First time watching you, and I thoroughly enjoyed this visit. All of your stitching is amazing, such great ideas as well. You are energetic, positive and a wonderful stitcher.
What a fabulous video! Congrats on Maria! And the finished pillows were so beautiful... each one more precious than the last! But the strawberries and the needlebook were divine! 🍓And your WIPs... total swoon! I am so inspired... thank you!
Oh, Audrey…you have such a very unique and wonderful sense of humor, and I just love it!! With all your fabulous finishes and stunning stitching (especially on that extremely high count linen!), and the entertaining way you present everything, it is just such a pleasure to watch your videos. Thank you so much for all you do! Happy, happy stitching until next time! ☺️🪡🧵💙 Meline
Meline, you are so kind! I appreciate you stopping by again to watch. I am so happy to be able to share these finishes and projects with other stitchers like you 🥰 Happy stitching and talk to you again soon! 😊
Thank you! I was definitely excited to have so much to share and glad you enjoyed. Maybe I’ll have a couple more strawberries to show next time! Thanks so much for watching 🥰
This is my first time watching a video of yours-and I have to tell you, I loved it!! I enjoyed seeing your strawberry and ribbon embroidery needle book. I will be going to Hobby House in October also, look forward to meeting you!
I look forward to meeting you as well! Sounds like it's going to be a big group so please be sure to come find me! And thank you for your kind comments, I really appreciate it 🥰
Finally got to watch this. So in love with your samplers. Thanks for the shout out! I want to start Maria so bad. Yours is beyond gorgeous. Hope to see you at sampler symposium or maybe jingle ball. Take care.
Everything about this was wonderful, Audrey. Love, love, love your little strawberries and the gorgeous needle book. Thank you for sharing. Take care, my friend.
It helps I have a lot to choose from thanks to gifts from my mom but I would be eager to try to use stash first anyway. It's a great feeling to use up a skein of this or a spool of that! 😊 Thanks so much for watching! 🥰
TLDR. Donder comes from the poem, not the song. Reindeer name is originally Dunder in the Clement C Moore "A visit from St Nicholas" in 1823 (apparently Dunder and Blixen was a mild form of swearing - equivalent to Gosh and Darn); but was changed (several times) and by the 1860s he'd settled on Donder (Dutch for thunder) pairing with Blitzen (lightning) Donner comes much later - when Rudolf the red nosed Reindeer was written - mid 20th century. I guess the songwriter liked the fewer consonants or knew the (modern) German Donner - and thought the original was a mistake. Of course the song has embedded itself in our popular 21st century consciousness, much more than the 19th century poem.
Thank you for commenting, this was very interesting! I knew Blitzen meant lightning; it never occurred to me that one of the other reindeer would be named after thunder. So strange that there should simultaneously be one with a Dutch name and one with a German name but there you go. Thanks again! Today I learned! 😊
Please do, Angel! You can find Vashti @the_cute_olive and Faye @FayeRiggsbee. They've both done great work! And thank you! Next time I show Maria she should be framed! ❤
I am SO behind on Flosstube! Your stitching is amazing, as always Audrey! ❤ Yeah, I use Total Framing. Mainly because I’m complete crap at choosing frames, and I just let them pick whatever they want. I refuse to let them even show me a sneak peek. They pick stuff I’d never have the guts to try and I’m always blown away. It’s not appreciably faster doing it that way, tho.
So many pretty things! I had to stop watching and go check out Mary Jo Hiney’s strawberries and then I had to look at the embroidery kits and then I came back to your video to see that you had actually finished one of the kits! I’ve never worked with ribbon, so maybe the strawberries are the better choice? I love all your stitching!
Thank you! I do think for me, never having done ribbon embroidery or strawberry making, the strawberries were easier or at least they felt easier. And you get supplies for five berries in each kit so there's the idea that if it goes horribly wrong you've got four more tries 😅 I would recommend them, though, as Mary Jo's instructions are very clear. Let me know if you try them! Happy stitching and thanks so much for watching! 😊
Great video, Audrey! Love your ribbon embroidery, and velvet strawberries. I have a kit from Mary Jo for a needlebook, but haven't started it quite yet. It's a little intimidating!
Just go for it! I went in knowing it wouldn't be perfect and I'm happy with the finished product. Just make sure you have plenty of time and peace & quiet while you work on it! 🥰
Fabulous Flosstube Audrey as always, love everything! I have my strawberry kit ready to start, hope mine turn out as beautiful as yours. Thanks so much for sharing ❤😊
Enjoy your stitching very much Audrey! My version of Nettle the bunny will have a mask stitched on perforated paper , still thinking different ideas for the mask ties and clasp.
Your strawberries are FANTASTIC. Am in the UK so postage is expensive so am going to try and make some with raw pink and red silk. Love them. Am going to make mine into drawer pull fobs and have a few extra for a dough bowl, thought they'd go well wil my Anjou Pears. Thanks for showing us.
That's a great idea! Check out Mary Jo Hiney's UA-cam channel - there may be a tutorial for strawberries so even if you can't get her kits right now you can see how she makes them. Thanks for watching! 😊
Congratulations on your beautiful sampler finish! She’s stunning! And I agree with you, the floss colors are so much more vibrant than the chart cover. Just beautiful. I love your needle book, too. It turned out really pretty. Gretchen has lots of those silk ribbons in her store that always tempt me but the last thing I need is another hobby! 😅 And you’re right, I’m nowhere near St. Louis. I’m way on the opposite side of the state. The better side. lol 😂
Lol I thought for sure I was going to get an angry message from some St Louis resident so thank you for the laugh! Made me feel better. And if I ever get to your side of the state I will definitely pop into Florilegium for several hours of shopping. Thanks for watching! 🥰
Also true story - Panettone linen is a bear to dye for Kerri. Our southwestern humidity and temperature effects the recipe as an equal partner in the dye process so we can get greener dye lots (like your amazing kitten stitcher pillow) OR more of the red will come out. Like a box of chocolates, Panettone keeps on giving surprises….. 😂 and thank you for the Roxy floss shout out love!
