So glad someone else finally mentioned the lack of wing tips. I couldn't get the pros to stay comfortably and reliably in my ears no matter what I tired. Real shame having to return them because the mic, ANC, and overall audio quality was a real step up. I was okay with sacrificing the battery life but the comfort was a deal breaker

Great video, just wanted to chime in with my experience: I used the Buds Plus for about a year before upgrading to the Pros. The sound quality and call quality are pretty similar, with the main noticeable difference being the addition of ANC. Having a non-glossy case with a smaller form factor was a huge win for me as well. However, the deal breaker for me is with the fit. Try as I might, I just cannot get the Pros to stay in my ears for longer than a few minutes before having to push them back in. Eating or working out with these on is practically impossible. I've tried every possible size eartip, but for my ears it just comes down to the shape of the buds themselves. I ended up "downgrading" back to the Plus because those wingtips just work so well for keeping the buds put. I love what Samsung did in every other way, but I'd love to see the wingtips come back on the next model.

I had the same issue of them falling out easily.. Samsung's website actually has a tips section for fitting them and it turns out I've been inserting them wrong all this time.. The correct way makes a difference.. The key is to have the L and R at the top of bud when inserting.. Mind u I just discovered this today so the test of time will see if it's a difference long term.. Thus far though it has made a huge difference.

I've had my Galaxy Buds + for a couple years now, and I feel no urge to upgrade. These things have served me amazingly well. I actually really do love the 12 hour battery life. While walking through the city, I tend to just leave them in my ears, whether I have music playing or not, and that burns a little battery, so it is totally worth it for me. When working from home they both can get me through my entire and then some work day while not having to charge the case as much as I did the plus. The pro slips out of my ear more but I like how they feel in my ear better. I live out in the country right now so I rarely have a need to use the active noise canceling but could see someone using it in the city seeing as even loud outside noises become extremely muted. Everything else is basically the same to me. If I'm picking one over the other however I'd still pick the Plus. Although the extra features of the pro are cool I don't find myself needing them often the way I live and I can't find a reason to justify the cost (then again I got it basically free with the promo credit when I pre-ordered the s21 ultra). Hope this helps and I say once again I'm not someone that has a good eye for details so it could be a different experience for others.

Thought I'd share my previous review! I bought the Galaxy Buds Plus over a year ago and absolutely loved them. Unfortunately I lost one of my buds recently and the "Find my Buds" feature on the Wear app could not locate it as if was Disconnected. So I decided to upgrade and buy the Buds Pro and got them a few days ago as they were on sale. Right off the bat the first thing I noticed was how they fit in my ear. They didn't feel as secure as the Plus model and like this review stated, I felt the same way. So I jammed on some tunes and rocked out, bopping my head like a wacked out rocker lol trying to dislodge them and they stayed in place! Second thing I noticed was how much better they sounded vs the Plus. Definitely better lows and mids, and crispier high frequencies. I am experimenting with the EQ and noise cancellation features, as well as different size tips, but so far I am impressed. Just have to get use to how they feel. Currently trying to figure out how to tap the Buds to manipulate volume, and switch from Ambient to Noise cancellation. All in all I think it was worth the price jump. But I do want to add one negative thing though. Later in the day I was out doing yardwork in the sun here in sunny California and I was sweating. I was racking leaves and the sweat was starting to get into my ears, and then it happened! One of the earbuds popped out! So, I would go as far to say that you shouldn't do aggressive things when wearing the buds that induces sweat, like mountain biking, or I would even be concerned by jogging. The sweat in the ears will loosen the grip, but then again, larger tips might help, but still, look how much they cost. Good luck!

In terms of comfort, you should compare the earbuds to the earbuds you find comfortable. Because the comfort is highly subjective. That is the closest thing we can get to "trying the earbuds".
For example: You find Galaxy Buds Plus comfortable, you also find X and Y and Z earbuds comfortable. There is a possibility that someone tried the X or Y earbuds and they can have a better picture if someone else found them comfortable, they might find the Galaxy Buds Plus comfortable as well. Because you and that someone might have similar ears and tolerance to those earbuds, based on the X, Y and Z earbuds.

Being a galaxy buds + owner since the launch of the s20, I did the pre-order special to get the buds + free, they've sent out TONS of updates for these things. Including easy switching between devices. When I park my car and have my buds in, my music fluidly transfers from the BT in my car to my buds without me having to do anything and vice versa when I get back in my car. I was also on the fence between Plus and Pro, but ultimately bought Pro because of several things:
    - Samsung doesn't know how to stock products that're more than a month old, and Pro was the only buds I could physically try before buying. I found some reddit users saying Plus fits horribly for them while Pro is perfect, and vice versa. While I could still improve fitment with custom eartips, I'm hesitant about sinking money into Plus that I've never physically tried. Your ear shapes are almost as unique as your fingerprint after all, just ask HK protesters.
    - Our IEM lord and saviour Crinacle says he prefers the sound of the Pro because he finds the Plus fatiguing in long sessions. Tbh he even remarked that non-audiophiles would probably not notice the difference anyway, but while this point isn't a deal maker, it certainly weighs my decision towards Pro.
-My tipping point is the IPX7 because I live in a very wet country that most of my phones had died to moisture buildup. Might as well spend a little extra for a few extra years of use.
To whoever's agonizing over which to buy, I hope this helps.

