Another commenter suggested getting a puppy & young donkey together at the same time so they could grow up together & be best friends. Though I don't see a motorbike fitting in this mix.
You must buy the dog and donkey together as babies and let them grow up together as donkeys are very social and need buddies as much as dogs. With those two your wildlife invader issues would soon end with a little training.
Sounds lovely, but if you then take the dog into the house at night the donkey will be braying for its friend all night and you won't get a wink of sleep. Better get two donkeys. Twice the fun, and not that much more work.
Philipp, your filmmaking is just so much better than other vlogs. The scripting, editing, the way you frame each shot and capture the girls, really beautiful. If you’re taking votes from your viewers, I vote 1️⃣for the dog, 2️⃣donkey, then 3️⃣motorcycle.
Yes, I know Philipp doesn't mind being the silly one while the rest of the family makes fun of him, but I know that it is his editing, storytelling, and filmmaking that is creating such a wonderful vlog. The mild drama and humor completely adds to it.
Beautiful day, beautiful gardens and extra beautiful daughters. Phillip, have a master plan as he suggested but just start, you would be amazed how quickly the time goes by. Your film skills matched the spirit of the gardens.
My wife and I love watching your videos. I don’t know if anyone has mentioned it, but I have to say your music is always in excellent taste and adds to the pleasure of your videos. I have to mention this because there are so many vlogs in which the music is so irritating and such a distraction it ruins what otherwise would be an interesting and entertaining effort. Thank you.
I have just bought that hydrangea, it is called Vanilla Fraise and it is a paniculata hydrangea. It has done so well in its first year, it quite likes the sun. It grows on new growth, unlike a macrophylla hydrangea, so you can cut it back quite a bit.
An astoundingly beautiful countryside , and the garden is simply a dream. If I had life over again I think I would give serious thought to living in France .
What an amazing garden developed thru sheer hard work and a grand plan..a perfect place for inspiration..but also knowing what your expertise is..renovating chateaux to become also amazingly beautiful….combining both is like taking a slice of inspiration from those who gone before …spending a perfect day with your girls and their grandparents…happy days to all..🌲🌿🌞🌿🌲
Thank you for sharing your family outing! The garden you visited is beautiful! And it is relevant to you and your chateau, as you and it share the same soil and climate. Of course, you must bear in mind that it takes time for a garden to develop! The owner gave you the secret: a master plan. Your girls steal all the scenes they are in!!! As a grandfather myself, I cannot get enough of them. A lovely day, and I very much appreciated having the chance to share, however vicariously, in the pleasure of seeing the verdant countryside and the seashore. Be well, and please keep the charming videos coming!
Thank you, Philip and Anna, for your vlogs! Of all the chateau series I began subscribing to during Covid, yours is hands-down my favorite. As an avid gardener in Marietta, Georgia USA, this one, in particular, was so refreshing and inspirational that I immediately made notes of what to plant next season. We share all the same plants as you do! Isn’t that great? Thank you again!!
My grandfather used to race horse and sulky like the one you met on the way to the garden. I remember seeing his silks he wore, the sulky and his trophy’s in the attic of the barn when I was little. The gardens were beautiful, thanks for taking us along. A donkey would keep the deer away from the trees and protect the property. Lol 🙋🏼
I'm binging your channel from the beginning, so that's why comments on old vlogs. If you get a donkey, you'll have to get two because a single lonely and depressed. This must be one of the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen and most certainly made even more enchanting by the giggles and laughter of those two spirited "fairies" running around . Lovely to see you reunited with your parents. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work.
What a special treat. Thank you so much for taking us on this gorgeous garden tour. Please plant some of those breathtaking pink & white hydrangeas. They are stunning. Love Anna’s parents-so sweet. Enjoy the remainder of their visit. I can’t wait to see Phillip’ master plan. I’m sure it will be awesome. Have a wonderful week and thanks again!
This now has me longing for spring ❤ And I do hope that without the stress of preparing for guests you’ll have more time to spend on the chateau grounds this spring and summer. It will be lovely to see how you continue to develop them!
What a beautiful day as a family. The garden was fabulous, the hydrangea was unbelievable, simply gorgeous. Loved the beach scene, nothing more beautiful than hearing children’s laughter. ❤️❤️❤️
I love Mom's response to Philip. No words, incredulous laugh, readable thought, "You've got to be kidding!?!" Such a beautiful garden and yes, Philip must have his donkey, LOL, but only if you get the girls a rideable chicken. 😁
It is my favourite garden in Normandy; we visit it very often. An exquisite place, with so many transported and rebuilt classic Norman buildings, with so many original contents. . A work of amazing talent. And two grumpy donkeys to greet you!
On your drive there, it almost reminded me of a drive through northern Michigan-until, of course, you reached that beautiful town. I can’t get over how much Anna looks like her Dad and Jenny has a great laugh! That garden was amazing, hydrangeas are my favorite. Thank you for sharing your lovely lifestyle with us!❤️❤️
Beautiful gardens. It is a lot of garden for only 2 people to be tending too. Incredible people. That Hydrangea bush is breathtaking. I have never saw one that was this huge and full.. And Anna saying, "There is no Donkey Phillip." hahahaha.

