Swingin. Nice movement in and out of the changes. And you don't make the mistake of so many young musicians.........thinking speed and fitting in as many notes as possible makes a great solo. Speed is fine. But this is a tasty solo that swings and is well within the harmonics of the progresson. I'll take that any day over a frantic note salad.
First if this was uploaded two years ago, then I must be a really BAD STUDENT. I've been taking jazz guitar lessons for at lease 6 years and I STILL don't play as well as you. maybe because of my age 68 and having a hard time finding time to really work on my studies. do you read and play be ear? also, what approach do you use when taking on a tune like this one? P.S. there really is hope of keeping this art alive and not watered down. I really enjoy your playing.
Transcribing and listening to lots of jazz is helpful for me. Not everything that I improvise is made up entirely on the spot. I have lots of ideas or "lines" that I play frequently. Every time I improvise a solo, I connect these lines in different ways to come up with different results. I hope that answer is helpful!
Great playing! Keep it up brother!
Great tone, and clean execution. You swing, young man!

I guess I'm not the first person to say this, but forget Harry Potter. This guy is the real magician. Nice notes, Jackson. Lovely melodic playing.

you're amazing! how do you go about practicing your improvisation and being able to create new ideas on the spot?
