Not bad 😂 well I appreciate it sir lol. Yeah we looked at Sexton but I liked the fit of Simmons more. Hometown kid, creates his own shot, contract and age match well. I understand your other points but I’ll stick with mine. Love these discussions though, so fun to explore!!
Portland is going to want picks and a trade exception from Orlando, so I think it's just a matter of how much draft capital Orlando is willing to part with for Simons.
Simons fits perfectly with Suggs and Anthony Black. Both Suggs and AB are capable defensive players. Both Suggs and AB aren’t as fully offensively capable as Simons, seamless fit perfect compromise.
I think Simons coming back to the Orlando area rejuvenate him. He’s never played on a team as good as the Magic and we already have a defensive pitbull in Suggs. Also he’s coming in to be the 2nd or 3rd option and he’s never played with two 6’10” forwards that can go get their own buckets. He could statistically have his best season back home in Orlando. I think he levels up.
Zach edey instead of kelel ware…we’re the perfect team to take edey. He’s a scoring machine (maybe not from 3) and if the concern is how he switches and moves his feet on defense I think we got that covered. Our size and switch ability plays in his favor.
@@WaliWrlddd Lol sorry for the scare I had to compare the money 😂. As far as Edey goes I don’t see that fit working out great. @AVC_Streams I'm saying we don't have the personnel from the trail blazers perspective. I think he could fit great in Orlando. We just did the tons of small guards thing for 10 years with Dame and Cj so I think the fans are ready to build around Scoot and Sharpe.

I would try to trade draft picks only for Simons - do not think we want to give up both our young shooting wings when we need shooting. Give them one of Jett or Caleb, but not both. I'm trading draft picks only if possible since we have the cap space and already should be letting Harris, Okeke, Fultz, and possibly Ingles go.
Interesting. So just out of my own curiosity is that the line for you? Like I totally get trying to not trade both those dudes. But if it fame down to… they will accept the trade but they don’t want a third 1st they want both the wings. You saying no? Just curious!
@@_AVC_ I wonder if this means he'll be out of the league. I watched the last video that he released with the Magic about preparing for the playoffs. To me his gait resembled that of someone who eventually will have a hip replacement; Zion has same issue and both of them are so prone to injury. (To compare to someone well balanced, see Kyrie.) Nonetheless it's kinda sad because Markelle's drives are so beautiful to watch. I'd like to start a movement to revalue 3s as 2.5s because it's ludicrous to price a 3 as 50% more than an incredible Markelle or Kuminga 2.
@@doobeedoo2 No someone will still want him. You’re right he has game. He’s strong, athletic, has good court sense, plays D, finishes strong. It just doesn’t make sense to have him in Orlando.

@@_AVC_ Right, we'll see if he can keep the percentages up when he increases attempts. That'll be key. However, I actually am interested in leaning into him as a starting point guard next year. Feel free to come on and chat hoops anytime. discord.gg/s5ZNg3XmuA As far as Claxton goes I worry about that fit. This was done nicely. I don't think the Magic trade either Jett nor Caleb. I believe we will be hoping that they can be part of the shooting solution. I think Kennard and Monk will cure a lot of our problems and we haven't given up anything.

You’re correct he is a pretty poor defender. I look past it (and obviously hope he improves) because he instantly becomes their best offensive player. His shot creation is something they need more than anything else right now, and you can game plan around a single poor defender. If you don’t have a guy that can create easy looks you can stall out later in the season. I like Tyus a lot, I just don’t think he fits this squad. He’s a tough player for sure though!
A shot sure. I don’t see him as a fit in the league because of his defense but offensively he has game. That’s the thing is like there are so many bucket getters out there. Gotta have more than that though to make it in the league and I just don’t think there is much else there.
@@hector4470 I guess I can understand that. I personally see two way spots as a developmental spot, but since he is a teetering NBA talent I see the reasoning.

