But this year I couldn’t go. I feel kind of sick about it because the event was *entirely* co-opted by Palestinian activists. I don’t know how to navigate this because I can’t support terrorism. And now I also know that these campaigns being linked is not new. I just didn’t know about it. Hello from Europe/UK. Well, hard to watch only because I fully agree and I've seen this kind of material lots. Still, always good to see, and fair comment. Since 7th Oct I've really been impressed with how much people bury themselves in phones - TikTok, Instagram etc. When talking about this subject it becomes very clear that nearly nobody has read a history or has much in the way of critical thinking as a skill. Good luck with the idea that peace is possible, starting with the recognition of Israel. Of course it should on that basis. Will it? As far as I understand, that would essentially be against one of the core End-of-Days prophecies/teachings, as well as numerous others regarding Jewish people, in Islam. That's the trouble with cults/ideologies/religions - in this case all three seem to mean the same thing.

@@Lunatic4Bizcas To me it's not that important who or what was first.
Every story has got a built-up, a prelude, a 25% of merely setting the scene - before Plot Point 1.
Which then is a rollercoaster up to Plot Point 2. After which the film, novel, story or opera is winding down.
Just as a painting has a golden ratio, making that the rest is but there to shed the light to the center.
I can't tell you who wrote the script. There are very many options.
It can be the collective wisdom derived from a previous, completely vanished era. It can be that with the Big Bang, there was not only time, matter, space, but also conscience. It can be the highly compressed wisdom of a person sitting in Nazareth overlooking that hyper strategic valley of Megiddo, and deriving the future from the past patterns, just as you can already hum the Bolero of Ravel after only a minute (how amazing that all these new gas fields are off the shore of the mouth of that valley, how is that as a hook to drag greed there, and how amazing that it's so magnetic to parades of anger, wrath, envy, pride).
What I do know is that the script was and is right. Amazingly so.
I know that I know nothing. It took me a lifetime of studying, to realise that. I know that I had to learn 5 languages, to understand that I have nothing to say. Mine is but a human brain of 3 pounds. We can't even understand the universe of our subconscious, etc. Forget about how difficult it is to imagine what it is, to be outside of the dimension of time.
What would that entail? Do you see the end from the beginning, or the beginning from the end, or do you see everything at the same time?
Do you see how a people or a person behaves in their specific role, and do you start liking them, and invisibly start to steer or help them?
Do you steer some towards all the resources everywhere, so that they slowly start learn how to be gods, with all the electronics or bits of your own knowledge? (How to make a burning bush, a sea to open, or knowing all thoughts of everyone, all those things that some humans are capable of today).
Do you give people complete freedom, to chose between good and evil, and only interfere when the mess becomes too terrible?
I have no answers. But we're following a script, to the letter.
That is, the jews and Israel do.
All the rest of us are but the choir, extras and armies, playing the roles of good and evil.
It is said that diamonds are only the result of extreme heat and extreme pressure. That's us. You are supposed to be the diamonds.
As things stand, our lovely human race is so not going into space. They can't be trusted with it at all, until they have gone through this university of history.
We will never be gods, until we have learned the morality, long term thinking, the reasons how sins destroy and virtues build... and learned that all out of our OWN wish. Not because of that we have to because of a visible dictator-God.
There will be NO peace, as long as humans have not stopped the war in themselves.

