I used to like the videos of Hamza Yusuf. Because he was the one who used to call out the things done by extremists in the name of Islam. But he is wrong this time. He should take back his statements.

I have heard Hamza Yusuf has been afflicted with testicular cancer and currently undergoing treatment for cancer. It could be all these personal trials that had had an impact on his statement. Perhaps, he is seeing the end of time before us as he is battling with a terminal disease such as cancer!

I think its a good thing scholars correct scholars for their mistakes intentially or out of ignorance and correting such issue is commendable!
