I BOUGHT ONE AND FOR THE MONEY ITS THE BEST MID SIZE TRUCK .IVE PUT 30000 MILES AND NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER. THANK YOU GENIRAL MOTORS. I THINK SOME OF THE PROBLEMS ARE THAT PEOPLE BUY THIS TRUCK FOR THE WRONG REASON.
Thanks for your input. BTW: Has anyone ever mentioned to you that typing in ALL CAPS is the same as yelling. Lots of folks around the internet think it's really annoying. Enjoy your Colorado!
Pretty good MPG. I wonder what the 2WD would get? In my 55-years of owning trucks, I have never needed anything more than 2WD with Posi-traction. I always specified Posi difs whether 2WD, or a 4WD where I always ordered posi front and rear, though, I rarely ever engaged 4WD, the only exception was my Chevy LUV which didn't have and posi available . The few times I did with my trucks and Suburbans were in deep dry sand and pulling logs up to the landing. I put over a half million miles on my 81' Chevy 2500HD 2WD crewcab with posi and never got stuck and that truck was ran from the Beaufort Sea/Prudhoe Bay to Belize, forded rivers and streams and climbed mountains to jeep camps. 4WD is generally an expensive waste of equipment and fuel. Save your money and just spec the $325 traction differential or the pkg. with the Dif included. Thanks for the update.
Different options for different folks. Plus in today's preassembled builds for 85% of the past customers the options you mentioned are not always availible. BTW: Had posi in my 79 9C1 Impala, my 2002 Z28, and 2024 Chevrolet SS. They did not like snow or really wet roads.
I love my colorado. I have the same trim with the same engine and trans. My only complaints are the radio not always working with android auto or bluetooth and what recently caused me to take it in to the dealership was my forward collision assist system malfunctioning and activating randomly, almost causing me to crash. I just hope to get back on the road as soon as possible. Great video!
Just today the Service Manager in Payson gave me a tip on the Android auto issue. In your phone's settings go to phone info and double check for updates. I found an update waiting and sure enough that fixed it. Good luck with the collision system.
Great update on the truck. I have the Canyon version and love it so far. I am around 20mpg average, but with a bunch of stop and go it is expected. I find the Canyon drives very well with weight in the back and it holds the weight very well with little to no sag.
Have not heard anything like it, and I keep the radio at a low level. Which trim do you have? Might it be the tires? Might check on some of the other Colorado channels. Good luck.
It's on par with other midsized pickups, especially Tacomas. At 6 ft I have the driver's sear well back. With the passenger front seat about half way back my 83 yr old neighbors both fit fine. Of course no problem with Boone riding back there. Honestly, if one is hauling 2 or 3 adults on a regular basis a full size truck would be in order. Thanks for watching and for your question.
I have the same WT Colorado, (I like mine as much as you like yours) although mine did not come with 4WD or Cruise Control. Really wish I had cruise control, + I am not sure the dealer can install it... :-( Nice truck, great review.
Thanks! When browsing the GM Accessories website page they do show a listing for "cruise Control" So maybe it can be added by the dealer, for a pretty penny! Good luck!
Thanks, I started a pool cleaning business and thinking about getting this truck for the next 2024 season. I really like it, I don’t quite understand what package you have to put with the WT to get the center console. Thanks for the review.
The trailing package mandates the center console, meaning the console comes with the trailering package. If you will be hauling a trailer on a regular basis you may want the advanced trailing package, more camera views and the trailer app that checks your light connections and other items.
Chevy claims they use some form of molded in color process to avoid fading. Who knows? As far as plastic front bumper, I'm sure it's a weight saving issue and the ability to make styling choices. Not to be a wise acre but there are folks who wish Corvettes didn't have fiberglass. Thanks for commenting.
Rocking out with Metallica impressive, how do you like the new Stones album? These trucks are amazing, this model is the same size of an old Silverado extended cab seems to me.
Actually never was much of a Stones fan, "Paint it Black " and "Satisfaction" being the ones I like. Trucks have grown in size across the board. Had a 2011 Silverado 4 door and it was too big (for me) overall. There are a few times I wish the Colorado was closer in size to the 90 S10.
I imagine the white colour helps in keeping the heat off as well :) From the side view, considering the sizes of the doors, is there even a backseat? :D Glad you hear you can get in and out of the truck easily! I've heard that automatic transmissions usually have trouble 'crawling' in the less than 5kph / 5mph speed so that it can move by itself and you only need to use the brakes sounds good. Regarding the USB, I think the general trend these days is using the bluetooth so you can set the music / playlists you want on your mobile phone, so that might explain why the USB options are so rudimentary. Yup, it's usually the case that the system may have shipped with factory defaults so if it can access the internet (as it seems to be doing?), it would automatically download updates. I think another thing to consider in reviews, especially since your place seems so 'outdoorsy' is how good are the headlamps at night, especially for places where the roads may not have street lights.
Thanks for your thoughtful and insightful comments. You are correct about the headlamps. I was going to mention that the halogen units are quite bright in the pitch black high desert nights, but forgot. I need to script these out better? Should have mentioned the back seat but as I rarely take passengers and Boone is OK with it, did not. However the rear seat room is on par with the Tacoma and, stranger than true, has more room that a friend's full size GMC Sierra. Most GM vehicles in the last 10-12 years are always "on" for data exchange. Even when cancelling On Star for the Equinox I still received updates on maintenance or tire pressure issues. Back in the daze body colour did have some impact on cabin temps. Since the 80s noise insulations have mitigated that. Windows are the real culprit.
Before I heard about the roof issue I always hand washed with 2 bucket method. And not to pick nits but if the dryer vents ride on a roller is it truly no touch? Tacoma trucks have been known to suffer paint scratches in car washes. But at least they're not being recalled for safety reasons.
I bought a new Colorado Trail Boss,, i like your truck too since it’s 4 wheel drive,,, but why did you put that American flag decal on crooked,,that bugs me!
Thank you for showing how you get in and out the truck Hardly anyone shows simple but important things like that!
Yeah. trucks are different from passenger cars for sure. You're welcome.

Nice revue and update! Very informative!
Thank you.

I opted for the high output Turbomax and the limited slip in my 2004. Good advice.
Keep us updated. Thanks. Well done!
You're welcome. I've some more coming up plus a Short on a 2000 miles mini update.

Thank you and good luck. Colorado is tough to beat.
Great review
Thank you.
Thanks for the update!

Thanks for your input. Happy to hear your Canyon is treating you well. Nice to read to about the weight. Have Fun.
When will they make brush guards for this vehicle
Mine makes a humming type sound when you get around 43 mph then stops around 50-51 mph not sure if that is normal.
Have not heard anything like it, and I keep the radio at a low level. Which trim do you have? Might it be the tires? Might check on some of the other Colorado channels. Good luck.
How about room ,space for back seat passengers ?

23+ mpg that’s awesome
Yup! The best tank so far is 24.86. Almost hard to believe.
I hope the black plastic will last a long time before its starts fading to the sun. I wish they wouldn't use that much plastic for the front bumper.

Nice job.
Thanks
good job sr

I like browns tans red no grays
AND NOW..COLORADO AND CANYON WHEN USING NO TOUCH CAR WASH..DENTS THE ROOF..

Because I'm terrible at putting on decals. But it's gone and installed another pair in a different location.
Thanks for the update!