@@harryo82 Yeah his percentage was good, it wasn’t on a great amount of attempts. Not bad but not great. I personally don’t care about the Tyus Nic Claxton pick and roll either. That combo isn’t winning you anything, so that idea is a rare instance in game. Plus you have no spacing around that then. Need people that can create shots. I worry about Franz’s shooting as well. His career best is average but his form suggests he can be better. I just don’t want you to lock in on the best available players right now just to have them. Gotta build this team the right way.
@@_AVC_ I actually like Tyus more. His assist to turnover ratio this year was very impressive 7.3:1 (which I think is one of the reason ORL lost in game 5 and 7) His TS% is also better than Simons. I think if Magic can sign Tyus and Monk or Hields, it will spread the floor enough for Paolo and Franz and Suggs will hopefully continue to growth. What about Tyler Herro?
Honestly that’s an interesting question. Not the first person I would want to throw on this team but I don’t hate the idea. Wonder what that trade would look like?
Love the Luke Kennard piece. There’s no need to sign Klay for an absurd price.
Yeah I agree. I don’t even think it’s all that realistic to say that’s on the table personally haha. Luke would bring some awesome value 👌🏼.
Also Simons is a Florida guy, so he’d be close to home/family. He would like that a lot I feel
Yeah that’s what people have been saying. That would be a cool story!
He’s actually from
The Orlando area and was named after Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway
@@O.TownMagic even better, it’s destiny
@@O.TownMagic Yeah that’s what I learned from some other comments! That would be such an awesome story!
Not bad, but my moves for them are:
1. Sign Tyus Young
2. Sign a veteran winner like Jeff Green
3. Draft Johnny Furphy
4. Keep Goga Bitadze
5. Extend Jonathan Isaac
Also, they can consider to trade for Collin Sexton or Jordan Clarkson. Those guys can get buckets when they struggle offensively.
@@_AVC_ Yeah, Simons sounds very good. I just find it a little difficult. But I´m very ok with your idea.

Portland is going to want picks and a trade exception from Orlando, so I think it's just a matter of how much draft capital Orlando is willing to part with for Simons.
Yeah I don’t see a world where they get more than 2 1sts. If you throw in some young talent I bet (not likely but I bet lol) you could do it for 1.
@@_AVC_ I don't think they get more than two firsts either, but I could see them asking for two firsts and a second or two

I see you already figured out where to go haha! Glad you like the content! Hmu on discord and I’ll get you all set up!
Simons fits perfectly with Suggs and Anthony Black. Both Suggs and AB are capable defensive players. Both Suggs and AB aren’t as fully offensively capable as Simons, seamless fit perfect compromise.
I sure think so!!
I 100% agree with this. I actually think he becomes option 2 though 👀.
Zach edey instead of kelel ware…we’re the perfect team to take edey. He’s a scoring machine (maybe not from 3) and if the concern is how he switches and moves his feet on defense I think we got that covered. Our size and switch ability plays in his favor.
Great video btw I agree with pretty much everything besides kelel ware. You scared me when you threw Issac in the trade offer lol
@@WaliWrlddd Lol sorry for the scare I had to compare the money 😂. As far as Edey goes I don’t see that fit working out great. As long as Paolo is on the team you’re gonna want to have a center that can take a step out. I’m not sure why someone’s teammates help their lack of ability to switch either.
I do think Edey has a role in the NBA but given the current roster makeup I don’t think it makes sense. But hey if you ask my fiance, I am often wrong 😂. I’m glad you liked the video!!

Simons can absolutely catch fire, we just dont have good personnel to pair with him.
Why do you say that? I think they do. A lot of long defensive players and some dudes to run the floor with him sounds fine to me. Curious to hear your thoughts though!
@AVC_Streams I'm saying we don't have the personnel from the trail blazers perspective. I think he could fit great in Orlando. We just did the tons of small guards thing for 10 years with Dame and Cj so I think the fans are ready to build around Scoot and Sharpe.
@@rjejames28 Oh no dude we gave them exactly the things they need to try. Shooting lengthy young wings. Scoot had no room to operate the whole year, those guys have the potential to do that.
@AVC_Streams lol I just meant the blazers didn't (past tense) have the right roster. I'm down for your trade idea as a blazers fan.
@@rjejames28 Ohhh gotcha gotcha. Sorry maybe I’ve read too many comments 😂. You ate so right about the Blazers. Funny enough when I did their Ideal Offseason their fans were somewhat offended when I made a comment like that. I was like “When have you ever built a comprehensive team around a star ever?” 😂
Utah? Kinda interested to see what they do with the young guys
I was planning on doing the playoff teams only right now (as they got eliminated) but I just did the math and no way I get these done before the draft if I don’t start now. I got the Bulls and Jazz on deck 🫡.
Will you do the Kings?
I’ll do every team!
Dang man killed the rebuild need you in the magic front office or something😂
Lol I appreciate it! I actually run a company where I do stuff like this pretty often. From power 5 D1 to like JUCO/NAIA though. NBA has their own dudes 😅. Probably isn’t a perfect rebuild but I think it would help a lot.
I'd also be surprised if they move Isaac he's the devos families fundie baby boy, lol
Yeah unless someone out of nowhere becomes available that you absolutely need the salary to make work then yeah probably not.
Will Markelle not be resigned at all?
I personally don’t see the point. There was such a lack of shot creation on the team that I think anyone that can’t isn’t worth bringing back.

