I have seen your video on UA-cam. I got a lot of information in your video which I am very happy with. What material is used in base coat now? And what material is used in the top coat? How is the base coat applied? How long are chemicals A and B usable after they are prepared? How many days after preparation is the activator usable?
Base coat is a 2K High Gloss Black, it's applied over a 2K Primer, then left for 48 hours before doing the Hydrochrome. Chemicals A+B only last 2 days once prepared in my experience. Activator is good to use until it starts to go yellow, once it goes yellow colour, then don't use it, mix up new batch otherwise you'll get yellowing on your chrome piece.

Ratio's will vary depending what country you live in and the percentage of the chemicals, hence the reason why I never stated this in the video as it could be misleading ;-)

Hello, in my country, that is, in Turkey, syannous chloride is an expensive chemical and is not sold to individuals. I wonder if there is an alternative to this chemical. Or can we do it another way? I will be glad if you can help. Thank you.
You have to guess the ratios like I did, reason being is because some acids are stronger/weaker than others depending in the country you live. Once you have the main ingredients the rest is pretty much easy to work out but it's never exact. Hope this helps.
2k top coat applied over silver. But this silver turns yellow. From your video I have learned to do full silvering. Now in the final stages. Barley's top coat turns yellow. Give a solution for this. So that you can get full silver
You add Violet dye to the 2k top coat. This will prevent any form of yellowing ... Violet dye is a candy based dye for all paints. Just add a couple of drops to the clear top coat.

Top coat for 2k paints ... I use 2:1 ratio .. 2 parts paint, 1 part Hardener .. I don't use any thinners, never have but if you want to use thinners, then only go 5-10% ... Violet drops 3-5

You know more than I do, I've never heard of a Silver Nitrate substitute being used. Silver Nitrate only works out to roughly £1 per gram so that's fine.

@@ankitadeshara8679 Depends on how strong you want to make it, .... The places that sell this Hydrochrome at ridiculas prices will add 17g per litre, so that is a good guide line to go on. Try 12g, or lower, or you might want to stick with the places that sell this at 17g per litre, up to you, it's your preference.

The mixture ratio's of the Silver solution ''A'' depends on the strength oof your chemicals, you add the silver nitrate, then hydroxide and depending on the stregth your adding the Ammonia until the liquid goes clear, all countries or suppliers of the chemicals will sell you different percentages, example is Hydrochloric Acid, in the UK it's 37% but in the states it could be 20% as they call it Muratic acid, ... Just an example, so other chemicals will also vary.

I've never been able to create the flame chrome, maybe you can share these details on how you make it ...... The Tinning solution is Acid based, Stannous + Hydrochloric. Oxident you can us dish soap, there is no secret there ;-)
Yes, ..... It doesnt work, turns the silver mirror into a grey! ..... Use a decent 2k lacquer (not cheap crap) add some violet dye (couple of drops) and Bob's your uncle, you kept the silver mirror shine and protected it! ;-)
I apply top coat my chrome faded out also I have tried 1k and 2k both coat need your guidance but we can't get 2K lacquer, in new zealand any other way please
When you apply the clear coat / top coat, always do a mist coat first, never do a normal one. The mis coat makes the silver look dull and lost the shine (this is normal), then one heavy coat after 15 mins from the first mist coat, then the mirror shine comes back straight away, your done. ... Also, make sure you have a couple of drops of voilet dye in your clear coat so the silver/chrome doesn't turn yellow.
HELP! I used clear household ammonia? I lost a batch of silvering. What should I be using? I have seen ammonia 30%? My solution looks like brown muck! 99.9% pure silver nitrate 10g, potassium hydroxide 3g, household ammonia 10 ml. 150 ml DI water.

@@rubaiyethossain2486 Ratio will depend on the strength of your acids? Each country or supplier will give different percentages so this is why you need to buy the acids and experiment yourself like I did ;-)
White Vinegar, Citric Acid, Isopropyl Alcohol, Deionised Water ..... It's actually cheaper to buy a plant wetting agent they use on flowers, garden. Instead of Wetting Agent, you can also flame it instead, does the same thing.

You can give it a go but not sure if it will work, try all sorts of chemicals and find the best for you, that's what I did.

This is correct, it's a chemical reaction between glucose and the silver, .. It's basically sugar!

I always use a decent 2K lacquer, ... Add a little voilet dye to it so the Silver doesn't fade to gold/yellow.

You need to keep stiring and keep adding Ammonia until your solution goes clear .... Look up Tollens Mirror Making, it's he same formula ;-)

Not recommended to do in sunlight. Remember this is NOT Chrome, it's Silver! It just shines like chrome ;-)

@@rubaiyethossain2486 Ratio will depend on the strength of your acids? Each country or supplier will give different percentages so this is why you need to buy the acids and experiment yourself like I did ;-)

Yes, it's an Anti-Oxidant wich stops the silver being oxidized so you can top coat it without a problem ;-)

White Vinegar, Citric Acid, Isopropyl Alcohol, Deionised Water ..... It's actually cheaper to buy a plant wetting agent they use on flowers, garden. Instead of Wetting Agent, you can also flame it instead, does the same thing.
