    Thanks John, we just bought a 2018 R-Pod 179 and picking it up on Wednesday. We've have a 1984 15 ft .Sunline that we've had for 8 yrs and really enjoyed it but decided it was time to get something with a permanent bed. Passing the old Sunline down to our son. Looking forward to watching your videos on the R-Pod and camping tips and info, Dan

      Dan, congrats on the new R-Pod! Here is a link to a list of all my videos. If you search for "179" a bunch of specific videos will show up to view: johnmarucci.com/video-index-desktop/

    Thanks. When I was sorting through the material when I bought out POD I wondered what that white thing was...now I know it is part of the air conditioner.

      Craig, glad the video was helpful. I also didn't know what they were at first. Not sure why they put them in the owners manual vs in the unit upon delivery. All the best!

    Hello. We love (or loved?) our 179. Your Videos have been very helpful. Thank You. Hopefully we will get our unit back soon. Rpod took it back to the factory last summer for a specific repair. We are waiting for the repair and return.
    I'm seven months in and they haven't started yet.

      Ron, this delay is sad to hear. You may know that last year I had a floor issue that took three months for them to decide to work on it (see Floor Issue videos). The work was done well and quickly once the trailer made it to the factory, so I don't understand the delay here. Right now it will be tough to have them do anything with the Covid-19 issues, but once it lifts, I would be calling and emailing regularly until something begins to move. My experience is that when dealing with the factory, be a squeaky wheel until you are heard and things get moving. All the best.

      @@JohnMarucci Thanks John. I have been and will continue. We really like this camper. It tows very easily. Lots of storage space. We really like the layout. The back kitchen is terrific. But one shortcoming - well a mistake on our part - I'm 75 inches tall - in a 74 inch cross ways bed. So we are considering an R pod RP 196, or perhaps a Coachman Spirit 1943B or even a Bullet 221RBS. Something with a bed length ways.

    Hi John, just bought a 2015 RPod 171...so far so good, learned quite a bit from watching your videos.. I just washed the RV for the first time and noticed a little wetness inside the RV on the bottom of two of the windows. If you have any advice on possibly caulking or anything else any help would be helpful. Thanks and keep making me a better RV owner

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  4 роки тому

      Tony, I would first closely inspect any caulk around the windows and see if you have any cracks or brakes in the caulk. If you have longer ladder, I would also inspect the caulk along the roof raiI to look for similar issues. I would then use some silicone caulk around the window seals if needed and Dicor self-leveling caulk along the roof rail if needed. You do need to be careful not to block the weep holes (for water drainage) in the window frames. Once you set the caulk and leave it to set according to the direction on the caulk tube, I would then test using a garden hose to see if you still have issues (fake rain test). If this doesn't settle it, the next step may be a local RV dealer to try and fix it. All the best!

    Hello John,just wanted to ask do you light the pilot light to water heater before you hit the road or do you light it at campground?Also I like your method and format determining which campgrounds are desirable.Please continue with more campground reviews.Will you be traveling later this year after conditions improve for trips?My father is from Jackson,MI,where do you reside?Take care

    • @JohnMarucci

      John, the water heater has an electrical ignition so I don't light the pilot at all. I usually run the electric on the water heater when I arrive at the campground. Sometimes I will use propane when I want the water to heat more quickly. Thanks for the feedback on the campground reviews. We try to give the information we would want to make an informed decision. I do plan to camp with the R-Pod in June if Michigan State parks reopen by then. We are in West Michigan just outside Kalamazoo, so 90 minutes west of Jackson on I-94. Thanks for the comment!

    Do you happen to know what might cause the compressor to go bad ? I have a 2018 RPod 179 and the AC compressor went bad. New unit is being installed today. I have made sure that I was plugged into at least 30 amps every time. If this was something I can avoid happening again, I would sure appreciate you letting me know. Love your videos!!!

      Diane, sometimes electric failures can be caused by spikes or brown-outs from the power source. This will usually affect more than just an A/C compressor. If you don't use some sort of surge protector, I would advise it. The Progressive Industry units seem to be the standard and you can find a couple options on my Amazon page (link in the comments of any video). If you already are using a surge protector when plugged in, likely you just had some sort of random failure. Hope this helps.

    I own a 2016 R pod 180 and have been told it's time to reseal roof, windows, doors. Can you recommend a product and tell me how to do this thing or should I go to an RV service shop?

    • @JohnMarucci
      @JohnMarucci  3 роки тому

      Have you had the seals professionally inspected? There a lot of factors to consider before totally resealing the roof. I would have a reputable RV service technician inspect it and let you know exactly what is needed. Thanks!
