    Loved it so much I made one! On the sleeves I double up the material and hid the hem line on the inside and added it to the sleeve so I got a smooth edge.

    I think I'm going to use your directions for the bat wing shirt part, but I think I'll leave off the cowl neck and put on a scarf instead. Great video!

    Awesome sauce!!! Ive been searching for a DIY tutorial for this exact style..😄😄😄..i I am too excited to get started on this sweater. Question, is there a way that i can use the cowl neck as a hood also and then back to a cowl neck?? If so, would I have to make the cowl part wider??

    • @yeppeogeu2828

      make it higher (example her measurement is 18 you can change it to 30

    Just out of curiosity, why didn't you cut out the sleeves? instead of attaching the extra piece?

    • @MizzMoxie
      @MizzMoxie 7 років тому

      A M yes! I too would love to know this. Was it easier? Does it make it more comfortable? Did you just want a seam to break up the sleeve?

    • @xAnicsi
      @xAnicsi 7 років тому

      You need more fabric if you cut it in one piece, as the arms will stretch out in an inverted L shape and you cannot use the part beneath. That might not have been the reason, though, since the fabric is super cheap. If you're working with expensive fabrics, it's always a thought to consider, though.

    I am wondering, why are you working with a zigzag here? I saw in many other video's that you mainly work with a traight sew, so I'd love to know when you have to use what :)

    • @deliber8cre8tor
      @deliber8cre8tor 10 років тому +2

      Hi Liesbeth.... In the meantime you have probably already found out the answer to your question, but I thought I'd answer it, in case any beginning sewers were wondering the same thing. Coolirpa used a sewing machine (as opposed to a serger) set to the zigzag stitch to sew the sweater material because it has stretch to it and the zz stitch will stretch along with the fabric as you put it on or take it off, push sleeves higher up your arm etc. If only a regular straight stitch had been used, the stitches do not stretch along with the garment and will snap and break during normal use.... Hope that helps !
