@Padraig Warren no because let’s put it this way. Had the mitigating circumstances outweighed the aggravating and they gave him death I would have been just as mad because then he should have gotten life. But the aggravating outweighed the mitigating so the correct punishment was death. All 12 jurors agreed even that the proper punishment was indeed death but juror Denise Cunha couldn’t get herself to sentence him correctly. There for the law was not followed. Your comment this didn’t go the way most people wanted doesn’t even fit here….it’s not a sporting event. It’s the law. Period.
I am all for the death penalty when there is sufficient evidence that the person being charged did it. Why should they live in prison off our tax payer dollars.
With all due respect, neither verdict was justice to the families. In reality, none of them are ever going to get what they want back, their children are never going to come back. Hoping for vengance isn't justice either. I believe the system still hasn't found an apropriate "punishment" for these types of crimes. The DP is an easy way out, even if they have to wait 10 years. What's the real definition of justice here that doesn't involve making the gunman suffer in revenge? I want to know that.
Not enough but the death penalty feels closer to the solution. Honestly the best karma is that the inmates take care of him. So he himself doesn't know when his last day is, his last moments are filled with fear and it's not painless so the rest of society doesn't have to spend another penny on him. That is an inch closer to justice for all the hurt that guy caused.
The shooter will not suffer,he will be fed, watered, cared for by the state for the rest of his life. I don't believe he'll ever regret his evil crime,he'll have years to remember x relive his moments of,to him ,glory. He attacked his guard x probably will try it again. I'm in England x this trial cought my eye back in the summer, never watched one before. What is the point of having a death sentence if its not used, this case if ever there was one warrant it. From what I've learned even with death penalty, will be yests before anything happened. To this category of folks, it's just another way of life and yes, to some, it's even better than freedom since they can't supervise themselves in society. Incarcerated, they don't have to work, 3 meals a day, medical care at the ready: they can watch tv, learn a hobby or go for a degree, "work" for pay, the Crumbley kid looks forward to manage his fan mail, etc. This one is already receiving love letters.

Life in prison can be much worse than the death penalty. The problem with life in prison, sometimes they are released on good behavior early to make room for more prisoners.
Not in this case, though. “Without the possibility of parole,” means exactly that. There is no mechanism by which his sentence can be reviewed, save by appeal and even then there’s no hope of reviewing that aspect of the sentence, only the safety of the conviction on the basis of new evidence or, “by reason of insanity,” which has already been rejected. The Parkland shooter will never breathe free air again, and I cannot imagine a worse sentence in America. Death row drags on for many years with the sword of Damocles hanging over your head, but you have special isolation to protect you from the prison population, which this criminal will not get. His fate is sealed unless there is a change in fundamental law in the USA, which is not going to happen because prison populations are tied into America’s economic model too deeply. A massive free labour market for the government to exploit, making everything from licence plates to window glass. That’s an entire 10% of America’s population, btw.
No what your ass who has never been to prison doesn't get that it's not worse than the death penalty! This is why Jeffery Dahmer was killed because the guy thought he was living too good behind bars and didn't care about his crimes. You get to walk about the prison, have jobs, watch TV, got to the library, play pool, chess etc. Death penalty means you are put in another part of the prison and you are not allowed anything including visitors! 23 hours a day lockdown and you only get let out alone in shackles and can't interact with other inmates while you await your death that will take decades!! Now that's hell and way worse than prison!! It's fear of this that stops most prisoners killing eachother in prison because that will also be the result!!

Who thinks that he will not come to regret the loss of his freedom? That he will not want to kill himself at some point? And on many occasions.