@@retirosierra : You had me with your esoteric musings (observations) and the perplex realities in the universe as well as our relationship to that as human beings until you got to the point of alluding to the purported chosen people, according to religious scrolls and how the rest of humanity should fall in line. I respect your views on universality; however, I will not concede with the notion that there is a class of people that should be shown special deference merely due to their perceived role (carefully crafted over time) as the keeper of 'God's' word, which invariably has given advantage to that group or those who have identified themselves as belonging to that group. The origins of the mess that has wrought so much confusion and misery upon mankind needlessly is to be found in that so called ancient wisdom deriving from that 'one' source. Coming from a religious background (One of the large Christian denominations originating in the U.S), I used to have the same sort of deference you appear to have, but no longer due to a variety of reasons, which I don't have time to expound upon. To start with, the notion of a God who is to be shown so much reverence and respect (not to be questioned or named technically), yet in religious script (The Torah/Tanakh) can be found to harbor some of the worst character traits found within man, for instance; the notion that God (The Name) is a vengeful God; God (The Name) is a jealous God etc.; never mind commanding and justifying the wholesale slaughter (genocide) of different peoples and justifying such acts. This description of the 'Almighty' is problematic being that at least in the case of Christianity, this same God is purported to be an all loving God who loves all creation. The contradiction present with a punitive God who is also an all loving and caring God is just too much for me to bear or justify and is actually dangerous. This sort of narrative has played out horribly in human history and has lent itself to justifying horrific crimes; the most obvious being the extreme slaughter and genocide of the majority of native peoples/tribes in the Americas by Europeans who often times did so in the name of their Christian God (converting either by force or manipulative sophistry those who remained); which in essence is that same God mentioned in the Torah. Although I recognize that disagreement exists in the perception of who that God may be, the conceptual source is the same. I'm stating all of this from a secular standpoint with the intention of trying to be objective as possible; not pretending to be a 'know it all' or privileged to unique information; just simply as a sentient and conscious human being. On the same token, from the blueprint of Judaism and Christianity as well as through verbal stories passed down over the centuries among travelers in Arabia emerged Islam. Similar to Christianity, the problem with Islam as an expansive religion was that it became a religion of conquest as it was largely spread through war (not always of course). As I see it, the main problem present with the concept of an all powerful omniscient God is that it lends to absolutism among those who adhere to that concept as well as the gatekeepers of such (Religious leaders); and absolutism is one of the most dangerous elements that we as humans have had to contend with. While the premise of Zionism is secular as a political model and ideology, it certainly has religious overtones codified in Judaism. While many in the western world project Islam as a threat due to its association with terrorist groups or by pointing to theocratic nations like Iran that are portrayed as totalitarian, Zionism operates much differently as it imbues itself in so called democracies on the institutional level (education/law), in finance and through politics. Nowhere is this influence more pronounced than in the United States, which touts itself as being the bastion of democracy and freedom to the rest of the world. This influence has played out heavily in the unmeasured influence of Zionism in government and institutions of higher education in the U.S. While Israel is a small nation of only 10 million people, no other nation on earth exerts as much influence in the external and internal affairs through overarching Pro Israel lobbies like AIPAC and CUFI, which have bought off favor from the overwhelming majority of politicians in the U.S who do its bidding. Elite universities in the United States have been found to have ties to the State of Israel through business deals, sponsorships and arms deals (much more pronounced than any other nation). Pro Zionist presidents and Chancellors have utilized law enforcement to their advantage to intimidate, harass and arrest Pro Palestinian protestors and interrupt their encampments (a tactic that does have precedence in U.S history); the overwhelming majority of which that have conducted their demonstrations peaceably. Perhaps the worst reviling of the protesters has come through their disparagement through defamation by influential entities partial to Zionism at the institutional level and the well financed mainstream media at large; especially when it comes to the accusation of Antisemitism running rampant among Pro Palestinian encampments, when many within those encampments as well as organizations spearheading the movement are Jewish themselves. The culmination of this pernicious overarching influence was the passage of House of Representatives Bill 6090, which is an attempt to legally define the terms and parameters for what constitutes Antisemitism. Among those terms that constitute Antisemitism is any criticism aimed toward the State of Israel to include its foreign policy stances. Such a bill is an affront to the 1st Amendment of the constitution as it violates the exercise of free speech; and it exemplifies just how compromised the politicians of a purported sovereign nation (the U.S) are to a foreign entity (The state of Israel). Look, I appreciate your humility in recognizing after years of study that you have come to the realization that your knowledge is minuscule or amounts to nothing in the grander scheme of things. We are all finite beings therefore our understanding is limited and we are living on borrowed time. It is for this very reason that as flawed human beings, we shouldn't exalt anyone over another, which obviously includes a group of human beings that identifies themselves as being being part of a special or privileged group (whatever the reason may be) as well as being generally regarded by others outside that group as being such. Here's also where I find the concept of a holy overarching deity to be problematic as well, because deference to such an authority, which according to scripture has flaws yet is deemed to be flawless has proven needlessly disastrous for mankind. Any sort of collective punishment; exclusion or inhumanity toward other fellow human beings can be justified by deference to that one entity; even in the case of differing groups vying for favor from that same entity and looking upon their particular group or faction as being elect, therefore resulting in conflict. To put things in context, there are aspects about Judaism culturally and religiously that I admire and respect like the long held practice of debating over and interpreting the religious writings of scripture, rabbis and sages as well as teachings of personal accountability. I also have a tremendous respect for rabbis who delve into universal esoteric teachings and have a flexible view of spirituality rooted in the great work and ideas of sages like Maimonides. I respect the right of anyone to believe and practice whatever ritual they may as long as those beliefs don't extend into being applied widely through influence in the political realm (As a political project/ideology), in establishing institutional bias and in interfering with others human rights. As a human race we share one world, we all make mistakes, we all have triumphs, joys, failures, basic needs and are susceptible to infirmities or even being the unfortunate or unwitting victims of violence. Since we all live on borrowed time, we are all learning to one extent or another. Having compassion and empathy one toward another which is expressed out of genuine love and concern are our greatest traits as a species. These traits are universal whether we ascribe to a religion or not. At this point in human history, we should learn that application of religiosity to exert authority by implementing rule based on religion to be applied broadly does not work and is untenable in the long run. Having said that, I do believe in the sovereignty and self determination of nations and people. If a majority of people within a nation are content and wish to establish a nation based on a religion or ideology, that is fine as long as it doesn't interfere with the sovereignty of others who do not belong to that particular nation. I nor anyone else should not have the authority to dictate to others what they should do, how they should live their lives or what system they should adhere to etc. etc.

