I have heard of sunflower September, but I’m intrigued by Sampler September, I have stitched a couple of small samplers so maybe this could be a chance to start one that has been on my list for a while……..you are an enabler Barbara….. maybe just maybe I will check out a Blackbird piece with the alphabet and an apple.
Oh Autumn / fall is well and truly on its way, the temp had dropped massively in the last week and the evenings are getting darker earlier, the stores are filled with pumpkin and spice, I have never stitched a blackbird design but it is on my basket list….one day…
Fall is my absolute favourite season and Halloween is my favourite holiday , I adore the colours of fall , I think I have a pumpkin or maybe half a dozen in every room in my home, I like to feed the blackbird that comes to visit along with the the tits and robins, .

Hi Barbara, My goodness you must never sleep, how do you get so much accomplished, I’m a very slow stitcher, I am just about to start Prairie schoolar Autumn leaves, I’ll not say which Autumn it will be finish for but it definitely won’t be this one, it has a pumpkin and a blackbird on it.
That is the thing with all my WIPs. I had to learn it is not a race but the enjoyment of the process. Stitch what you love, when you can and enjoy it. 🤗💕🤗. I think we put too much pressure on ourselves. Thank you so much for watching. 🤗💕🤗
I wouldn't think samplers have to have alphabets to be a sampler. I think that many antique samplers just did have alphabets so the girls could learn the alphabet as well as different needlework types. My opinion is anything that has a variety of elements can be a sampler. I finished "sampler of stitches" from the Drawn Thread. While it did have an alphabet, I saw it as a sampler more because it had probably at least 100 different types of stitches. your pumpkin and blackbird bags are gorgeous
