    These are what I use, bought them right after they were released and I love them. One thing about them I am very happy with is the tweeter spread size is way bigger than a typical tweeter. There is no problem sitting a bit left or right or lower or higher ~ your ears will clearly hear the highs.

      Just demo'd them at sweetwater and the stage is fantastic compared to the Yamahas, big hole in the midrange, but the bass on the 7" was on par with the Yamahas at 8"... boy these sure would be great in a 3-way

    I compared the Adams T7V to the T5V. While I enjoyed the 7's extra volume and Bass, I felt the 5's were the Better monitor. The mids seemed more articulate and Natural. Bought the 5's.

    I own a pair of T7Vs and they exceeded my expectations for the budget. I was kind of mixed up feelings when the T8Vs came out, but besides de extra watts they got, the extra low frequency they offer is not much to make the switch. They also feel more like middle field monitors. Perhaps I should wait for the T9Vs to come 😄

    • @mixdownonline
      @mixdownonline  3 роки тому

      If you enjoy your JBL 305's, know them pretty well and that your mixes translate well. I wouldn't recommend to replace them yet. Unless you want to upgrade, get a different sound or getting a second pair of monitors. On my side, I do work with 2 pairs of monitors and headphones to get more than one perspective. So maybe these could be a good fit to add to your setup, and they will not break your bank account :-)

      Lol! That depends, I would go for the Adam T8v if money was an issue, hard to find something better at this price range. If someone has more budget, combining the Kali IN-8 with a sub is a killer system, I would miss the nice smooth top end of the T8v's though but will get a more focused Mid-Range in return.

    Nice review. You got a lot of rumble on your mic though... thanks for the comparison to the Kali. I feel the Alesis M1 had a bit more bass (not low bass though) due to the 2 ports at the front - but maybe they were just out of control. I think if you want to "feel" the bass on the Kali, you gotta turn them up - and they sound a-maz-ing. Reference Peter Gabriel with them and they really make you feel stuff. But they are also brutally honest about the mids. I think for us small studios it's a matter of getting used to and learning to like what you work with. And if you don't like it, get rid of them and get a different pair ;)

      Hey, I see you have the Kali audio IN 8 v2. I also have them and love them but I discovered a small issue with my monitors. I get a strange small audible feedback from the woofer itself when soloing deep bass, the sound is almost like a rhythmic vinyl crackle that plays along with the source material. On my monitors it’s not really audible until you hold your ear up Against the woofer. It’s only present on a sustained bass note or say a deep 808 bass drum that has a long decay. It’s a bit strange and I’m trying to figure out what’s causing the noise. Is it possible for you to check if this noise is present on your monitors? It’s not a huge issue but it’s definitely something to point out. Let me know if you hear the same sound I described id highly appreciate it. Trying to figure out if this happens on all the Kali audio in 8 v2s or if it’s just something that went wrong with mine which I doubt because I take care of them. I’ve had them for about two months now. Love them aside from this small issue. Check to see if yours make this noise and let me know!

    Allo Chris,
    J’aimerais acheter les A5X avec le sub 8 pouce mais je me demande si je ne devrais pas plutôt acheter les A7X avec le sub 10 pouce.
    Ces derniers sont quand même plus cher et sur le site internet d’adam audio il ne semble pas y avoir de différence dans les composantes si ce n’est que la puissance.
    As tu déjà essayé ceux-ci ou as tu déjà entendu parler d’eux ?
    Moi j’ai un petit home studio donc je n’ai pas besoin d’une puissance de son trop grande, par contre une bonne qualité et un bon sub.

      Allo Amy,
      J'ai pas essayé les A7X mais j'ai entendu que du bon, donc c'est loin d'être un mauvais choix. Comme tu dit, ton home studio est petit et tu veux un sub en plus. Je crois dans ce cas the les A5X avec un sub vont être OK pour toi. Les A7X on aussi un Bass Woofer plus gros de les A5X, donc ils vont plus bas dans les basses mais on s'en fou un peu car tu va avoir un sub pour couvrir les basse anyway ;-)

      @@mixdownonline Allo Chris,
      J'ai une petite question et je sais que tu en a déjà parlé et que d'autres comme Dom en ont déjà parlé aussi, mais je vais de la demandé quand même.
      Lorsque je mixe comme en se moment j'ai souvent de la difficulté à équilibrer mon son entre les différents instruments est-ce normal ?
      Je sais que tout le monde parle du gain staging, est ce que cela m'aiderait dans le balancement du son ?
      De ce que j'en comprends, je mets mes fader à zéro avant de commencer mon mixe et j'ajuste chacun de mes instruments pour qui soit par exemple à -18, -15 dfs ?
      En fait j'oublis toujours de le faire et après avoir commencé je me dis ca va aller je travaille juste avec des VST. Ouain bon ca va aller je ne suis pas sur lol !
      Car là je dois faire des automations et c'est compliquer à bien ajuster. Bon je sais que mixer c'est compliquer hihi, mais il y a surement des moyens pour se faciliter la vie !
      Bon sur cela je vais aller écouter district 31 !

    • @mixdownonline
      @mixdownonline  3 роки тому +1

      Salut Amy, oui effectivement le mixage est une chose très simple à manoeuvrer, et le meilleur conseil au travers un commentaire est de pratiquer, c'est le genre de truc qui avec de la pratique, on deviens meilleur.
      Le gain staging est seulement une façon de géré son "Headroom" lors de l'enregistrement et le mixage. Les chiffres de - 18 dbfs sont une moyenne. Tu peux peaker à -8 et être en moyenne entre - 18 et - 15 dbfs. Et tout ça n'est qu'un point de référence, sans plus. La réalité est que le Gain Staging affectera pas nécessairement la qualité de ton MIX, juste un meilleur workflow à mon avis. Perd pas trop de temps à évaluer les chiffres.
      J'ai une formation de Mixage de disponible, si tu t'abonne gratuitement à mon Workshop gratuit, tu va avoir une offre spéciale sur ma formation premium sur le Mixage. mixdown.online/free
