Thanks for sharing the safety gear info. I feel it can’t be stressed enough. Your videos are always informative and entertaining and I learn something new every time I re-watch them.
I bet there's a good way to implement the hack-string better... like using 2 bungees instead of string, and permanently attach them using padeyes or existing mount points on your kayak to also use as more tie-downs/bungee storage when on the water. Just drop the 2 hook ends down the scuppers when its landing time, after landing pull them out and use them to secure the wheels to the kayak during travel maybe? or hold down rods?
I just reach down there and push the bungees up these days. I dont use the string anymore. I think I need to make an update video. Are you on a PA too?
That little fold and tuck hack with the gaiter is going to help out so much. Not only for fishing but also for snowboarding! I have like 4 neck gaiters that serve double duty, sun protection during summer time fishing and springtime snowboarding.
@@RomanCastroVlog No problem, Roman. You probably already knew this, but I shared it for the benefit of your viewers. I always use it day or night (or foggy mornings.)
Thanks Sandra! I'm going to make a more specific vid on how to use the fish grips. Basically as long as you hold the grips in line with the fish you don't run the risk of tearing it. It's better shown than explained so I'll be putting that out soon.
Hey Roman I was wondering if you can do a video on where you can launch your kayak around San Diego. Like where in La Jolla and so on. Like one of those cool map videos you have sometimes. I just got a pa12 and really don’t know where to take it I’d love any tips
Great question! I'll put it in the queue and get it made soon. Thanks for the suggestion. Are you watching FISHY HOUR? If not go subscribe here - ua-cam.com/channels/Cn1GHPKGPrbwMntYSOW6Uw.html Get to know other local kayak anglers and come out with us on our Mad Macks Fishing Club outings. We fish together but apart in our own kayaks. :)
Get Google Earth... then look at his surroundings in the video and find the same buildings, docks, etc in google earth. I have marked many fishing spots, launch sites by doing this. La Jolla Shores Boat Launch is where everyone goes out of pretty much.... just be ready for the 1,000+ "day kayakers" when you come back in the afternoon!!! No, not kidding!
Hi Zachary! I'm so happy you find these useful. I fish freshwater about 5% of the time. I'm mostly salt. Paying an extra 8 bucks to fish and 2 to launch a kayak on top of my state fishing license is a drag. Also you have to be off the water by sunset. So its not worth it for me. I do love catching largemouth bass so I'll usually sneak in a session or two in the summer when the days are long. :)
@@RomanCastroVlog Got it. I was wondering about lakes b/c I live kind of close to one of the SD lakes and it would be nice to have a close place to go when I’m pressed for time, instead of one of the bays. But your advice about the fees actually sours the idea for lakes for me. It looks like they make you pay every time you use a lake😳 Your advice on landing parallel To the shore worked out so well when I played around with the Hobie At Mission Bay, yesterday. I had different family members jumping on and off the Hobie all day in about 8” of water w/ no problems. They were all hooked with one ride. I’m gonna take the Hobie to SD Bay next and actually do some fishing 😂. Thanks again, brother and keep making the excellent content.

Great Video. At Time stamp 12:25 the clip on the scissors and the grips is repeated.
Thanks Jesse! I'll trim it out asap.

Thanks Diego!! Stoked you got something helpful out of this video!
Roman, FYI - your collapsible light comes in an orange fabric case that also doubles as a flag when attached right under the light.
Good stuff John! Thank you.

Any tips on fish finder set up. I have a hummingbird and still feel like I still can’t get it right
Great question Victor. What part of it is specifically is throwing you off? The sonar settings like ping and frequency?
Correct. I believe the placement of my transducer is correct but for some reason I don’t get much on the screen or the screen is just full.
Hi, Roman cuestión, do you speak Spanish? I have couple cuestión a but the PA 14 thx 🙏