@@Lunatic4Bizcas Hello, thanks a lot for your reply, non-judgemental, non-attacking, polite, careful, - in other words a true debate, such one hardly ever sees any longer, definitely not online 🙂. Thx for that.
It's also a very lengthy one, and a topic spanning millennia, so how on earth could I react to everything. You seem to be genuine, thx again, so I'll try to be that too 😁😱. Smth I hardly ever still bother about, because for most people i live on a different planet and with every word i sail away even more to orinoco flow instead of getting to a middle ground 😁. Fortunately your nick is lunatic, which hints at you not taking yourself too seriously either.
After all, should we follow the theory that everything is but the result of randomness, then so are our thoughts.
And today is Pentecost, so let's talk in tongues (English is not my 1st nor 2nd language), literal and spiritual ones. For all I know the bomb drops tomorrow, or the black-out, or everything that we in the West have allowed our elite to do all over the place, we felt comfortable with it, so should feel comfortable to receive it.
Communication is difficult, every human is an island, and perspectives are different.
Mine is coming from an alley at the bottom of an old Moorish fortress, the type of barrio where the jews would have sat during 600 years under Muslim rule (between stables and animals, just outside the wall, being a first wall of human flesh). But also before, under the Visigoths and the Romans, there were moments of heavy suppression.
I mention this first and foremost, to show that I don't see there was much advantage, if any, in a role of representing or spreading a message of God. If anything, it has brought them a lot of misery and disadvantages.
A few "advantages" indeed: survival of the fittest, investing in things that you can easily take with you when you're being expulsed (aka knowledge).
And when they DROP the role of standing apart, being a messenger, fully integrate, become atheist... then the persecution is even worse (Holocaust). Jews have been targeted for and accused of being communist, capitalist, being too rich, being poor and pale, the cause of the pest, of the crumbling of the economy, of being too powerful, of being too weak and useless... anything under the sun. No, I don't see any advantage in being / calling yourself / being seen as "chosen" - which is chosen as TOOL, by the way, nothing more, no reverence needed, one doesn't have reverence for a spade, the spade gets the worst hits. This is also why I'm not passionate about anything of this, you can't get passionate about a spade or tool, you know that for your own sake you want to maintain it very well, but that's it.
When you say that some groups have overarching influence, how come? Are other people less intelligent or motivated or unified to become a good lobby? How come that one "wins" in this domain? Are there not 1.5 billion Muslims, 30 million in Europe alone? You'd say many peoples should be able to be formidable pressure groups.
Well, I can see at least one reason. If for 600 years you are not allowed to do anything, but to sit in your stable, turn pale, be forced to collect the taxes (the divide and rule thing of the fortress), what can you do? Study. Read. All religeous texts and all languages of everyone (arabic, amazigh, kurdish, turkish, latin, the Spanish of the day), the philosophers, the emperors, rhetoric, science.
All others are becoming strong, performing healthy jobs, as military, farmer, carpenter, look down on you from their horses - you become strong in humility, science, psychology, diplomacy, etc. That's the light you are SUPPOSED to bring.
So then you rise again, become the right hand or councilor of sultan and king, and then you're hated again for right that.
If humanity zooms in on any 'Israel issue', sorry humanity, you created it, you trained it, it was you ploughing the soil and seeds. If in Germany you want to see jews as communists, and in the USSR as capitalists or theists, everything at one and the same time, you might have a really irrational hatred within you. You YET have to learn a difficult lesson. It is you, who makes all prophecies fulfil, such as the jews being scattered, remaining small in number, carrying a curse, returning to Israel, making it turn green, becoming powerful... (what option have you got, when you're a sliver in an ocean of enmity, in a brutal region, having a war on your hands every 10 years). It's like history's longest or strangest liberation struggle.
I do have to smile about smth. In 1492 the jews had to leave Spain. Their deadline was the 9th of Av (11/9), a date that either was coincidental or cleverly chosen, for that also having been the date of both the destruction of the 1st and 2nd temple, so the start of 2 previous expulsions. Oh, psychological warfare! Clever! So there the last ones went, on ships from Palos de la Frontera. One day before Columbus set sail there, resulting in the New World, which also became the new promised land for jews.