Oh, but Panettone is so beautiful! I hope Kerri knows her efforts are appreciated. Thanks so much for watching! Love your videos and products and glad to hear you guys are so busy at the workshop! ❤
Oh Audrey- Stop! - I've had to go and order the strawberry kit all the way from USA - think they must be getting shipped on cotton wool in a gold casket - lol!!! Love Maria - Love your Christmas pillows - the ice skaters look like French General Noel which I have here and love a lot! - LOVE your strawberry and ribbon needlebook - clever girl you are on fire! PS. Thanks a million for mentioning my channel - I am so grateful for your kindness :)
Ugh, I am sorry about the shipping costs but I know you'll love those strawberries! You'll just have to come back over here one day with an empty suitcase and do a lot of shopping 😉 And always happy to mention your channel. LOVE your videos! P.S. Showed Rupert your Porsche (he's a car lover) and now he's an even bigger fan 😂 Talk soon 😊
I always look twice when I see your name. My maiden name was Myres, a very unique spelling and not many, if any, other families with the same last name. I so enjoy your floss tube, love all your projects.
That's very interesting about your name! Mine is an odd one. My husband asked me a few times if I didn't just want to keep my maiden name when we married because his is so strange lol. Thanks so much for watching and happy stitching to you! 😊
You did a great job on your needle book and strawberries. Looks professional. Thanks for another enjoyable episode. I'll be making Halloween berries with you. 🍓♥️
Sorry forgot to mention, not sure if anyone knows but Mary Jo Hiney has a utube video on how to make those strawberries which I know I will definitely use whilst I’m stitching them 🤞🏻😊
Hi Audrey, fabulous finishes but big congratulations on Maria she is a stunner as for the Lords Prayer I’m Lutheran that is what I was taught…🤗❣️LaNelle …was interrupted before I could finish..strawberries are totally delicious so adorable can’t wait to see Halloween so fun …love seeing WIP’S & all your plans nice variety, so inspiring ❣️ Audrey length of video wasn’t an issue you had fantastic content worthy of time well spent …hugs my friend🤗♥️
Hi, LaNelle! Yeah, it's just a few of the words are slightly different in the Lord's Prayer on Maria's sampler than what I remembered but it made for an interesting stitch. I'm so excited to send her off to the framer soon. Thanks as always for watching and commenting! Halloween content coming your way in just a few weeks! 😉 Hugs! 🥰
The mystery animal in Maria's sampler may be a greyhound. Larger than a whippet, but traditionally bred for coursing deer - which would make it a logical companion to the stag. Could also be a deerhound. Even larger, but with a shaggy coat.
I'm wondering if Jenny's sampler alphabet is in 'learning to write' order. When teaching letters, it's often easiest for young children to learn to print letters with only horizontal and vertical strokes, then curves, then diagonals.
That's a great idea! At least for Maria Ewin I wanted to be true to the original sampler's design and honestly loved stitching those tiny letters and the look they've produced. But I have considered adding family members' names to other samplers so maybe on a future piece! 😊
Hi Audrey! More Comments to come but needed to give you a heads up on Nettle … I’m stitching her now.. SO CUTE! But the eyes on nettle herself are charted in wrong color… so reference the eyes on the mask . Thats correct! If you do it as charted they blend into the rest of the bunny…. Ok back to watching !! :-)
Hi Audrey, I am hoping you can recommend a smallish HATS chart for an Aida stitcher with not too many colors so I could try 100.3s for the first time? I have Martha Walmsley (using DMC) because I simply love everything about her, especially the pinks and greens, but I won't have her done anytime soon and would really love a sweet little HATS sampler to encourage me to push on with Martha. I would be so grateful for your time and suggestions. Thank you so much!
I would love to help! The three that come to mind are Alice Tippet (one of my current WIPs), Ann Rathmell (which I have in my stash, beautiful colors), and Annie Morris, an adorable little sampler. All of those have interesting color schemes and can be stitched on linen or Aida. If you decide you’d rather try a monochromatic sampler I would recommend Ruth Gibb because she has a lot of impact with very few stitches compared to some other designs. Hope this helps! Happy stitching! ❤️
@@StitchStitchBead thank you so much for your time and input. I’m excited to look these up. Wishing you a speedy end to your week and a slow leisurely weekend! 😘

Maria is a beauty and you will love her when you get to her! I'm thinking about doing the Jingle Ball so it would be great to run into you there! 😊
Everything about this was wonderful, Audrey. Love, love, love your little strawberries and the gorgeous needle book. Thank you for sharing. Take care, my friend.
Thank you! I do love the strawberries and look forward to having many, many more on display one day. Much love to you, dear! 🥰
Wow, your finishes and fully-finished objects are spectacular. I am inspired to do more finishing. Thanks for this fabulous video.
Thank you! I am happy to have inspired. It's so wonderful having little stitches that are finished and ready for display. Glad you liked them too ❤

If you ever come to the Kansas Speedway Floriligium is just a hop, skip and a jump.
I might have to make the trip sometime! 😊
Instead of stitching the prayer, you could stitch just part of it, or none of it, and then incorporate your grandmother’s information.