Missed the grand opportunity to sign Dwight Howard as a third stringer bc he said on his podcast he wants to retire a magic
Ohhhhhh shit you so right. That would’ve actually been a cool thing to do!
Interesting. One thing to point out is that Anthony Black shot 39% from 3 last year. That actually qualifies him as a good shooter.
I guess that’s fair haha. 1.4 attempts per game only but hey he hit em! Obviously things like gravity (ability to keep defenders close to you) is what you really strive for when you get shooters but yes I can’t argue with that point haha!
@@_AVC_ Right, we'll see if he can keep the percentages up when he increases attempts. That'll be key. However, I actually am interested in leaning into him as a starting point guard next year. If we did that, we would sign Nic Claxton at Center, and trade Wendell for someone like Colin Sexton. I think that would be a deep team.

As far as Claxton goes I worry about that fit. I know we want an upgrade at center and he’s the best available, but I want the priority to be making sure Franz/Paolo/Suggs are set up for success. I think you need a capable shooting center as long as you have Paolo/Franz, even just Paolo probably even. Wendell is at least serviceable for the time being and analytics tell us he’s a good pairing with them. Not great but positive nonetheless.
This was done nicely. I don't think the Magic trade either Jett nor Caleb. I believe we will be hoping that they can be part of the shooting solution. I think Kennard and Monk will cure a lot of our problems and we haven't given up anything.
Aye i appreciate it! Yeah I could totally see that! The reason I felt okay moving them was because they play the same position as your two best players (Forward). I figured I’d prioritize shooting at the other positions.
You think there is a chance they get Monk?
Please sign Kennard
@@BrentonBannister-gc2pt He should be available! I don’t see Memphis picking up that option.
@@_AVC_ Jett is mainly a 2 guard tho
@@bmarsjpeg I mean we can call him whatever we want but he doesn’t have a great handle or vision right now so I’m not sure how comfortable I am with him at the guard. If he develops some of those skills sure I’m down for him at 2.
I agree you want defensive minded PG, who can shoot. Keep ball in Paolo's and Franz hands so they develop. What about tyus Jones, not a great defender, not an absolute turnstile either. Simons is a terrible defender.
Nice video brother keep grinding

Well I can’t argue with that logic 😂. Give the man a max!
Is mack maclung not worth a shot?
A shot sure. I don’t see him as a fit in the league because of his defense but offensively he has game.
That’s the thing is like there are so many bucket getters out there. Gotta have more than that though to make it in the league and I just don’t think there is much else there.
On a two way deal I would bring him back but that’s just me.
@@hector4470 I guess I can understand that. I personally see two way spots as a developmental spot, but since he is a teetering NBA talent I see the reasoning.
Jett Howard is our best shooter. Him and Caleb. AB was a swing and a miss.
Jett shot like 27% this year. You can say we hope he’ll be our best shooter lol. Caleb is solid on small volume. AB was really solid for a rookie! He just can’t shoot. Great defensive player already, good passer, got some good counters. I like him.
@@_AVC_ every situation is different. Give him 30 mins a night, a green light or let him get in rhythm and you’ll get a different story. Just like Cam Thomas. You’re going off of 3 mins a night him shooting with 3 seconds on a shot clock.

All Orlando needs is 2-3 more Gary Harrises that can actually SHOOT THE 3.
AND Franz needs to work on his mid range jumpers. We have all the bigs and athleticism that we need right now.
Then add a few veterans and we're going deep in the playoffs next year.
I agree with this so much, especially the Gary Harris comment 😂. Let Franz/Paolo/Suggs continue to grow. Add 3&D dudes at the guard spots. A vet or two, and you got something really cool here. Great stuff!!
Why would we keep Joe ingles lol
Why not? Good shooter, good ball handler still, even better vet. Need guys like that on young teams.
Are we “sold” on WCJ?
I mean no he isn’t great but he isn’t hurting you either. There isn’t really a better option available either so that’s why I suggested drafting a guy like Ware.

I feel like we miss out on shooting then. Kinda need those two spots to have some floor spacing ability. Love those two as players though!
@AVC_Streams Tyus Jones shot 41% from 3 last season. His best season, yes but not too much of an aberration. He shot 37% and 39% the previous two seasons.
Claxton doesn't give floor spacing, but with a real point guard (Tyus Jones) he'll be much more of a cutting and lob threat to go with his rim protection.
I'm also counting on Franz bouncing back as a shooter after last season.
And I fully believe in Jett as a shooter.
His 3pt % has been good for the past 3 seasons. The best thing is that we don't need to give up draft picks for him.
I think if Magic can sign Tyus and Monk or Hields, it will spread the floor enough for Paolo and Franz and Suggs will hopefully continue to growth. Having a PG that dish out 7+ assist per game without turning the ball over will significantly help this young team in the playoff.
@@nhsieh123 Yeah I totally follow your logic there. I’ll still worry about the shot creation on a team like that though. Obviously like you said guys can improve on that stuff, but sometimes you just need a bucket getter. Either way I really wanna see good things for this franchise!
