Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja appeared in a UK parliamentary committee meeting on the 16th March 2021 that was simultaneously live broadcast.
The topic of the meeting was to discuss how bands and the live music industry can improve their overall carbon emissions.
The meeting was conducted by the Labour MP Kevin Brennan and was also attended by Carly Mclachlan of the Tyndall Climate Research Centre, whom Massive Attack had partnered with previously to fund research into how the live music industry can contribute to reducing climate change.

I feel the carbon emissions from bands traveling and festivals is low in comparison to cruise ships, the burning of crude oil, tourist using planes around the world, factories producing products etc... it’s very noble but this is a small speck causing emissions.

On my version of the you tube app if you press the cc in the top right it turns the subtitles on
(Na minha versão do aplicativo do you tube se você pressionar o cc no canto superior direito ele liga as legendas)

So how much carbon would be produced by festival goers if they didn't attend a festival, and instead went about their normal activities? That would have to be weighed against the carbon produced throughout their attendance experience.

Robert is an artist too. All of the Massive Attack artwork is his. All of the art that is visible here can also be seen on his instagram account. I’d rather own a piece of Robert’s art than Banksy’s (with the exception of Balloon Girl & Flower Throwing Man (title?). Whether he’s Banksy or not makes no difference to me as I can’t afford either...🌻🧡X

@@ellalicor8510 haha true. It was the thing the D&B guy Goldie said on a podcast a few years ago which a lot of people are going by I believe. Obviously this doesn’t prove anything conclusively. As you say it doesn’t really matter, it’s up to Banksy whether he wants the world to know. 🍻
