Okay so i'm a 30 year old who listens to everything BESIDES classical. I love my death metal, acoustic folk, electronic music and everything in between. Recently i took an interest in producing movie trailer music and my research has led me to modern composers and the methods they use, which led me here to Bartok. And wow. i am absolutely blown away. The music balance, dense layers of interwoven instrumentation, seeming lack of tonal center(you mean the song isn't written in a single key???), the build up of tension and tactical release. It took me this long to grow an appreciation for this. Glad i'm here.
Beautifully played! Bravo to Maestro Eschenbach and the musicians of the SWR Symphonieorchester! Kudos to everyone and especially to the principal trumpet playing on the Bb trumpet!
00:00 I. Introduzione. Andante non troppo - Allegro vivace 10:06 II. Gioco delle coppie. Allegro scherzando 16:57 III. Elegia. Andante non troppo 24:20 IV. Intermezzo interrotto. Allegretto 29:00 V. Finale. Pesante - Presto
This very late work by Béla Bartok manifests the richness in nuance of his varied ethnical background, masterfully reflected in the exceptional interpretation by the SWR Symphony Orchestra under Christopher Eschenbach.
Versión a recordar.
A music that makes me cry. Me: that is an old German musician... Bartoks Concerto is one of the most personnel ways to say: the world is a beautyful one, but it will not last for long times. Mankind is not the all times lasting spezies. We have to leave this planet for forfulling it's development. This interpretation by Eschenbach with the fabulous SWR-Orchestra certainly i not the best one in the world, but I like it because of some impulsive moments, that are not planned like this. Any orchestra playing this virtuous orchestra piece has special difficulties, even the best!

One of the best performance of this magnificent masterpiece out there!! 💐👍🙏🏻
Die sensibelste und beste Interpretation.

Thank you so much!
This is one of the best performances of this piece I've ever heard.
Excellent. Eschenbach is the best conductor active today.
I have played under Eschenbach. He is intense and musical. And bravamissimo to this amazing brass section.

Muchas gracias a SWR por mantener tan buenísima orquesta.

Bartok Bèla magyar volt nem etnikai motivumok..
Fine orchestra. Rather dull interpretation by the conductor.
