PharmD is a 4 year program. 3 if accelerated. Most PharmD applicants have 3 years of undergrad or a bachelors before applying. Also, all of my retail friends are near $180k after bonuses. Edited to say: PharmD is a terrible degree and most of us are drowning in student loan debt/can't leave the field.
Great clarification on that! Also great to hear that bonuses are back in retail!! I could go on for days about the money grab that is the Pharm D created in the 90s. I mean a whole ass DOCTORATE label and we still don't give our Pharmacist prescribing power?! ugh.
On the note about leaving, I think the low hanging fruit to transitioning to industry (MSL?) is via a pharma sales role. But also understand that may not be for everyone and will most definitely be a step back in pay and the risk it may not work out.
My goal is to be a pharmacist but I’m thinking of going out of the US for school because of the cost difference in some other countries. I’m not sure what to do but this comment is helpful, thank you for sharing!
Don't know you but most pharmacist i know are able to own their own chain pharmacy like shoppers drug mart in like 5 years. They start off in a drug company making like 150k or in pharmacy like 100k and then they save up and open their own pharmacy down the road.

Im a self employed contractor making over 100K. Many others in the trades are as well. Self employed window washer and gutter cleaner making over100K, self employed landscaper making over 100K, self employed house cleaner making over 100K.

Great info in the Enterprise AE segment. I work in software sales and am roughly 6 months out from a promotion from SDR to Mid-Market AE. At what point in this career path is the best time to job hop? Im at a medium sized company of roughly 1300 employees - do I try to jump to a MM AE role at one of the software giants immediately after my promotion?
If you just made the jump to MM AE I would stick around till you have some good numbers to show before your try making a jump to a bigger player. But also be aware that the longer you spend with smaller companies, the harder it will be to make the transition to one of the big guys
Im a Pharmaciat. I had a degree in nuclear medicine befire applying and pharmacy school was 4 years. Im currently in retail and last year I made around 150k base with a srock bonus of about 14k. Not a physicians salary but thats only working 40 hours. I dont know any physician that only works 40 hours. I had a cardiologist tell me once that I would peobably make more than him. I was like.....whar!!! ....no way! He said he made around 300k but works at least 80 hours a week. In order to have hospital privileges they have to work at the hospital and/ or be on call. Without them they wouldnt be able to see their patients in hospital. You also have to take into consideration that they have high malpractice insurance. As a pharmacist I could make over 300k a year by working 80 hours too. Doctors dont have a 9 to 5 making 300k....I promise you that. Work life balance is way better as a pharmacist.
Cool. I'm sure that all of the low 6 digit salaries have provided you with ample opportunity to get into the investment world. I am certain that you should have at least a 6 figure account at some brokerage by now, right? Maybe 7 figure, 8 figure? I realize that your choices about where you live and what types of health insurance you want to select, and all of that. Hey, that's an idea. Could you go through the calculations that a self-employed person makes when selecting health insurance for your area of the country? Financial Independance Retire Early. But I guess with your current situation, you are enjoying life at your desired pace, and doing what you wish. Congratulations.
