Arteta is the most media-protected Manager in the history of football. He spent 700m so that his team could finish twice to City, after being on top for the league majority of both seasons, but somehow the pundits think this is a football genius His never been near a UCL or Europa League final. Arsenal have never looked convincing in Europe at all while this guy has been in charge. All he did was win an FA cup against an under-performing Chelsea side and then he won two Community Shields in two friendly matches. Now he saying those Community Shields are " trophies ". He is a bang-average manager who has been given a biased free run by the London media. Even Ten Hag has done better than this guy he actually won two legitimate trophies. Arteta will win nothing again this season, and the next, and the one after that but pundits will still fawn over him and say stuff like they love the way Arsenal play. Arteta needs to go back to what he is good at......putting out cones for Peps training sessions

Are they celebrating Arteta lasting 5 years at Arsenal because nobody else ever lasts that long at a football club these days?

We won the PL Title under Mr. Wenger becoz that team under him was in my view 50% better than the next best team Yoonited ... the PL simply could not stop them winning despite the rest of league kicking our best players most of the game in stead of the ball and the refs simply turning a blind eye and punishing the victim rather than the perpetrator . That team would have still won the games we lost or drawn this season if they had a man sent off deliberately by PGMOL but the current team is not at that level to offset the balance.

That's the problem with English Journalists... Too quick to either over rate or under rate. Wait till the end of the season, then you'll have a more holistic assessment without bias or sentiments.

@tikemyson5627 Mark Ogden wasn't talking about the last 5 years, he was talking about this season mentioning how Chelsea and Liverpool have overtaken Arsenal.

In terms of trophies certainly not, but last 2 years arsenal was def better than it ever was in 2010s. And he did win the fa cup, even if it was 4 years ago. So there has been more good than bad.
But if Arsenal just go back from being title contenders to again just fighting for top 4, I would say he’s a failure.

@himanshurajdev2412 fair enough, we do need trophies or we are no longer a big club

@@gwillz8551 As Liverpool fans, for many years I had envy London based teams, with Emirates stadium and robust Financial, I still see Arsenal as a slightly bigger club than LFC.