Nah, I don't know who wrote it, but there is a stunning, intricate script or programming.
      So far about Judea 🙂.
And as to Christianity having done evil, any ideology has, any next one even worse than the previous one. Where there is an energy, a thought force, someone will be quick to use and abuse it.
"You shall not call anyone Father"... and within a split second there will be a pope (father) who'll jump forwards, pretend to be the leader of the energy or beautiful thus dangerous thought - and lead the millions in the wrong direction.
You shall not call anyone father, rabbi or master... for it's a given that giving a human this title or status, only leads to tragedy, deceit, destruction.
Sort of as at this grain of sand in time, fascism dresses itself up as anti-fascism and lures an energy with candy colors, the last drumbeats of the Bolero of the stranger with his candy.
I'm gay, by the way, as in 2024 one seems to have to define or reduce one self to, whereas for me that's but on the 5th or 10th layer of the painting, first and foremost I'm human, in the human experience, and I let all flags march to the lowest point on earth they desire.
Hey, I don't know if I have anything right as to The Script. We might only know this, when also the USA collapses and disappears, being stabbed in the back by a new power, after having dropped Israel, immense pride comes before immense destruction, first all surrounding countries war on Israel, then the whole world, then Israel being decimated but still once again a remnant surviving, all people receiving a mark without which they cannot buy and sell, etc. We will see. Personally I am very happy to have digested that, am detached from it, find it deserved, even and especially also my own judgment (what am I doing here, so indifferent to wearing clothes made by slaves, with a phone filled with coltan dug up by children in Congo, the electricity from the uranium in Niger whereas Niger itself has to live with electricity cuts, what am I doing not having used my voice against the destruction of Irak over a lie, the use of "bringing democracy" as the new religion,.... ad infinitum. I have CONTRIBUTED to the destruction of species and rivers, i have NOT been a gardener or shepherd, why would or could I be trusted with an Eden? ).
We will see. Maybe I will only grasp what my own level of light is, by the ferocity with which darkness will persecute me. I don't care, I won't play, it's not my play, have no self-pity, have not erased house or finances or nation or gender to the level of idol, I sit back and watch, the ruins of the Roman Empire, the Greeks, Egypt, Babylon Assyria, Catholic Kingd, 3rd Reich, USSR, all those formidable Goliaths who are gone, while their little David has been forced to practise with a forever better sling.
A little David that's still, as many tribes, the same hodgepodge that would have dwelt through the desert. Still organises early morning raves under influence around a golden calf, as though forever stuck as a broken record in Exodus 32.
The learning curve of humans is and has to be a very long one.
We are all but, or should all be trying to make the very best of the own tiny role given.
Mine seems to be Psalm 91 as sung by Sons of Korah, or the whole work of Leonard Cohen. How I love that man! He evokes the seemingly most dreadful future, but ever so smiling, accepting, oom-pah-pah. I joyfully sing along with Closing Time, or I've seen the future brother.
Did I recently for fun take a DNA origin test. Expecting to be a 100% Germanic or Scandinavian. Did the results come from left field: entirely Sephardic and Arabic. Of all the places on earth, I settled as High horse in donkey street. No idea about the script or programming or how ancestors tried to capture it in words, but it's delicious. When it also dawns on you that you moved here by coincidence on the day that you turned 40, and even as atheist you said "uf, I'm out of the desert".
La vida es bella. I'm so thankful to have been given a peaceful, happy, unworrying mind. For all I know the last pebble is a meteorite, and I'll just smile. I will find it just, a repetitive Bolero has to end somehow.
To complete the image of lunatic or esotheric, I have always thought that when Cohen sang "I've seen the future, brother", that he HAD. picked from the air or soil as all resources and music being hidden for us to find. I thought: "He has the same dreams as me". Though for half of my life i had no idea where these dreams were coming from. A bit puzzling for example to live in rural Europe and to dream about a destruction of NY. Or in 2017 about quarantines. Etc. etc. Resulting in this complete detachment, as in "been there, seen the movie, bought the T-shirt".
Which is why i also ended as Cohen: "Hineni, hineni, I'm ready my Lord".

