I grew up with the Fractured Fairy Tales, Aesop and Son, and indeed all of the R&B Hour shows, and these shorts are so much better than much of what's produced today. I cracked up every time the Tortoise said "wal...nuts" - classic!

Aaahh.... I feel so young again! This one doesn't have my favorite narrator, though. Edward Everett Horton, long time actor, one of my favorites. Not his best role, but he might be best remembered as playing Roaring Chicken on 'F Troop' or Chief Screaming Chicken on a 'Batman' episode. No matter whose voice is where on the old Rocky shows, they were all great!

Thanks to John solo I know how this story ends. A fire breaks out in the forest and all of the animals think that the tortoise is the fastest creature because it crossed the finish line first so they send the tortoise out to warn the entire Forest of the fire 🔥 and everybody dies
I'm 73 and loved Fractured Fairy Tales...AND Mr Peabody's Improbable History....
@cbroz7492, ditto.
Always loved these segments from Rocky & Bullwinkle! Thank you - and KEEP ‘EM COMING! 👍

Aesop was voiced by another great character actor from the 1930s through the 60s, Charles Ruggles.

Moral of the story: The store uses a stupid contest to hire the wrong employee. Goes out of business.
Feeling a little owly to day, eh?
Order shows up a year later. Tortoise should have taken a bus...
The title of this video is wrong. It is called *Aesop and Son* and not "Fractured Fairy Tales".

Yep, the Fractured Fairy Tales were narrated by the distinct voice of Edward Everett Horton, and there was a little fairy in the opening and closing.

I wonder why the hare didn't just go to the store himself. Would have saved him a lot of time.
Just a lazy ass
Who is the voice of Mr. Hare? It is a very familiar voice, sounds almost like Don Adams, but not quite.
I agree
"Ninja kick the damn rabbit!"

I find it interesting that the hare eats a fish in the beginning.
Maybe I can make my son watch this episode and tell him, "See how respectful Aesop's son is when Aesop goes off on a tangent?"
Saw this from the 90s TMNT movie
I wouldn't even remember an order from 1 year ago.
That’s when cartoons were cartoons! (That’s not the fractured fairy tales. It’s aesop and son! But it’s ok!)