I have the original Samsung Gear IconX and I need to upgrade due to the buds no longer working after 3 years of daily use. Probably gonna go with the Galaxy Plus as it's basically the same buds with upgrades. My only real complaint is the removal of the MP3 feature. The original Gear IconX also functioned as standalone mp3 players with 4GB of storage. They essentially allowed you to transfer songs directly onto the buds themselves so you didn't need to have the buds connected to a phone or any device to listen to music which also helped extend the battery life of the buds. Sadly this feature was removed after the Gear IconX. Hopefully they bring it back in the future as it was a amazing feature to have.

Why do you think Apple doesn’t let their AirPods cross platforms? Because they know that they won’t sound good with anything but Apple products. Had the Icon X and galaxy buds prior, still do. Got the buds + a month ago and the Buds Pro a week ago... in my opinion both are great, cant go wrong with either. Buds + Battery life is so long (11hrs) I just leave them out the case and in my pocket all day at work and when I need to I just pop them in and out my ear and keep the ambient sound on. These are also my go to ear buds if I want to sleep with them in. The only ear buds I ever fell asleep in and woke up with them both still in my ears, thanks to the wing tips which make for a super secure fit. After that how ever the buds Pro take the lime light but ONLY IF THEY FIT YOU. I'm lucky they fit my ears perfectly with the original ear tips but they do not fit my wife, like most earbuds however. Anyways the fit is not as secure as the buds plus, no wing tips ofcourse, and I do find my self adjusting them often when working out, but I notice they are a lot more comfortable to keep in my ears for long periods of time than the buds plus ( Think it's the ear vents). The music quality is also much better and louder on the Pros in my opinion. Ambient sound is louder on the buds plus but sounds more natural on the pros. Voice detection on the Pros has also proving to be very useful. Also they just rolled out an update that allows you to use ANC with only 1 earbud in like you can do with Ambient sound, prior you had to have both in. FYI you must turn on this feature threw settings. I like both these ear buds but the Pros are my daily use for the ANC, VOICE DETECT, COMFORT, and most of all SOUND QUALITY.

Plus I can save the hold touchpad control for ambient sound & Google Assistant. I don't understand why Samsung dropped the feature since the Beans because it's truly game changing feature for me.

Removing the wingtips and putting on just the silicon rings helped a ton with comfort on the Buds+ for me but they still really hurt my ears after an hour or more. Are the Pro's significantly more comfortable? I also have the Buds Live which are fantastic but I can't get a good lock with them and they tend to slip when out running and sweaty

Thanks for this video. Solid comparison. I love my bud+ the battery life is insane. I wear comply foam tips so I never need the wing tips. I would like to buy the pros but the fit issue puts me off and comply don't do foam tips for them.
    Update
I ended up buying the buds pro and I haven't gone back to the plus. The jump in sound quality is that good. As feared I had fit issues with the pros for my right ear but Comply foam tips saved the day.

Definitely glad I watched this. Didn't even think to look for the Buds Pro app on iOS.
I have used the Plus before and switched to the LIve. - Which, imo, was a better product. (To each their own)
There was a slight drop in battery life but it was worth the switch especially since the Live fit much better.
I was about to swap out my Lives for the Pros to see if it was worth it. But since they don't even have app for iOS, which is about a month after this video was posted, then there is no point - at least for now.
(I do have a reliable android phone that I use for a backup in case something happens to my iPhone - so i could probably test out the Pro's on that but that means I'd have to carry around two phones or swap the sim card which I don't want to do)
In either case, definitely appreciate the review. Nicely detailed.
(Still miss JimsReviewRoom though - but that's just a preference)

I'm surprised how similar the mics on the Pros and Pluses sounded. I figured the extra mics on the Pros would have helped distinguish the voice better, but I guess not really in practice.

Is it worth upgrading from the regular galaxy buds? The thing that is most important for me is sound quality, especially base. The ANC also sounds amazing, but is it a noticable difference?

I have galaxy buds on xiaomi redmi note 8 pro, and when i bought buds+, it was absolutely not a good buy, because the sound was just slightly better and gaming mode wasn't working, due missing chip that is only in samsung. I have the Buds+ and I wear them all day and they last all day on a full charge. I work with my hands and I don't wear a watch so I have my phone give me time updates at regular intervals and read my notifications while I'm working. I prefer to have minimal passive noise cancelling so that I can still be aware of my surroundings and have conversations with them in. Also if the seal of the inner tip is too air tight, it hurts the ear drums. So I go with the smallest inner tips to allow air flow and ambient sound and medium wing tips to hold them in place with comfort. Having seen various reviews of the Buds2 Pro, I don't think I will be upgrading and will keep using the Buds+ until they run into the ground.

I bought the Buds Pro after as a upgraded replacement.

Just re-bought the Buds + on Ebay.
The pros sound good but they fall out easy, battery life is very disappointing and they are just uncomfortable. I missed my Buds +.
