I like how you sleyed the reed with it horizontal. I've never seen it done that way. I like how the method you used gets you up very close to the threads so it's easier to see. I always have a problem with the lashing. I have to keep going back and redoing it because mine won't stay tightened and I get blisters from pulling on the lash cord.

You can sley the reed a bit faster, if you put the threads between the fingers of your left hand, and then turn it palm down and pull them through. Cheers from Denmark

If I put the threads in the other hand, upside down, I think I would just confuse myself more than I already am. Men Mange Tak, for the suggestion.

Just love your videos! I have a Toika Eeva 59 inch countermarch loom and getting underneath it to access the treadles is so uncomfortable for more that 15 seconds. I actually bruised a rib, trying to get good access, before I decided that there has to be something I can do. Becky Ashenden recommends lifting up the front of the loom so that you can get more comfortable access to the treadles. I lifted up my loom about 14 inches and that made accessing the treadles a breeze. I am not sure if lifting the front of the loom will give your more access on your loom, but this helped me so much that I thought I should offer the suggestion.

Good for you, trying out new things! Enjoyed the video about tying on to the old warp, and now a new camera angle. Looking forward to seeing overshot weaving, but not at the expense of your comfort. That chair looks like it might bite you in the butt.

I think you were looking for a "netting shuttle". It's really just a way to manage the length of the lashing cord. I'd have to think that a small stick shuttle could fill the bill as well.

I'm sure you are right about the netting shuttle or the small stick shuttle, but I'm quite content just using my fingers to do the lashing.

Going to be beautiful ! The “Green Book” is my favorite ! Admire your gamp on your wall.

Thanks again for sharing your process, it will be fun to see this pattern emerging! Your color gamp in the background really stands out in a dramatic way today.....I tried to go back and see if you did a video on that one, but couldn't find one. Would love to hear you talking about it sometime....forgive me if you've already done it (and if so...please direct me to that episode).

I have a quick question .... with looking at the weft pattern in the green book for Wandering Vine there are numbers beside the pattern you are to throw. For example it has a 6 beside each shuttle throw does that mean 6,1,6,2,6,1,6,2,6,1,6,2 etc then move on to the next treddling?

That's a lot of work. Good job. How long is your warp? I have been using quite a lot of the lunatic fringe 5/2 mercerized threads, and just recently warped with 8/2 un-merc, and yikes what a difference. Much more challenging. Thanks for all you share.

Lunatic fringe mercerized looks and feels great, but has almost no absorbency, so is useless for towels. I plan to give these as towels to a friend, ergo, using un-mercerized cotton.
