I love your videos, especially those that feature Sharla. The views you give us are spectacular, and the music reminded me of the movie "Terms of Endearment." Totally enjoyed this outing - thanks for taking us along!
Love the calm energy, yet excitement of seeing new places.
There's definitely something about watching a video like this and going "I recognize that, I've been there!" that gives you the warm fuzzies. Can't wait to go back.
Yep, Japanese countrysides are like that. Very Nostalgic
This video was so nostalgic for me! I lived in Sendai (right down the street from Sendai station and AER building) for 3 years and that view from Aoba-Jo takes me right back! I love videos with Sharla they're always the best vibe and something funny always seems to happen lol
Great work man, as always.
Thanks~
Man I love your videos, they are so full of positive energy and that just makes me happy and smile
So many beautiful views, I really liked those driving shots too.... as I was typing this that last scene with the pokemon suit... new favorite thing right there
Awesome vlog thanks . Those nerf shoes oh yeah ! The suit , total madness . Love it . I am obsessing with all the greenery in the video.
Gorges always look amazing. Clothing combo at the end should be a MUST wear in every meeting going forward, unless something more colorful comes along.
I have some business in Sendai at the end of this month and have a few days off to explore.. super pumped. Nice timing on this video😩❤️
this is wholesome man, love your videos, been watching your videos since just now, ady done few almost 30 mins video, never tired of it. keep it up man.
Her reaction when she've noticed the nest was priceless 😂and I feel like Sharla loves forcing people into drinking this shake 🤣
I love your expression when you taste the milkshake. I've never seen a face that so clearly screamed "wait this is good?"
I got goosebumps just by seeing Sharla's reaction plus all the blips of censorship. Then you showed the hornets nest, and I understood why she got so scared.
Double Trouble! It's so nice seeing you two on a vídeo together! :)
Missed seeing you two together!! Enjoyed this video xx
Ahhh awesome notif to wake up to! ^.^ can’t wait to watch this one, you and Sharla are always a pleasure to watch

I love it when you guys film together!
Those landscape shots with the clouds are gorgeous Norm! Would make amazing screen savers.
The colors of those shoes really work together, very late 80's/early 90's... reminds me of my childhood.
So great to see you with Sharla! Adventure time 😊😊
😊
I've been following both Sharla and Chris for so long (and now more recently; last five years or so, the guys on trash taste), I'm so surprised UA-cam never recommended your channel to me! I love your content!
I love the Shorm vibe in these videos! Thanks for sharing
Love seeing my fellow Canadians together… brings so much joy!
That suit is amazing, but those shoes are perfect for you!!! Plus, pigeon socks! The best.
Lol you're stylin' in that suit!! And those shoes are fantastic colors!
I like that on the background, you can hear the cicadas, I find it really relaxing
That was so beautiful! Thank you guys, love Sharla 😺
too
Wonderful Video. Hope one day i will be visiting Japan. Maybe visit Sendai and hopefully have the chance to say hi to Norm and Sharla as well.
I love outdoors , so I'm planning a move to Japan in the very near future 😘 . Nature is always " GREAT " !!! 🥰🥰🥰
12:21 "Not that!"
What a fun video, loved watching the two of you together!

Glad to see Sendai. My fiance is from near there so it's really nice to watch with her and have her show me places she's been.
great collaboration. I love so much UA-cam videos on Japan. I cherish the years I lived in Tokyo.
Ow, I've been up that AER building. Super nice views, and if I remember correctly, free.
Love you guys together ❤️
ah, the view of Sandai is really nice :) I also like the sound of cicadas, but they are so loud! We have some similar bugs, crickets, they also made some noise but are not THAT loud and way smaller.
SHARLA'S BACK. Also didn't knew she moved to Sendai.
Happened super recently!
@@TokyoLens Must have. I remembered seeing a couple videos recently where she mentioned she was in Morioka
Your content is so fun lately I love this video and the thrift shop one! I miss exploring and your videos have been such a great escape! 😁😁
Sendai is the home of Yuzuru Hanyu, Japan’s greatest figure skater ever.
Thanks for the tour!
Great video Norm
I love it when you two team up! That outfit was so over the top amazing. It deserves a photo shoot come fall.
So jealous of those shoes man. Those are awesome. Reminds me of my childhood when I had a pair of high-top pumps. Now u just need and auto-sizing/built-in air dry jacket.
I really like the end bit. Can't wait to see more.
Watching you and Sharla out for a day of fun was great! And oddly made me want to try the chunky edamame shake. 🌸
Such a beautiful place, loved the video man!! Keep up the amazing work!
The deep channel with water running through was gorgeous!
Man, I miss Sendai so much! For 3 years I lived in Kasugamachi, right near Kokubuncho, so I love to see glimpses of the downtown area that I knew and loved so much! Omg that outfit is magical! But those shoes are amazing!
I hoping to be able to go back to Japan next year!
beautiful shots as always
Great to see a video with sharla again also love the pump shoes
The AER building has Office Vendor (great stationery) and the Pokemon store! One of my favorite places in Sendai.
UNIQLOもあるよ。
好きかは不明だけどね
I always get hit in the feels when I see a set of Japan I've been too, been meaning to go back for the longest time and spend some time photographing as many wonders of the country as possible. But with covid idk when that will be possible
I'd really love to check out Sendai the next time I go to Japan. Looks beautiful 😍
Also love Sharla!
You guys are having fun in Japan.
Japan it's so beautiful everywhere place ❤❤❤🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸
Excellent video,Norm!
😊
Norm is amused by clouds ⛅️ while sharla is with butterflies 🦋 you're so cute!
The future is assured, my friend : )
14:19
Was that little character on the drink sign Tohoku Zunko?! I completley forgot she was a mascot for a region in Japan or something like that! It's been a few years since I was really into Vocaloid, but that just brought back so many memories haha
Great to see you two in a video again! Can’t wait for the next one with all the hidden gems she’ll find :)
Hoping to see some more videos in Sendai from both of you it looks so interesting
Ahh, my two favs together again. Btw, I finally received my explore always hoodie. Can’t wait to wear it!!
Omg, the Pokemon suit! 🤣🤣🤣 You and Sharla are so great together.
The shoes are amazing!
sendai is one of the places i am considering living in to study one day so i am very excited for this video!~ (comments before i watch it? yes lol)