*Tals Videos and discussions shows how education can really shape what we think about history and ourselves. For example, in Israel, the way history is taught sometimes makes people believe Jews have always been in the region for 3000 years. However, historical records show that before many Jews moved there from Europe, and later from Middle Eastern, Arabic, and African countries, there were only about 15,000 indigenous Jews living there. This kind of education can simplify the story a lot and might cover up the true, complex history of the place.*

it depends on when (what period of time) do you start referring the population as indigenous.. there were lots of deportations of population in the land throughout thousands of years - for example in 500 CE there were about 2.5M individuals in this land.. while in 1200 CE the population went down to 250K..
This land was part of all the world's empires occupations and had a lot of colonizers that displaced the native population and brought in new nations.
Think about that.. Israel is the connection point of three continents: Asia-Africa-Europe, where most of human's ancient history took place.
This situation is not comparable to the US colonizing the native Americans or to the Australians the native Australians, simply because the land of Israel was never been isolated as those lands been.
The fact that you choose the spot when Arabs (who mostly came throughout the Arab invasion and the Ottoman Empire time-line from places like Egypt, Saudi and Jordan, Kurdistan, Chechnya..) were the native is simply false and unhistorical.
The only nation that has ever independently ruled this land for hundreds of years are the Jews, so many archeological and historical evidences support that

Eurovision obviously isn't usually like it was this year, it's usually just about the music and performances. Those Na-zi wannabes might carry on trying to oust Israel from the contest even past this war though, but hopefully they wont. I think those of us in Europe who like Eurovision, the organisers of Eurovision, and the contestants of Eurovision in the upcoming years will call BS on these wannabe Na-zis though, i just have a feeling about that. I feel that if these people don't stop then Eurovision might be a no live audience show for a year or a few years. It goes against the meaning of the whole competition to oust Israel, so, they wont do that.

6:45. IN 1948, indigenous, Jewish numbers were *estimated to be around 20,000 to 30,000 out of the total Jewish population of about 650,000 at that time.* In 1948, excluding the recent European and other migrant Jewish populations, the *indigenous Jewish community in Palestine was relatively small.* This group, often referred to as the "old Yishuv," comprised Jews who had lived in the region for generations, some tracing their presence back centuries. These families were primarily concentrated in the *four holy cities: Jerusalem, Hebron, Tiberias, and Safed.* Again, their numbers were *estimated to be around 20,000 to 30,000 out of the total Jewish population of about 650,000 at that time.*

I don't know where you're getting your numbers from (TikTok? Jew-hating professors?) but all Jews are indigenous to Israel, just as all Roma (Gypsies) are indigenous to India and all African-Americans are indigenous to Africa. That aside, there was a huge spike in the Arab population in British Palestine from the 1900s to the 1930s. This was the result of a large migration of Arabs from French Syria-Lebanon to British Palestine because of the modern economy that the Yishuv was building. So, actually, many Jews have been in Israel for a lot longer than many Palestinians. (In fact, originally, "Palestinian" was a term associated with the Jews and rejected by the local Arabs who preferred to self-identify as "Syrian," "South Syrian" or just Arab.)

At 6:02: Considering that Jews have clocked more years hanging out in Europe than in Israel, do you think Christians should cough up some European real estate as reparations? It’s only fair, right? 😅 After centuries of dealing with economic success followed by thuggery-a little land swap might be a nice gesture from European Christians 😂!

8:40 Tal- the term 'white supremacist' could metaphorically encompass some attitudes and practices within Israeli society that privilege Ashkenazi (European-origin) Jews over Jews from other backgrounds, such as Mizrahi (Middle Eastern and North African) and Ethiopian Jews.
You will agree that, although over the years, there has been a growing presence of non-white Jews in various sectors of society, including politics, media, and the military, reflecting some progress toward integration. However, the pace of change and the depth of integration vary widely among communities and individuals is still prejudicial and European Jews feel more superior and privileged.

Are you Jewish? If not, why are you talking for the Jews? I'm Ashkenazi. I don't feel superior to Mizrahi Jews. I don't know any Ashkenazi who feels superior to Mizrahis. Are we lying?

@@condovoIn Israel, as you know, *there are various Jewish communities with different backgrounds and traditions.* Among these, Ashkenazi Jews from Central and Eastern Europe and Sephardic and Mizrahi Jews from Mediterranean and Middle Eastern countries are significant groups. *It is without doubt, sometimes, tensions arise between these groups* because of differences in their: cultural practices, economic status, and roles in society. *Historically, Ashkenazi Jews have held more political and economic power, which has led to disagreements and feelings of inequality among the communities.*
*However, over time, the distinctions have started to blend somewhat due to intermarriage and social integration, but some underlying tensions still remain.*