What a gorgeous garden, the children are having such fun! Not to forget the adults too! Here in the South we have lots and lots of hydrangeas especially the older homes and depending on the soil the colors can change from blue to purple

Oh that garden is to die for! Absolutely stunning isn't it? Great to see you all out and about. I love Lily's telling her father what he can and can't have! She's very precise with her thoughts isn't she? Growing up fast. Lovely beach, the sort I could spend all day wandering along. Much love and big hugs xx
Phillip needs a donkey! The garden was beautiful and I can see how you’d be totally inspired. Having your parents and girls along was a nice treat for us, viewers. I did not realize your home is so close the the sea. How great is that!
The dream of a beautiful garden can be achieved in a few years and as the owner of the gardens said...it needs a master plan. You can do it Phillip!! The plants that are there are pretty hardy and it is all in how you arrange them. It would be good to have flowers blooming in each season, which again, is very possible. I used to have a large perennial garden with many of the same plants....it will be fun and well worth the effort. I am excited for the both of you. Thank you for taking us along with you today, it was beautiful!!! Thank you!! You have a beautiful family and really enjoyed seeing your daughter's enjoying the maze and the flowers. Phillip as an avid gardener here in the states, I'm really looking forward to seeing your garden grow. For late color and the most beautiful blooms look into planting Dahlia's, they're gorgeous. If you visit Anna's parents, I'm thinking they must have a beautiful garden, her dad seems too know his plants, I'd love to see theirs. Geez, even the French jellyfish are pretty.

What a lovely video. Anna your parents are wonderful & your girls so sweet. Lily has quite the sense of humour, just love her personality. The look on Anna's mom's face when Philipp said there was a sign not to ring the bell. Lots of inspiration in that beautiful garden. For fifteen years we had a longère in Normandy near Dieppe and from it we used to visit Le Jardin des Moutiers at Varengeville.. It was designed by the famous English garden designer Gertrude Jekyll. The house was designed by Lutyens. Very similar in style to Le Jardin du Pays d’Auge. I can very well see you transforming yours in the years to come. Lovely episode including the beach scenes - brought back many happy memories!

Those hydrangeas grow quickly! Mine are in their second year and are nearly competing in height with my flowering crab! They are independent when they are established. Just trim off a third each fall where flowers have bloomed. Each year the stalks will grow thicker with more blossoms and bigger blossoms. 😊💗🌸🇨🇦
One great thing about the paniculata hydrangea vanilla fraise ( most hydrangeas really) is that they start so easily from cuttings. My neighbour has one, I asked for cuttings, and now I have three. They are gorgeous and can be left to clump or, with early pruning, you can create a one trunk plant for a more tree-like shape.
Two of my favourite things, gardens and beaches! Lots of inspiration for your chateau gardens. Thank you for taking us on such a lovely family outing🙏🏻❤️
Very inspiring garden. Hydrangeas like that add so much color with very little work. I also have the Black eyed susan flowers, Echinacea, and phlox, hardy, and bloom all summer. Fun to see such a lovely outing with the family, and the beach so close!
Poor Phillip....never did show us his new microphone, nor can he have a donkey! Well, that was a lovely video once again and great music. I loved the opening interview with Lily and Anna, your parents are lovely!
Dry comedy AND chateaux AND gardens? Yes please!
Who would of thought such HIGH quality content and film making would be on youtube. We are so lucky to have such wonderful videos from this channel.
Philip, if you get a donkey you must get two. They do not thrive as solitary pets.
Totally agree.
also great at pulling wee carts for kids to have fun with,
It is the same with Motorbikes. I believe a Ducati and a KTM would get on well.
